Actually I have accord euro r cl7 k20a and few days back my oil pump started giving wining noise the rbc oil pump which has balance shafts , so I changed the oil pump and by mistake I have installed k24 oem oil pump, because euro r oem was not available, so after installing k24 oil pump my acceleration has dropped, my euro r can hardly touch 7k rpm now on k24 oil pump, so now I will install type s oil pump with no balance shafts, that's what I am recommending u too. If u want more power and quicker acceleration. Thx

Just got myself an fn2. I had the intention of getting an induction kit for it purely for induction sounds, but i was surprised how nice it sounded stock - good compromise between sounding refined and still having a little growl, so plan to keep it stock for a little longer. Having also owned a 2zz swapped mr2 mk3 (mrs), if I wanted outright rawness and that strong crossover, I might steer towards that, even though I'd consider it an inferior engine to the k20 (less vvt variation, lift only on intake, geometry etc...). Shame the 2zz crossover in stock cars are almost inaudible... You've driven both. Curious what you think. Never tried a b series, but it'd be interesting to compare them all.

There's also the gearing they messed up so it's very difficult to stay in lift compared to a honda. There have also been some concerns regarding oil starvation at certain Gs. Not really an issue on roads, but more on track. I'm assuming the SX is the same sort of thing as the celica 190. But definitely a detractor for those who want peace of mind I'd have thought a dc5 would be considerably more expensive, but hey, it's more sought after also. Not sure about where you live, but there are quite a few K20 CTRs in the UK, so I'd think at least engine wise parts would be easier. The K20 also has more power, vtec on both intake and exhaust cams, more vvti adjustment etc... I personally feel it's a bit difficult to justify a celica if a dc5 is easily in budget, and again, I'm assuming the k20 is the performance version. I'm not too well versed with other domestic markets however

There’s base spec DC5s for just under 10k but they seem to have much less power, a good 35kw less. Even been looking at dc2 vtir which are rare but around the same price as the celicas. Only the b series in em tho :/

I’m tossing up between a DC5 and celica SX for hillclimb sprints. Car will stay relatively stock just springs and tyres. Which you recommend?

Yes agree 2ZZ is hindered by the weak gearbox with poor gear ratios. The Honda is definitely better but both are excellent engines.
