    The few little extras like the "happy little trees" and the video of the birds flying over adds a nice touch to your videos without going overboard.

    Another beautiful garage and love the breezeway too. Hope your shoulder mends quickly for you and don't overdo or push for early usage. I can relate to that surgery I messed up my shoulder and bicep repair as well took months of therapy. I also damaged my knee and I ended up with a total knee joint and knee cap replacement, etc. Just to think it was all from a fall over my 90 pound sleeping golden retriever in my foyer while I was talking on the phone. I finally landed about 6 feet away in my kitchen. Saw stars for sure and YES I learned my lesson the hard way. You take care and Gods blessings.

    Great looking job ken , one thing I would like to see contractors do is before install overhead doors and hardware is put some plywood around the door framing before installing them, makes it a lot easier to finish the inside of the garage .

    With a name like Ken, you can't go wrong. Great video and craftmanship. I would like to see a detail of how you do garage door trim because here in Texas, they do it wrong and it looks like...

    Ken regarding your concrete pads, we here in Ontario Canada always lay one row of blocks to keep wood up from moisture. I like your way better to be honest bc I don’t like the look of concrete blocks. After yrs of weathering does the bottom wood ever start to rot from moisture eg the clad board or 7/8 OSB Sheathing collect moisture from being that close to the ground ? Enjoy your videos, thanks 😊

    Its a shame that that customer invested in installing the foam board but they did lay down some pex pipe for possible future radiant flooring especially since the garage is attached to the house. You should look into adding it as one of your customized garage options. Given most your garages have a 24x24 footprint the amount of pex pipe and the layout would be pretty standard.

    Really enjoy your videos it be cool to see a “detail” for instance like on the roof edge where the sub facia the facia and the drip edge with the wrap and then how it all comes together on the roof. Also on that 5/12 pitch I like how you did those roof rafters with a little square bit of plywood and then caller ties and the nee wall that was really helpful, as a unit that’s super strong, you simplify that Process

    Hi Ken, I noticed a little shed behind the garage. Did you start your career building sheds and work your way up to garages? Were your beginnings even more modest, perhaps dog houses? Has NBC optioned your life story yet? How about an autobiography? Do you need a ghost writer? What about a literary agent? ;-)

    Hi Ken. A few questions for you.
    Can you show how you install the anchor bolts?
    Do most Towns in VT permit slabs. Im in Nh and think im going to have to put in a frost wall foundation.
    Can you show how you frame the rough opening for the garage doors?
    I’ve see some videos where you use wood I beams. Do you just nail them down or do they require a special connector?
    Thank You!

    Ken.... My vision must have been distorted. Why did it appear that well over 1/2 of the pre-pour pad didn't have any 2 inch insulation before it was poured on? (1:00 mark) Also, what are the gains of putting 2"+ inch rigid insulation under a garage pad? Thank you Ken!

    • @kenskarpentry
      @kenskarpentry  3 роки тому +1

      Some of the plastic was black so you couldn’t see the foam underneath. They are going to heat the garage so helps hold the heat and you’re not heating the ground under the concrete
