02:07 "...my wife is no longer ill. That is good. She is still relatively young, so she will be around for a while, providing us her resources." That's so romantic, you must really love her. 😀
I’ve been surprised that this game *feels* like it moves faster than it does. I’m about 12-13 hours into my first game and around Turn 90 or so? But it feels like I’ve done more than that. Started as Babylon and have wiped out Persia FeelsGoodMan I’m truly enjoying the hell outta this game; kinda feels like the first time I played Civ.
So I played a tutorial game as Babylonia. Everything went A-OK, until the king, his son and heir and the next in line all died in the same bloody turn. How is that even possible..
I just discovered this game, actually Civ 6 is the first 4x game i ever played. reminds me of Castles i used to play as a kid in the mid 90s. I had forgotten about that till just now. Never gave these kinds of games a chance. Man im hooked BAD. Love your vids on this. Even though im late to the party.
Yeah, just yesterday lost a 7-wisdom, 6 discipline/charisma Heir to an assassination (Rome was upset with me and their leader was schemer).. lucky my King survided to 84yo else id have a 4yo ruler..
XD I want to say, if you have the option, absolutely take a religion. Having access to those religion buildings is pretty key. And it doesn't stop you going polytheistic and god king
Been using the tips from these vids to play the scenarios. Thought they'd be a good way to practice before doing normal games. I was VERY wrong (quite difficult to complete all the goals).
potato i may be wrong but u can have multiple tutors on one child at a time and can repeat a couple of times during childhood if u time it right and have multiple courtiers who arent generals or governors
xp requirement scaling was added since the last time I played and it's excessive. You effectively cap out and that's unfortunate, because there are increasing returns from increasing stats.
Well yes and no, because before you could get leaders with ridiculous stats (like 25+ stats leaders if you put them as general of a cavalry unit and farm Kills)
@@Smilemonster1912 I agree, with you 99 % (the other 1% is for making your own Alexander the Great/Caesar Augustus and wrecking competion for the lols)
@19:50 looks like a bit of a typo/bug since the tech says free "light" chariot and you get a free "heavy" chariot A bit of this is a question of whether it's working as intended too, since that feels pretty early to get a free national unit, but I'll leave that question to developers
"She's young, so she should be around a while giving us her resources". So is that what they called it in 2500 B.C.??? PS I have been playing a bit of this but I haven't "put it together" yet. This series is very nice. Thanks!
I don't know man. Maybe you should have gone with the Mills that way the lumber income would have been cumulative. I'm not sure this game will - long term - reward a Magnus locust style start. But what do I know, I've never played it, it just seems like no woods will cause issues later in events.
May be a stupid question, but I can’t find the Middle East nor the Mediterranean maps in the premade maps menu (it’s empty in my game). Is there something to download or to do in the settings to access them ?
Does anyone know how to find trait names? I found character ids through the debug mode when playing on the test branch, but don't see something that works in TRAIT_TYPE in the console code "addtrait TRAIT_TYPE (characterID)"
Don’t suppose anyone knows if there is any consequence for running a resource deficit? Like if you run out of stone and your turnover was -10 stone does that actually matter? Can’t find any conclusive answer.
it will automaticly drain your gold. if gold 0 it will sell other resource to buy deficit ones but idk what happened when all resource and gold is zero and there's deficit
There are various ways. Adding a specialist to a tile (farmer, etc) claims all hexes adjacent to that tile. Like a Civilization 6 culture bomb. Many civic buildings also expand to adjacent tiles. There is a law you can implement that lets your buy tiles, and certain leaders or governors can buy tiles depending on what archtype they are. There are also events that add tiles.
Additionally, when you add a specialist on your border, if there is a special tile within 2 hexes, your border will expand to capture that special as well. Very useful for planning how to capture nearby non-adjacent specials.
Thanks for the video.
Potato: "Go my ten year old son, explore the world!"
I see you are a proper Pokemon parent.
Where Wingull?
Second child, you are less important. Go explore the world!
That was EXACTLY my thought as soon as he said it.
encampment! gotta clear them all!
Loving the Old World content. Haven't been this excited about a 4x game in a really long time. Thanks Potato!

I really hope this becomes a more common game you play. I really enjoy watching this game be played by you. More so than Civ.

got this game long time ago when you first made a video on it
It’s just been released on steam, was previously only on epic game store
I love the long play of getting your heir to make good with Babylonia to dogpile on Assyria
I got a guy up to 10 wisdom and he was immediately assassinated

you just pokemon'd your son
16:11 aint that Mouhamed salah the Egyptian football player xD wtf
the wisest king in history .... *calls Cyprus Kriti*
If builder is from other family than your city he builds improvements 1 turn longer. Same if he is damaged (you have at least one damaged in Tarsa)
Loving this content. Keep up the great work!

You can use your Bireme to attack a target city or unit as well.

i cringed when he called that island crete, close but no cigar potato
That game is way to complex for me - but I really enjoy you playing it!
I had a 10 wisdom leader in my first playthrough, and I still don't know how. Never managed to replicate it.
hi potato! loving the playthrough so far. how do you know how developed your cities are? what metric do you watch out for?
Love the content. More please
i am really excited to see you do a polytheism route
Thanks! Although I think you meant to say Cyprus and not Crete at 0:13

Didnt you just state yourself the reason for it? The cap exists for balancing and realism reasons.

King Mursili legit looks like Oded Fehr.
7:90 that's an Armenian music. Komitas Vardapet is the author :D I wonder if they shall ass Ararat Kingdom as a DLC
Is there a logic or base price (in years) of how long workers take to build improvements/things? I dont seem to find it anywhere. TA

There's a difference between chopping wood and clearing forests. Chopped forrest will grow back.
@@pikciwok6360 TIL That's good to know.
Actually, putting Boudicae to command a chariot as a general is pretty on point to her depictions.
i would instead put her as rider governor. big training energy
Struggles with wood production, so chops trees when lumber yards could have been made
The civ player is strong in this one.
Chopped woods grow back and I think he needed more immediate wood
Minor point, but that island is almost certainly Cyprus, right? Way too far east to be Crete. (sorry Island of Cyclops)

Religion is very important in this game specially to reduce unhappy villagers. Bad decisions relating to foundation of zoolo religion
If Pokemon thaught us anyrhing, it is that its perfectly fine for a 10 year old boy to explore the world 😂
they are the pontic mountains not pontiac
I see my home town is on there ❤️ Gaza
Is this historical set up just an option, or the standard mode?
