Truly one of the most inventive solos ever played, IMO. I mean, EVH didn't even play anything this crazy and dissonant, but somehow really melodic at the same time. Just super aggressive playing... I remember when this album first hit shelves... everyone I knew was blown away by this song.
Judas Priest and Iron Maiden have the greatest metal rock guitarists ever and technically blow away 99% everyone else I mean yeah John Petrucci and Yngwie can riff hard too.
Richie use EMG picks (i think 70 set) and Metalica also use EMG pickups (85/81 and 81/60) so sound can be similar. but let's be fair such a great player like Richie can make anything sounds great
Hey "Richie"! Super guitar-player, Nice Flying V., and "Painkiller", yeah, 🙌💕🎶! Real HEAVY METAL -Power! 🎸I like it loud.... 😸 "Trixi"(Metal-Cat) /Germany.
For me, It's one of the most challenging hardest and the most technical solos in metal history. Till date i haven't seen somebody playing it to perfection and j too both kk and co do does injustice to their perfect creation( solos), but again, I too am learning.
I think the best thing on the album was the short neo classical solo before all guns blazing. The kind Tobias Forge would find interesting. If anyone wants a dose of what that could be like, it can be felt in the blitz of lightening solo by Accept on the faceless world album.
What do you mean? Do most Mexicans eat Glenn & KK? Is that like a traditional dish over there? "Waiter I'll have the Glenn & KK with a side of guacamole." "Guacamole senor?" "Yeah, I like to dip my KK in guac."
i wrote that before he was ripping solos lol but my point is that relative simplicity is a part of the style, personally i prefer, older styles with less notes, it has more space and is more affecting.
Yes... some runs where a little bit improvised, like that chromatic run that Glen does, right before the tapping part. Also, the tone, with chorus, delay and distortion, helps it to sound huge on record. Like the arpeggio minor thriad section in the beggining, it sounds harder and faster than it actually is.
This song and doctors saved Richie's life
Almost cost him, I think he refused to stop playing until he finished and they had to carry him off! 🚑 🏥
One of the best solos ever 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Richie is my favorite guitarist that actuality inspired me to play guitar too.
Glen Tipton wrote some of the most insane solos in music history. And like 3 or 4 solos per song lol.
Get well soon Ritchie!! Salute from Italy 👋👋🇮🇹
This is unbelievable! Richie is a very talented individual! Been a Priest fan since seeing them on the Point Of Entry tour.
Just saw Priest the other night and Richie was outstanding. Just a great player.
It's amazing that Painkiller and Fight Fire With Fire sound that good on that guitar.
I don't know, how anyone would be surprised, by how good any songs on that guitar sounds?

First time seeing JP was on the Turbo tour in Austin. Dokken opened.
Since joining Priest Ritchie got fond of blow for sure. But still amazing player!
Really? Got info on that or just rumours
@@johndoderino2609 no one ever does. Let them spout their nonsense
And do you know this for a fact?
How else can you do 80 shows in 90 days ? 😂😆😄
素晴らしい!軽やかで、そして重い。
More like Richie Faulkner staring at the camera.
first time I have seen you sweep picking ;)
Excellent kk downing impression.
Get well Falcon !

This was a message to K.K. Downing. Done well. I'm the man now. Two Thumbs Way Up!
Que capoooo , que te recuperes pronto, aguante la buena música
Get well soon.
It's funny expression on his face making fault at 2,18
Hope he gets better
Epic!
Hes playing left handed. Ambidextrous. Rare.
kick ass.
There's guitar players and there's guitarist .. I knew 10 years ago Richie Faulkner was going to be famous .
❤
Richie💋
Ok! Great! That was much better, Richie. The director was wondering if you could make a little more eye contact during the next take.
You are now the only guitarrist on Judas Priest. This solo must sound PERFECT.
What's the riff at 3:35 ?
4:05 "NUCLEAR WARFARE SHALL LAY US TO REEEEEEST"
I'm really not a priest fan but this dude is a killer
was thinking the same, quite simple parts but he is tight af, that is no mean feat.
i wrote that before he was ripping solos lol but my point is that relative simplicity is a part of the style, personally i prefer, older styles with less notes, it has more space and is more affecting.
I remember when I requested a Dio song and he played it.
Jajajaja qué cagado, te cumplió la petición y está fenomenal
Great guitar tone! Also... distortion with chorus.
And to think Richie was about a month away from a ruptured aorta that almost killed!! Stay Well Bro!
too crazy.

I like the Green Manalishi
Painkiller solo is really obscure.

What was he going in to when the video ends? Almost sounded like vh unchained but not quite.
Got some chorus on there?
I want him,Kirk and Adrian in same song🤘🤘🤘
That cute face at 2:19
Ride the Metal MONSTER.

Painkiller, fight fire whit fire... panama?? good songs, diferent stiles🤘🤘🤘

Quit staring at me!
Is that... Is that a new Epiphone Faulkner Model?!
Would love a new Falcon guitar, but nope he painted it…
Умеет ли Адам Сендлер играть painkiller?
Is this Johnny Winter or Ritchie Faulkner?
I hate being stared at! 😛
Its funny how some people think that he wrote painkiller
Isn’t Richie right handed? Me thinks this has been mirrored!
I am trying so hard not to make any guitar faces, it's just so good to hear that amazing riffs
MORE IMPRESSED WITH THE BLOKES WHO WROTE IT.
Animal...
