Peak Racer yes just because Every car has the same run and the same point of high speed. I mean did he even Look at the pictures? There Are differences of 50-100m... and AHHHH
Once again the Ferrari F2004 isnt fast enough as it was in real life, hitting 230mph(370)kph easily at monza. Yeah I know this is a shorter straight but even at monza in the game it doesnt come near 370
Zack Halverson Yeah I think it's a gearing issue. On F1 2017 it tops out around 355 by hitting the limiter. Back then there were different ratios for different tracks, and while that can be seen in the game at Monaco, it doesn't seem to have much of an effect anywhere else.
It doesn't test acceleration as well because the series of corners right before it are high-speed and aerodynamically dependent. So cars with more downforce would have an advantage.
The game will be much better if they added more 80's cars and some more 90's cars instead of 70's cars. Here's the list of cars I think should be in F1 2019 and the reasoning behind each one of them: 1980 Williams FW07B (was very uncompetitive in F1 2013) 1984 Alfa Romeo 184T (This and the Osella cars had the only Turbo V8 in the history of F1, and it'll be easier to license it than the Osella) 1986 Lotus 98T (Senna's car in 1986, the most iconic from that year) 1986 Benetton B186 (had the BMW M12 Inline 4 engine, would be cool to see it) 1988 Williams FW12 (was in F1 2013, and we need more 80's-90's V8 cars, so why not?) 1989 Mclaren MP4/5 (the winning car in 1989, Alain Prost's last Mclaren) 1990 Ferrari 641(Alain Prost's first Ferrari) 1993 Mclaren MP4/8 (Senna's last Mclaren) 1997 Minardi M197 (the last V8 until 2006's V8 era) 2006 Toro Rosso STR1 (the last V10 car to ever race in F1) 2013 Ferrari F183 (a car from the last season of the V8 era, a great competiton to the 2010 Redbull) 2014 Mclaren MP4-29 (the last good Mclaren) 2016 Mercedes W07 (the fastest F1 car in the history of F1 when it comes to top speed)
Bar Goldstein a massive problem with adding these classic cars is licensing... near enough all these cars won't look exactly the same to the irl versions, this is because of the sponsors either no longer existing or are unable to be able to acquire the licensing for them...
These are just the Codemasters default setups, not at all representative of what top speeds the real world cars could do 90's F1 cars could easily break 320 kph/200 mph !
Few points here: -The Lotus and McLaren cars of the 1970s were all running the Ford Cosworth DFV engine, an engine which had a lifespan of nearly 20 years (from 1969 until it’s final evolution in 1986 if I’m corrrect). Therefore it makes sense that the gains in topspeed were minimal. -The 2006 Renault has the same engine as the 2010 Red Bull, but the maximum RPM was being adjusted from time to time. There was no RPM limit in 2006 (Cosworth produced an engine that could hit 20.000 RPM at the end of 2006). From 2008 onwards it went from 18.000 to 17.000 by the end of the V8 era in 2013. Also, it’s a real shame they didn’t include the 2005 McLaren MP4/20, that thing could hit 376 KM/H at Monza.
I‘m afraid you‘re not 100% right. McLaren used the Ford engine until 1983. I guess they changed the Ford V8 engine for a turbocharged V6 which was build by Porsche in the same year. But a nearly 15 years lifespan for the Cosworth engines build for McLaren is still massively impressive.
Ridiculous. The gearboxes changed according the different circuits... For of all old cars.. they all hitting more 320 easily and more 350 for 2000’s V10 cars
Hi Alex, I'm from Mexico and I love the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, but I think that Baku has the longest straight in the year, maybe you can try on that track the top speed of this incredible cars, congratulations and nice job mate
I think it's useless to add those cars, apart the 2014 mercedes they don't have any technical peculiarities that make them interesting and we have seen them too much, could be intersting to see some cars like the brabham bt46
The one we want codemasters is the 1993 Williams FW15 driven by Allan Prost with active suspension, the most advanced race car ever made, which they eventually banned in 1994, and also we want to drive the 1976, 6 wheel tyrill.
That would be great. With just engine sounds only. Great vid mate. Very helpful.. I only want to drive the classics. I can't drive the new shopping trolleys
Looks like Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez does not have the correct altitude setting in this game - the lower air pressure would allow teams to gear their cars for much higher speeds while keeping high wing angle (although it would feel like a low downforce wing setup). In tracks like Monza, you're at closer to sea level, so you take off wing angle and increase gear ratios to reach higher speeds. F1 cars were already doing over 320 km/h at Monza in the 90s and 340-360+km/h at Monza in the late V10 era while still achieving 330-340km/h in the V8 era - down by a bit sure (they lost a lot of speed in 2009 and onwards after losing some rpm - I think 335 became vmax at Monza, while most other circuits would see 305-315). The top speeds demonstrated here only seem typical for a regular race track with typical length straights at sea level like Circuit de Catalunya, Silverstone and Magny-Cours but they don't represent the top speeds these cars could really reach in proper race trim for the appropriate circuit. This game, it too much work to add atmospheric pressure as an aerodynamic influence, should at least decrease the downforce and drag data on the cars by an appropriate percentage. I haven't tried F1 2018 but it would be nice if you could change the gear ratios and final drive too.
The 1995 Ferrari is an iconic F1 car. Even though it only won 1 race, it signalled the end of Ferrari's struggle for the last 3 years. Another way it was iconic was that it was the last ever F1 car to be powered by a V12
TheMindGarage The 2006 Toro Rosso had a V10 tuned down to make less rpm, which basically meant it ran on 8 cylinders. And last year Lee Mather himself confirmed that was the reason they put the car in the game.
Well, looks like you didn't even lower the downforce of the cars with the wings and kept them in standard. The F2004 easily goes above 345kmph if set to a lower downforce.
Some of the engine sounds still don't match the RPMs. The 06 Renault sounds like 18k when it displays 20.5k. The 92 Williams is also off, seemingly as a result of changing the redline from 13k to 14k (IMO the 2017 sound was better).
WELSHBLADE Litres mean very little because of the different rev limits and aero setups. Litres times RPM would work better since all bar the 88 McLaren (not sure about the 82) are naturally aspirated.
ill be honest. its a good test. but i believe you should do this test with bahrain. that straight is longer and is a lot better on hitting the absolute max
You are wrong about 96 - 97 cars.. They ended that 92- 97 era of the cars. Because FIA chanced rules of how teams needed build the cars from 98 to 2002. That was the era of F1 cars that last till 2008 season. When 2009 started modern car era. And Ferrari didn't win in 90's more than 2 races and Alesi was one of the driver who won a race with it. And 2002 Ferrari actually was actually faster by winning marge that 2004 Ferrari.. Near 2 second faster. But it doesn't take credit from 2004 Ferrari which was amazing car...
Bad choice of corner imo. I would pick the long right hander before it. Could be taken flat in the 2017 cars and probably the 2010 Red Bull - curious to see if the Brawn and the newly-redone 92 Williams can do the same.
261 km/h top speed, are you fucking kidding me? Even the interwar-era Grand Prix cars (the original Silver Arrows - Mercedes and Auto Union) could reach 300 km/h and more!
2006 Renault was much faster, this game F1 2018 and F1 2017 just have its' gearbox on a very low gear ratio. If you've ever played F1 2006 or F1 2006 CE, this car is much more OP on low downforce circuits like Indianapolis and Monza, with a good setup, and slipstream behind another car it can go 350 to 360 kph or more, otherwise even without slipstreaming it can go 330-336 on those circuits.
Something is very wrong with this game and this video. I've seen all the F1 races since 1988. Every top end team car (Ferrari, McLaren, Williams, Renault) from 2002 till 2006 with low wing config could reach 365 KP/h at Monza. I've seen that so many times.
you don't have a proper end point where you measure the speed!!! this test is already inaccurate and because of the lack of a proper end point to measure, you just made it more inaccurate.

Should show us the crashes at the end of the straight too.Just for the fun.
Yeah that would be cool
The wheels would have flown to mars!
2004-2006 explain the speed difference. With V10s to V8s, also the 1995 Ferrari is included because it was the last proper V12 in Formula 1 :)
Peak Racer yes just because Every car has the same run and the same point of high speed. I mean did he even Look at the pictures? There Are differences of 50-100m... and AHHHH
imagine it pauses in every version of car and start playing to be continued song....
Once again the Ferrari F2004 isnt fast enough as it was in real life, hitting 230mph(370)kph easily at monza. Yeah I know this is a shorter straight but even at monza in the game it doesnt come near 370

Zack Halverson Wait wasn't the 2002 version to hit 370 kph? I was very young and I don't remember perfectly
he said in the modern cars video that he's using default setup, so 6/6 wings and lower top speed
HIGH DOWNFORCE is the reason, these cars run on default settings. wings setting at lowest downforce and the car goes much faster
@@Mbarnstein62891 Thinner air leads to less drag and faster top speeds
The Ferrari 412 T2 was the last V12 powered car in Formula One history , that's why it is so special :-)
Also Schumacher himself said, it was a car that was able to win the championship.
Also the last V12 car to win a Grand Prix!
I think you should've tested in Baku.
It doesn't test acceleration as well because the series of corners right before it are high-speed and aerodynamically dependent. So cars with more downforce would have an advantage.
Patrick Gillilan it won’t even matter
Labib Ishmam Khalid yas marina it has the longest straight
Panda’s Motorsport channel no it doesn’t
The game will be much better if they added more 80's cars and some more 90's cars instead of 70's cars. Here's the list of cars I think should be in F1 2019 and the reasoning behind each one of them:

1986 Benetton B186 (had the BMW M12 Inline 4 engine, would be cool to see it)

1997 Minardi M197 (the last V8 until 2006's V8 era)
2006 Toro Rosso STR1 (the last V10 car to ever race in F1)
2013 Ferrari F183 (a car from the last season of the V8 era, a great competiton to the 2010 Redbull)
2014 Mclaren MP4-29 (the last good Mclaren)
2016 Mercedes W07 (the fastest F1 car in the history of F1 when it comes to top speed)

o Hardy we'll just have to wait and see, nothing is confirmed yet, just shared a thought
o Hardy and the looks are not the thing that matters the most, it's not as important as getting the physics and sounds right
Benetton B186 was the most powerful car in F1 history
Deuse9248 That's another reason why we need it
What setups are you running? Remember that the Minardi's were doing 361 km/h at Monza in 2004. Nice vid :)
These are just the Codemasters default setups, not at all representative of what top speeds the real world cars could do 90's F1 cars could easily break 320 kph/200 mph !

Scrubinator 333 Yes but the DFV was first used in the 1967 Lotus and was last used in F1 by Tyrell in 1985.
2003-2007 all the ferrari f1 cars were based on the 2002 ferrari
You forget the 2003 Williams BMW FW 25 and the 2009 Braun Mercedes!
Compare new track vs old track lay outs.
Ridiculous. The gearboxes changed according the different circuits... For of all old cars.. they all hitting more 320 easily and more 350 for 2000’s V10 cars
You should compare handling and laptimes !!
Hi Alex, I'm from Mexico and I love the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, but I think that Baku has the longest straight in the year, maybe you can try on that track the top speed of this incredible cars, congratulations and nice job mate
They seem quit randomic speeds to be honest... and some of them are ridicolous. :(
Why did you not test at Baku with the longer straight
II want them to add the 2014 Mercedes, RB9 2013 and the 2012 McLaren, Ferrari and 2013 Renault would be cool
2013 renault?
There was no renault in 2013,they came back in 2016
Erik Accorsi he means lotus
How do u know? Renault and lotus aren't easily mistaken lol
Nytar agreed, the 2010 Red Bull needs some competition :)
I think it's useless to add those cars, apart the 2014 mercedes they don't have any technical peculiarities that make them interesting and we have seen them too much, could be intersting to see some cars like the brabham bt46
Why do you didn't do this tests in Baku?
Thanks for the upload mate 👍👍👍
And Brawn GP? And Williams 2003?
He explained it in the fcking video
Die Legende I couldnt hear it, can you be so kind of explaining me?
His review code wasn't for the "headline edition", just the standard version of the game. hence he didn't get the 2003 Williams or the 2009 Brawn.
daconmat321 oh fuck, thx 4 answering me m8
Mega Joelchu Did you not watch the video? He said he does not have access to the Brawn and 2003 Williams about 3 or 4 times.

The vmax of the 96 Williams was 330km/h at hockenheim (And others cars this year). I remember that.
Where are the dlc cars? And Brawn GP? And Williams 2003?
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is not a good circuit to test top speed as it is on 2200 meter above sealevel, limiting power.
Everyone SHOULD get headlines edition that is the only game of F1 2018 and Steelbook of course
I liked this video before it started I'm so excited to get this game

Aayush Karnik It wasn't a bad car. I think there must surely be more to it than being the last V12, otherwise we'd also have the 2006 Toro Rosso.
TheMindGarage The 2006 Toro Rosso had a V10 tuned down to make less rpm, which basically meant it ran on 8 cylinders. And last year Lee Mather himself confirmed that was the reason they put the car in the game.
Thanks for this video!!!
Do the classic cars have like the visual filter feature that they had in f1 2013?
No and there is no option for it...
PS4 or PC?
Well, looks like you didn't even lower the downforce of the cars with the wings and kept them in standard. The F2004 easily goes above 345kmph if set to a lower downforce.
I reached 357 with it.
Why not baku and why do you not wait till first day patch with all those videos
and the brawn gp?
Wouldn't you be able to reach higher speeds in Baku?
Some of the engine sounds still don't match the RPMs. The 06 Renault sounds like 18k when it displays 20.5k. The 92 Williams is also off, seemingly as a result of changing the redline from 13k to 14k (IMO the 2017 sound was better).
i am a professional racer and i can alraedy see at the very start you have the gears wrong
so it is useless.
Thanks mr proffesional racer
What's so special about the 95 Ferrari you ask, well it is supposedly the last v12 in f1
Now you need to do these news cars , i want to see the 2017 , Force India , cuz the car reached the amazing 370 kmh , put that one there ..
Adelmar Washington wasn't it the 2016 force India that reached those speeds?
What about that dlc 2005 Williams
Where is the Williams FW25 and the Brawn BGP001?
He explained it at the start of the vid... the press version lacks the DLC cars
The Renault sound is way off... Same with the RB6
The R26 engine note is terrible, it’s a carbon copy of the RB6
They were using the same, but slightly more evolved, Renault v8 engine.
Ruvicks They sound different in pitch and tone
Ruvicks The RB6 is limited to 18k. The R26 goes all the way past 20k. But the pitch is still the same in the game.
its not that good compairing because sometimes you stopped the speed maximum earlier than others. But its interesting . Like it!
Brawn GP?
Why not baku?
What about 2009 Brawn GP and 2003 Williams
Pls test in baku and with 0 wing
You should measure the speed at the braking point, not just before the right turn.
Can you please Show all Menus in the career
What about Paul Ricard's alternate layout
What is KPH using real English numbers
the 1995 ferrari is always amongst the classic cars because it was the last car with a v12 engine to win an f1 race
u should of actually included regulation of the engine size of each car to see if the litre increased or not.
WELSHBLADE Litres mean very little because of the different rev limits and aero setups. Litres times RPM would work better since all bar the 88 McLaren (not sure about the 82) are naturally aspirated.
i understand what your saying
Why didn't you do it on Monza?
Straight in Mexico is longer.
Why can't you put all the tests along with the pre-order cars at Monza? There should be a speed difference there.
Kobra1998 he said he didnt get the headline edition
ill be honest. its a good test. but i believe you should do this test with bahrain. that straight is longer and is a lot better on hitting the absolute max
Bahrain has a shorter straight then mexico or baku
And the Brown GP??
The cars sound nice on the game, but the v10's don t sound anything like they really do, the fw14b is earsplitting!

I love the sound of the McLaren MP-
4/13. It sound like a V10-McLaren should. Not like in F1 2017
No Brawn GP and no BMW Williams...
Masterstar#F12018-MadMax he explains it in the vid
Those Renault RPM's oohhh baby 20k!
You should do the highest speed through maggots and becketts
The Doctor that would change depending on how well he executes the corner, it would be unfair
Wolfie. He better get it right first time then 😂
Which is impossible to do all these times with cars with a different feel
Wolfie. He can still give it a good go
Bad choice of corner imo. I would pick the long right hander before it. Could be taken flat in the 2017 cars and probably the 2010 Red Bull - curious to see if the Brawn and the newly-redone 92 Williams can do the same.
Would be nice to see the entire car
261 km/h top speed, are you fucking kidding me?
Even the interwar-era Grand Prix cars (the original Silver Arrows - Mercedes and Auto Union) could reach 300 km/h and more!
wherer is the williams 2003
Do the Mercedes 2018 car comparing the ERS modes? Mexico/Baku/ China or monza would work, keep up the good work!
Where is the brawn gp1
2006 Renault was much faster, this game F1 2018 and F1 2017 just have its' gearbox on a very low gear ratio. If you've ever played F1 2006 or F1 2006 CE, this car is much more OP on low downforce circuits like Indianapolis and Monza, with a good setup, and slipstream behind another car it can go 350 to 360 kph or more, otherwise even without slipstreaming it can go 330-336 on those circuits.

The fastest car in term of top speed is the 2003 Williams. I reached 360 kph with it.
This is ridiculous Vettel in 2010 Monza top Speed is 337km. Theo game is so wrong in 71 the lotus top Speed is 303km.
I think you forgot to mention that they went to V8 engines in 2006
Btw the back straight in China is longer than mexico
Where’s brawn gp
The r25 and mp4-20 should be added.
Valtteri did 388 kph in baku last year he must get some credit for that?
he didn't
No he didn't
This test is kinda flawed because cars with more grip will exit the corner faster
when the 2000's f1 cars used to rev to nealy 20000. those were the days before shitty hybrids.
good video but just to make claer that this doesn´t match to reality at all......those cars could reach higher speeds
324 is too fast?? America is laughing at that.
why so unrealistic?I remember 98 germany, monza... cars easily hitting 340+
Seazar Seazar well how coincidental considering the top speed ever in an f1 car was Valtteri Bottas at Mexico.
esti roman ?
Baku....
The 95 ferrari is the last V12 thats why it is in
And the williams 2003 and Brawn 2009
The cars look awesome
Imagine if we get Fangio Mercedes next yr
WHERE IS WILLIAMS & BRAWN ????
Dude end ur top speed at the same spot ?
Where is the 2003 williams
Kinda pointless comperison, seeing as most of the cars here are just thrown into the game with the short gearing.
I not even see the video but I know the Ferrari 2004 is the fastest , am I right ?? Lol ! Nice
Where’s 2009 brawn ?
Here isn't the 2009 brawn gp car.
Explained why in the video, he did.
What's the point of this video, I mean nobody really cares
you don't have a proper end point where you measure the speed!!! this test is already inaccurate and because of the lack of a proper end point to measure, you just made it more inaccurate.
