Bought the game yesterday and IT IS BADASS!! I LOVE IT!! IF only they had rally racing, night driving, and realistic tire smoke when doing burnouts like on need for speed. All in all well worth $60.
What about fm4? It's better in almost every aspect IMO. One could argue about Fm1 or Fm2 because they are very different, but fm4 was pretty much a perfected version of fm3
I have no idea why there are always a high percentage of dislikes on ign videos I haven't seen any other youtube channels that deliver such accurate and objective game reviews. They almost always cover all the important details of the game.
I like how Forza 3 was already better than Gt5 and now we got Forza 4 in less than a week lol. I'm trading in my PS3 GT wheel so I can get one for 360.
All the comparisons between GT5 and F3 have got me interested in F3 all over again. Seems like Turn10 actually built a great game that even stands against GT5 years later. Can't wait for F4.

Regardless on which game you prefer, (GT5, Forza, Or Shift series) - the future of sim racing is going to be amazing - all of these games make me want to buy a full race seat controller.
Proud owner of PS3 and GT5, really satisfied with it... but I must admit that I was really stunned at the F3 graphics (scenery), and the car offering, which is probably the best in any other racing game.
Forza 4 is going to be this, new cars, twice as many cars, all new tracks and game modes, kinect support, innovative online technologies and much more. And this game is already awesome. Can't wait!

Yeah, I play NFS a lot so when I switched to this game I had no idea that I had to use the brakes that often and to not hold the acceleration the entire time. This game is an excellent simulation of real racing while Need for Speed is just for entertainment.
Top 5 stuff in both Forza 3 = 1.more relaxing 2.nice amount of cars 3.nice selection of tracks. 4.painting 5.gameplay GT5 = 1.CHALLENGING 2.A hell of a lot of cars 3. night driving /weather 4. 16 (sixteen, SIXTEEN cars at time on track, online/offline) 5. physics Forza 3 is really good but when you need challenge, GT5 is just right for you got them both and man I cant regret of having them, both will be played over years, this car (CAR) fan is pleased, care shit about which looks better....
@LordVurtax Just fyi...your comparing FPS for the PS3 which have never sold well. Go back and check even PSone and PS2 for FPSs. So, KZ, UC, R:FoM have done really well considering PS history. Also, you need to check your numbers. Halo 3, sold 11 MIL. The total number sold for PS3's, UC 1+2, KZ 1+2, R:FoM 1+2, and GoW III = 19 MIL. I got your point. But still.

This game came with my Xbox 360 elite last year. I was so overwhelmed with all my other games (never heard of Forza at the time) that I never bothered to play it, instead play my other games for weeks. Eventually, I forgot all about it. Today, I am getting the new Gears of War Xbox, and I think I'll try out Forza before the new Gears of War game.
@Combellinas, True, but FM2 has been out a year longer than GT5P and yet it only sold 150K more. What happened is that some FM fans didn't like FM3 as much as FM2. Reminds me of the same thing that happened to Fable 2 vs Fable 3 fans. They liked part 2 better.
@bliglum The main problem I have with GT5 is that they didn't put any Porsches in the game. It wasn't their fault; Porsche denied them the license to use their cars, but having the ability to drive a 911 is really important to me, and that's why I'm staying with Forza. Also, the list of cars that are in GT5 is not particularly well-balanced. For example, the entire lineup of the Ford Motor Company, is less than the number of Honda S2000s featured in Gran Turismo. Something's wrong there.
I was more of a nascar racer when this game was out. I never bothered with racers like this one until I picked up Forza 4. Now I'm looking beyond the Forza series to see if Project Cars has it beat.
@ollie7400 I think the reason they consider it a sim is the physics. Because compared to something like Need for Speed, it is a sim. And the Need for Speed crowd generally don't like games like Forza or GT because they have trouble with the idea of breaking in corners, and not constantly traveling at 200 + miles per hour. heh.

LUV FORZA 3, I been Decaling, painting, up-grading, and tuning my 2006 Austom Martin DBR9, 2009 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and 2009 Acura ARX-02a for the past week and the toughest one to fine tune for me is the Auston Martin, still trying to find the sweet spot with this cars tuning. Anyone who owns FORZA 3 knows the tuning is very awesomely big, everything in a FORZA 3 Car can be tuned. The Acura was surprizingly easy to tune. Like I said, I LUV My FORZA 3 babie thats where real racings at... \:)

Crashing at 200 MPH only makes a small ding, no scratches even. I saw a video where a player was driving an Aston Martin. When they hit the wall, it was only a bump. No scratch, nothing, just a bump. Are you ever going to drive those thousand cars? Changing Tires? Where's customization? WHEEERE?

Also, the "skyrockets" you talk about is only on game sales. Not console says, since the PS3 has caught up to the 360 in world sales. You are just focusing on NPD numbers (US only).
Forza 3 was great for its time(2009).Now that it has evolved in to a more detailed game (Forza 4),we'll be seeing even more changes in 2013 due to the XBOX 720 release also don't forget about CES in january,Microsoft will be showing it next year over at CES.

@WarFite GT5 was great, though, it's disappointing that they let Forza catch up, I say this as an avid Gran Turismo fan. Well, enjoy the moment. While ultimately it comes down to opinion as to whether or not you prefer a sim (GT5) or an arcade-sim (FM3), Forza 3 does outdo GT5 in terms of overall quality. (Standard cars and re-used GT tracks really made the experience feel..dated, compared to Forza 3). GT6 is set to be a true GT again, though. Forza 4 is also looking good. We'll see...
Amazing game. BUT I'd recommend waiting for Forza Motorsport 4, which comes out in October. If you're strapped for cash, buy this for $25, but Forza 4 is only 2 months away.

It's because GT6 has weather and dynamic time of day so graphics have to be scaled down somewhat while FM3 don't have to worry about that.

i love how i was able to turn a crappy fiat 500 into a rally monster. Nearly 400 horsepower, and a top speed of 150. great game.

I played Forza 3 yesterday on someone's 360 and I have to admit, it's pretty fun! I can't wait to get Gran Turismo 5 for my PS3 though!
