    =====================================================
    | USA ended their run in the Preliminary Round of the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) victory against Japan. TJ Defalco was the top scorer for USA with 15 points. Matt Anderson (12 points), Garrett Muagututia (12) and Max Holt (10) also scored in double digits. The North Americans claimed a total of 8 wins in the Preliminary Round, one more than Japan.
    This is what the players said:
    Micah Christenson (USA): It's more for pride, for us to end the tournament on a high note and to play good volleyball is always good. We stayed focused through the whole game, they put a lot of pressure on us with their serve and we never panicked, we were always confident and able to come back.
    Yuki Ishikawa (JPN): In each set, from the beginning to the middle we were able to read their game and we were able to keep the pace with them. However, in the decisive parts of the sets we were not able to score, we were also not able to keep the momentum and it's a reason why we lost. We should have won a few of the games which we lost here at the VNL, but it was a valuable experience for younger players ahead of the Olympic Games.

      @@HH-hx3mq ダイレクトの処理はセッターの低身長、ミドルのレベルが低いって事でブロックできないのも事実かと。ノータッチはリベロとの間でしょ、石川選手だけの問題じゃないし、寧ろ高橋選手の方がノータッチが多かったと記憶してますけど??
      でもそれくらいは仕方ないと思うんですけどね。レセプションミスで失った点の数倍は石川選手は得点稼いでますし。
      問題はレセプションばかりに重きを置く日本の考え方だと思いますね、
      他の選手のレベルの低さをもっと改善する事です。レセプションしないポジションがもっと得点力を上げるべき。割れたトスでも得点できなきゃダメ。世界との大きな違いはそこだとずっと前からから思ってるんですけど未だにレセプションのせいにして、最多得点は昔から石川選手ばかり。相変わらずです。

      同意です👍
      オポやMBの得点、ブロック力の低さで落とす試合が殆ど。海外で洗礼を浴びないと変わらないと感じます。
      これでは世界では戦えない
      ネットフリークの評価そのまま。
      このチームで石川は孤軍奮闘アメリカ戦他全試合得点、繋ぎ、レシーブ全て抜け出ていると思う〜東オリはもう修正間に合わないから個々のミスを減らす事位だと思います。

    This was a really good game. A seasoned US team and a young, but talented Japan team. I think Japan will have the edge once the Olympics come.
