I love how one of the first things we learn about Fern is that Frieren had trouble detecting her when she was a child. Even a decade later, she still has trouble. The attention to detail is so good!
I love how Freiren’s most notable flaw is basically the equivalent of closing your eyes when pulling the trigger. A bad habit she never really grew out of.
except frierens gun blast is unavoidable even with her eyes closed like they said, even with such a simple weakness the only who can take advantage is fern
@@world4saker Tactically, anyone ‘could’ take advantage of it, but they would need to _know_ of it, and before this admittance, Fern knew by observation rather than her admitting it.
It’s down to a second or third individual just _not_ using magic at all until that split-second, and Fern has a leg-up on any of _those_ with her quickfire perk _in tandem_ with her natural honed suppression (minding that even Denken just ‘overlooked’ it because he expected otherwise, as would anyone aware of her achievements).
Love the Dark Souls "traverse the white fog" sound effect and Dark Souls health bar :D
I love how, even at this point, you can start to see how contradictory Serie's words and actions are.
She tears up Flamme's will, stating that she's angry that Flamme would even ask that she teach magic to humanity.
Yet what is she doing present-day?
She's the head of the association that trains and accredits mages.
The tsun-tsun-tsundere has to tsun-tsun-dere.
Well, she did take a thousand years to finally comply with flammes will, tho.
It's not even funny anymore how people misunderstand Serie and her actions... She did literally the opposite of Flamme's wish
Flamme wanted to teach basic magic for literally everyone, like an elementary school. To light a fire, cook a tea, to defend themselves from basic monsters. That's why she founded the Imperial Mages associatio
Meanwhile Serie started a counter organization, the The Continental Magic Association. Which allows only a select few to join, they value only combat magic and makes their members participate in deadly tests to prove their worthiness to Serie and to advance classes. That's literally the opposite what Flamme wanted.
Sure, she is deeply down a caring tsundere and loved Flamme, but she upholds her own view about magic and it's the opposite of Flamme's
@@hulmhochberg8129 It's a mere 1000 years. Just a moment for mourning, I guess.
@@neretilderem7029 the Imperial mages aren't an association like the CMA. They are the elite mages of the Empire, and there are very few. Denken apparently had to work hard to get into the group and advance. And another we know of didn't succeed.
The current arc of the manga is revealing more about the current imperial mages...
So is Serie minimum at least 10 times older than Frieren, just based on how she speaks about a mere thousand years in reference to humans developing magic.
i think i saw at least 7,000 years old, could be more though
I think it's mentioned she is from the age of mythology but I don't think it's specific about how long ago that was.
@101Mant didnt they say at one point that age was over 7000 years ago, or that was the last time thr goddess did anything? maybe it was in the manga
so kraft is prob older from how he talks and he has been around since the beginning and the goddess was prob a real human and through time krafts friend ended up becoming the goddess because of her power and good nature, and since they worshipped her she became an actual goddess from all the people she helped glorified her just how people glorify himmel, so she is the one who grants people powers now.
19:49 every time someone says "Grimoire-chan" Renna looks like she's being physically struck 😂😂😂😂 it's her Fatal Vulnerability 😂😂😂😂
lmao, they have no idea what they are in for the next episode
Exactly
yeah they really think that was it. they are not ready for the actual black hole of pure magic thats about to appear
@@PAT.OS96 Exactly
As epic as Fern is, she could only do that shot with Frieren distracting /fighting the clone Frieren. It will probably take a few more decades for Fern to capably duel Frieren 1 on 1, and even if that could happen Frieren would probably still hold back in a duel
Slight manga spoilers:
Frieren predicts Fern can match a Great Demon by the time she's 70, but given how fast Fern learns, we could probably cut that down to 40.
@ yeah exactly a fair few decades. I also don’t believe there ever will be a stronger human mage than Flamme who reached the peak status of a human mage fairly young (30-40). Fern will come close though of course
@@Smokeybob-sz6beFern would have the advantage of a thousand years of magical development and access to spells that didn't exist in Flamme's time. It's not just about personal talent
Don't forget, Aura said Frieren used to cast flashier spells.
That was about destroying, or rather now not destroying, the bodies she was controlling.
Also back then basic offensive magic didn't exist so no Zoltaak, or the shield.
Fern tells us Frieren taught her that basic combat magic was enough for the mages of this era. When the replica is fighting mages from this era that is all it uses. When it encounters Frieren, a mage from an older era it uses older magic.
The mimic theory is funny and all but we know that the clone have no emotions and brain so frieren hobby is not going to be emulated by the clone
I think this is the first time I've seen anyone give a good reason why a mimic wouldn't work...
@@MichaelRBrown-lh6knwell that and we know she can just blow them up from the inside, it would be a quick distraction at best not a solution.
That's assuming there are any left in the dungeon accessible to them, since Frieren was deliberately searching the whole place and probably found every one.
That's Grimoire-SAMA for you!
I think my favorite fan subtitles for the Frieren boss is "Frieren, Journey's End".
Date Hazukashishi ♥
This episode includes the most important Flashback. You can subtle imagine how old Serie is when she talks about civilization of humans is starting. Don't take the Tsundere face value
The combat art/animation in this show is amazing, but this episode took it to a whole other level. Add in the music. A lot of anime fans brag on fight scenes in other anime, but few can equal this one when you add in the emotional content to the mix.
Frieren fighting Frieren is AWWEESOMME!!!😍
23:44 So aggressive, Suraj!! 😅😁
🙉🙉🙉
They gave Stark narrating duties so he doesn't drink juice at night.
Next episode the height of magic.
It’s easy to see why Kanne doesn’t like Richter, considering he tried to murder her during the last test so Frieren wouldn’t pass.
it is grimore-chan now
Book-Chan 😂😂😂 they gon learn
I was listening, Suraj! 😂
1990s MySpace Grimoire-chan merch when? 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, everyone thought that this episode was the end of the fight. Well, as you guys know now it is not so easy to defeat Frieren. Fern has still a long way to go. I mean, she was literelly destroyed in the next episode.
I really like how the Anime portrays strength. Fern is still learning and Frieren is not totally OP. She even lost several times (however, after seeing 1x26, I'm sure some losses could have been avoided if she had gone all-in).
I'd love to see Serie's reaction to being referred to as "grimoire-chan".
They are not prepared...
I just opened UA-cam and
OMYGOD
Guys fyi that’s not the end of the fight
Milly Alcock would be a good cast for frieren?
Fern is in no way THAT mage yet... she has huge potential but plenty there are stronger: Denken, Methode, maybe even Richter and some of the others might actually beat her in a duel. But I guess that's how the show makes it look...
Mommy fern is clapping Richter 😂
To be fair on Naruto they weren’t seasonal and used tons of good animation. 😢sad Naruto gets the shaft these days.
This episode always bothered me because it really did end funny. Like this was such a mislead.
Damn yall talking too much lol...its not even "reacting", this is just "talk during/over"
Hello, please could you watch the movie "In the Heart of the Sea 2015" and make a reaction video, thanks.
Frieren basically using only zoltraak…until she meets herself and brings out the WHOLE bag of epic flashy spells 🪄
Basic offensive magic is enough to deal with the mages of this era. It's what she tells Fern.
キルア偉そうになったな、髪もブロンドになって。

I wish you were watching dub so I could follow
Imagine willingly ruining your experience with the subpar dub and wishing it on others...
@@neretilderem7029there is another dub that is subpar? I thought the one on Crunchyroll was excellent and enjoyed it as much as the sub.
Or are you just being a typical sub snob?
You know some people literally cannot follow subs for various reasons too?
@neretilderem7029 Imagine trying to watch the amazing animation and pay attention to the story while reading the entire show. Go fuck yourself.
