  • Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host today's Learning English show.
First: China's policies mean it more electric cars and solar panels than it can sell at home. As Dan Friedell reports, officials in the U.S. and other countries have voiced concern about a flood of low-cost Chinese products.
Then: ChatGPT developer OpenAI has introduced a new tool it says can reproduce human voices with short audio samples. But the company plans to continue developing the system before releasing it to the public. It said the delayed release aims to prevent possible misuse of the tool. Bryan Lynn has the story for the LE Science and Technology Report. Then, Bryan joins Ashley in the studio. She asks him about the possible risks that OpenAI has identified in connection with the new tool.
Next: Ashley provides us a preview of the LE report Everyday Grammar you can hear on tomorrow's podcast.
Finally: The LE Lesson of the Day. Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English. Today they explore the language Anna and other Americans use when they talk about vacations and recreational activities. Don't miss Andrew exciting chant about things he likes "ta" do?!
And finally, John Russell talks with Ashley about what we'll hear about on tomorrow's Everyday Grammar!
Dan and Ashley close the show.
