I think abandoning should just be giving them to Caleb and not ever talking to that one again. Myb making that one have a difficult relationship. No stay-overs nothing.

Tip for the future: mcc has a feature that allows neglected children that have been taken away to be adopted by an in-game household. Would have been nice to see him grow up and walking around.
If it happened again maybe abandoning could mean dropping them with Caleb. She just goes: Hey, honey. I'm taking you to visit your dad and then she never comes back.
But I do love the chaos
Well she has an losing custody option on the will so I think Caleb getting full custody would be similar to that
I think the reason they are leaving out the back might be because it’s marked as the front door. If you click on a door, you can assign it as a front door
23:25 try changing it to the Front Door or check if there is something which could be blocking the pathway
To be honest I think with lily still trapped in the basement is a little bit to much I think you should either let her go or end her suffering

I think for the abandoning aspect, you could have it that Layla was so desperate for money she gave him away to a family that wanted a child in exchange for money. So essentially adoption but made a profit lol

Layla will live a long time. Elder Mermaids have a very long lifespan. I've had mermaid sims meet their great-great grandkids. It's insane.

When I get “abandon kid” I just send them to a new household so I can keep tabs on them. One time I got it and she had just had a baby with a hookup (while married to another sim) so I just abandoned the baby with the dad and his family and pretended like she never existed

Maybe the reason the other sims have the habit in going through the wrong door might be because the wrong door has the front door setting active instead of the other door?
I need the triplets to reunite in the future and cut off contact with their mom lol

Check and see which door is set as the front door. You may need to switch it from the back door to the front.
Potential idea: maybe there is a siren prophecy that says you must abandon the child you think has the potential to carry on the siren legacy/bloodline, and by abandoning them they will be free to like essentially kick start the prophecy.
There is a mod that allows you to be a sea witch (basically Ursala lol)

The locks on doors gave been buggy for a while now. You have to unlock and relock them often . 🤷🏻♀️

For the door: isn't it possible to choose a door as the entrance? maybe the door to the water is chosen as the entrance

Okay I know I’m three months late to this but if you were to have identical twins a egg has to spit into two and with triplets one of two eggs will split so yes it is possible for Carlos and Tyrone to be identical and Jacob to not be

It’s a feature in the MC Command Center Mod. You can choose “edit in CAS” instead of “edit household in CAS” 😉

I think it would have been good for the storyline to “abandon” Coleman instead of using the wheel. She could have felt that he reminded her too much of Caleb since he’s also a vampire and she could have sent him to live his Dad and they could just have an estranged relationship. She could emotionally abandon him.

I play this drama wheel and when it said "give up custody" I just gave the custody to the other parent, since we weren't together, I didn't realize it meant to give up to adoption. Maybe Abandon could mean adoption and custody mean give to other parent, so it isnt that heart breaking. Good episode!
I think you should get Caleb to adopt Carlos back, add all their familial relationships back but delete his social relationship with Layla so they don't speak to eachother and if he tries she ignroes him. This is how Whiny Brit did it below but yeah I'd love to see Carlos again just not with Layla:
