I'm not a beach person, so I never thought I would like Hawaii. I'm so glad I found your Aulani videos!

Nice video! I can say that during our trip, we never felt the urge to have a car at all while we were at Aulani. One, because the parking rate and daily rate combined made it a pricy luxury. And, I'm glad we didn't because, in retrospect, we just didn't want to leave the resort. It's such a perfect blend of beach, fun pools and rides, restaurants and activities, we loved every moment there. (We got a car after we left Aulani and spent some days at other locations on the island.) So, my tip is. Don't get a car when you're at Aulani. Just stay there. Enjoy it. Then, check out, get rooms in other locations and reserve your driving excursions for when you're at those other hotels!
Also, I had no urge to cook at all. To be fair, we didn't have a kitchen in our room. But we really enjoyed going out and sitting outside at the restaurants. The weather is so beautiful, being inside always felt like a crime! (We left Chicago in January, so that could have something to do with it!) Ama Ama for breakfast and lunch was reasonable pricing. $15 per person typically. But the dinner rates were too high for us. The Ulu cafe had $12-15 dinner plates with great food.

$37 a night for parking at a hotel you're paying a TON of money to stay at?! That should be illegal...

I just went at the beginning of June. Now, they have a sign that says anything unattended before 8:00 will be taken, so I sat there before 8:00 with my coffee and book.

The Convention Center was our standard studio view in January too!--didn't mind it really; could fall asleep to the sound of the water trickling below.

Yes to the small parking spots (and roads) I would go with the smallest vehicle you can stand, you will be glad you did. Especially if you are bad at parking like I am.

Would have liked to hear anything about the ocean and beach area of the resort.

We were on the Canada to Hawaii cruise last year on the Disney Wonder and had a nightmare experience with Charlie's taxi to Aulani denying the flat rate and picking us up at the wrong place. Would never use them again.

I would like to hear more about things to do outside of Aulani. What things are there to do if you have a car and if you do not have a car? Are there shuttles to take you to other destinations on the island if you don't rent a car? If the traffic is heavy around Honolulu, is renting a car and going other places worth the hassle? Please do 3 more shows :) Would love to hear more.

I am surprised that this resort is pushed so much by Dreams Unlimited. The prices are so high they are almost ridiculous. Very few viewers and some travel agents can afford it.

No, there is no parking charges if you're booked via DVC.

DVC members can have two stalls included with your stay.
