Fun fact: in real life, Malachite is toxic when in water. Apparently, Rebecca Sugar didn't know this when she planned the fusion, but it works very well.
That's actually the twist. The Cluster already destroyed everything else. That little Watermelon Island and the water around it are floating in space now.
It might be hard to remember, but the watermelon stevens ended up leaving steven after the baby melon sacrificing itself, you can see the statue being baby melon, and they also follow it's way to deal Malachite which is sacrifice.
I like how the last season ended with the clear message "despite the giant anime flights, this show is fundamentally about growth and change and peace and love on the planet earth." However this season opened with the message "Also, yes, giant anime fights."
Malachite could stay together because they fused over a desire for power, Jasper longs for power in general, and Lapis feels powerless and thus want to have Malachite's power to feel in control, in this situation control over herself and Jasper, someone who hurt her. Both of them feel a greater need to be in power that to be split apart, even though the Jasper part of Malachite wants to be free, Malachite as a whole was created out of a want for that power so shee won't unfuse until that part of her unsyncs. I hope that explenation makes sense, there are other's out there who can put it more elloquently than this.
I think that when it comes to fusion. They need armony to fuse (specifically for the dance). But after that, they can either share the control or one of them can take full control. This is probably why Sugilite and Sardonix despite being fusions, feel more like amplified, more confident versions of Amethyst and Pearl's personalities respectively. And this is what is happening here as well. First Lapis was in control to imprison Jasper but then jasper took control.
🦋🦋🦋 Happy Monday and Good Afternoon!! & Yes I made it on time, this Reaction is going to be really fun & there's a lot to look forward to during the future episodes of "Steven Universe". 🦋🦋🦋
Best fight scene in the entire show imo. Also about the watermelon Steven's, remember in S1 when baby melon sacrificed itself for Steven and he told them to go and never return until they realize what baby melons sacrifice meant? Well the Steven melons took it literally and established a village on that island, founding a religion around baby melon so that one day they can enlighten themselves on the nature of his sacrifice and return to their master. And they genuinely believe that sacrifice is the answer to every problem as they've been sacrificing Watermelon Steven's to malachite for a good while, thinking it'd appease the beast
There is a fan theory that says that similar to how Steven created these water melons who evolved and created a civilization, Rose did the same thing with onions thousands of years ago. Those evolved for centuries and eventually led to the birth of what we now know as Onion.
Malachite is well my favorite fusion and villain, part of me wanted to see them win and wish we got an alternate outcome of that, kinda wonder if Rebecca would give some small things with Fusions having different outcomes in form of a mini series or comic especially if Sugilite didnt get head tramau & poofed by her own weapon.
Even though Lapiz and Jasper are fighting with each other. They are both actively focusing on fusing with each other. Lapiz is basically forcing herself to stay fused to trap jasper and well Jasper just wants to stay fused for the power. Thats just my theory tho.
This easily could've been the season 2 finale. As soon as S3 began they got the cluster and malachite over with asap, which is seems rushed and unnatural. Still though, these episodes are very good!💯🔥
Thats just how it is. They don't really *have* gender, but they just use female pronouns because its easier for people watching the show to understand that theyre all pretty much the same "gender"
@@asmodeusguys4472 my guy how am I being creepy? I'm genuinely curious as to why there aren't male crystal gems. which I got answered. didn't know it was illegal to ask
Imo Malachite is the representation of a toxic relationship, where even tho they aren't "in sync", they're still toguether.

@@MattTOB618that is funny that she didn’t knew
That’s not really an opinion that’s exactly what it’s representing
@@Hj-hc6fd oh I wasn't sure of that, I just thought it was a popular theory
Also, malachite is supposed to represent one of Rebecca Suggar's toxic relationships she had..
at 8:24 those subtitles were incorrect, garnet actually said "the warp was destroyed", not "the world was destroyed"

What a battle!

8:05 i like how pearl and garnet land somewhat gracefully meanwhile amethyst just falls on her face LMAO
The fact that Lapis held onto control for so long & grew tired made it more sad because Jasper was able to have control to fight Alexandrite
This makes me think that the only reason Malachite stayed fused, is because Jasper used Lapis’ hatred for the Crystal Gems to fuel the fusion.
I love how Alexandrite has the option of 7 different weapons (Amethyst‘s, Pearl‘s, Garnet‘s, Sardonyx‘, Opal‘s, Sugalite‘s and her own breath of fire)
Lapis was forcibly holding the fusion together. She’s OP after spending 2,000 years cracked and straining to get out of the mirror.

2:03 nose goes
The most surprising thing about this episode was you remembering Jasper’s name lmfao
I even surprise myself sometimes
Sickest alexandrite last line 7:25

Gonna get two episodes today let's goooooo
Next Episode: Gem Drill
Now things are gonna get REAL later on

If this were the season 2 finale instead of the season 3 premiere, then what would change other than the labeling of the episodes?
Best fight, dont care
the garnet and jasper fight in jailbreak was better imo
Also I forgot how much I loved this episode
.
(Yay a two parter)
Great reaction!
Yay 2 episodes in one day 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hypeeeeeee
PEAK
why isn't there any male crystal gems?
Stop being creepy ronald
The creator of all gems aka white diamond is a female goddess who only created females

Every episode in SU is good, except Ronaldo episodes (they're the worst)
Ronaldo episodes were the funniest honestly. I prefer them over Lars episodes.
