Adidas is probably selling a number of the Yeezy's "at cost." "At cost" would mean covering materials, labor, and operational expenses (not sure if they're factoring R&D and marketing into that), but not any additional profit. As we saw, Adidas sold them through Confirmed for the retail pricing they were using last year, so over cost. But they did say "at least at cost," so they were meeting that. But later after the initial confirmed drops, we saw many retailers get them in, and plenty even slashing the prices. Adidas likely sold the pairs that weren't selling to these retailers at cost, so that the stores could sell them at reduced prices.
My pods came in last week. I love the look and concept. At $20, the quality of the material is a steal. The biggest issue is definitely sizing. I'm TTS 11.5 in a size 3 and there's definitely more wiggle room than I'd like. They're wearable but not optimal. I have a size 2 coming which I feel will fit much better. Smaller fitting >... My favourite thing about them is how wide the toe box is. My feet feel free walking in them

Selling then at cost is only some financial jargon to calm investors that they will not be losing money on dropping the shoes
Nike AND Jordan Brand better get their shit together. New Balance is on the come up. The look, quality, and comfort is on point… and most of them are cheaper and made in the USA. Nike and Jordan brand sneakers are expensive, and usually always have quality control issues. And most of their sneakers can’t come close to the quality and comfort of many other brands. ESPECIALLY New Balance.
You may be right from the quality standpoint but Jordan brand and New Balance aren’t exactly targeting the same group of buyers. There might be some overlap but not enough for Jordan to be shaking in their shoes when it comes to NB.
Another shoe that dropped on the regular Nike site is the AF1 Evo. It's an air force 1 with visible air units. Surprised there was no snkrs release for it

But good to actually get an update, that just means that they way too many orders and instead of constraining their supply or saying they were sold out, they just went ahead and decided to try and fulfill every order that came in. That's ambitious as hell, but absolutely a terrible idea if you don't communicate that.
Glad to see Yeezy finally saying something after a while. So far, I've only received the blank black hoodie so far. I'm still waiting for the vultures long sleeve and pants.

My YZY Pods order was packed on Saturday (04/20/24) shipping lable was printed, tracking number provided, all that, but they haven't been shipped yet so hopefully they'll be out today (04/22/24) and in my hands by some time later this week, maybe next week.

I have a question about the 3D shoes you reviewed. Have you still been wearing them, and can you see how they hold up when walking on hot asphalt? You took flames to it, but a burst of fire and walking on a very hot surface for a while are two very different things.

I don’t think adidas is saying they will sell them at cost, they are saying that their projections for the remaining year assume they are sold at cost. They are being conservative in their financial projections.

Maybe Adidas is selling yeezys only for regular prices but don't need to sell out to sell at cost. For example, they sold only 20% of the stock for regular price an the covered the cost. The leftovers can be shredded without any loss of money. That could explain why Adidas took all yeezys off the page without selling out any of them.
