I have an Eheim Pro3 which is now 8 years old. It's done a good job. The only issue I've had is that because I've got it in a tight space inside the cabinet, on occasion I've had a bit of trouble sealing it and end up with a puddle. On one occasion last week it got me on a bad day and I've only just gone and bought a Fluval 307!
I have an Eheim 2213 that I still use after buying it almost 15 years ago. Had to replace one piece so far and it was my fault it broke. Eheim is legit!
I’ve had my Eheim pro II ,and Pro 3e cleaning my 210 gal tank since 2005, and they are fantastic. My 22 year old Red Belly Pacu agrees they give him a happy home. Had to replace 1 impeller and just now a second time, that’s it.
I got an Eheim Pro 2228, have been using it for 23yrs and is still in good working condition. Didn't really notice any slowdown in the flowrate either and it's still as silent as the day I bought it. I had initially wanted to buy a new filter (with pre-filters) to replace it but decided not to in the end partly because of nostalgic reasons - I've had so much joy in this hobby keeping so many different species of fishes over the yrs with this filter running faithfully without fail. Another thing is if you think about it, how many things do you own that are still in good working condition and is still with you after 10 or 20yrs? The only other thing I can think off is your G-shock or mechanical watch.
It just proves the point you get what you pay for and sometimes quality cost!! In the long run durability and performance saves money and time!!😁🙌🌿🐟🌿💚🙏
I have the pro 3 2075 for more than 10 years now on a 150 liter goldfish tank. Very very happy with it ,still mostly silent & full performance as the day I bought it. Still using the supplied bio media & in bottom tray I use medium then fine sponge then fine filter pad as per youtuber Pondguru advice. Cheers
1:50. It's easier to shut off the connector tap. Turn off the power. Then, open the connector tap for a second to break the air lock. Close the connector tap immediately. Now press the red button. This method works on all my filters.
I still have my Eheim3, after 8 years the peice that the 2 hoses Clíp into cracked on one hose probably from taking on and off after so many years. Found the part on eBay and it’s still running great on my 110g
I'm using an Eheim Pro 4 +250 on my 25 gal tank for 3 yrs now. Might be a bit much, but I heard it's best to use a higher flow output on heavily planted tanks. Plus, the media inside slows down the flow. Hope I'm right about this! ...lol Thanks for the video.
Higher flowrate for heavily planted to help circulate nutrients and co2. But if you trim your tanks to prevent dead zones, you be ok with what you have.
Hi I have Ehaim 350t and I have problems with the valve I change and now I have problems with flowing you have a picture with the floater position? Pls thanks
That's crazy. I have 2 Eheim Professional 4's and they look exactly the same. Only difference is the media container is grey see-through. My Eheims are all quiet, though the Classic 150 and 250's do hum a little. I got all my Eheims second hand and they have been running for 2-4 years now without any issues.
My 2075 is probably 12 to 14 years old? Just had to change the seals...which sucks because of the stupid little screws that they use. Just started using the RA external prefilter for the turtle aquarium.
awsome filters also check the wattage they're lower than other brands so cheaper to run, also little tip tanktastic use eheim maintanance spray on release button spray in between and inside release mechanisim all red plastic, it will stop that hard to push release button. i have two 1200xlt's 8 years running no prob's
@@TankTastic yo yes lubricate around the ejection button and inside where you see the spring and the moving red plastic parts once the connection valve is removed, once done it'll be just like new. : )
1:28. You said they made a mistake by putting the priming button back,' where it is, but that isn't a mistake as it's maybe for aesthetic reasons as realistically once the filter is easily primed you may only need to use the priming button maybe once when you clean the eheim tubes as the filter is easily self priming. The easy way is to fill the canister with aquarium water and to fill the pipes with water, like the 2217 filters. This filter priming is easily done, and mine is still going. Eheim filters are the best!
Eheim 2180 pro3 is an Awesome 'BEAST'.. Water changes once every 6 MONTHS in my 4ft tank..... Yes, ONCE / 6 MONTHS guys.... Jbl substrate 20l bag in a planted community tank with around 20 fish... Quality, if you can find one that is....Great vlog enjoyed in London ....
I have the same filter which is ten years old. that red button freaks me. it is so hard to push it. is there a way to fix it. if i change the part will i solve the problem. or i need eheim sprey?
I have 3 Ehiem (2026) I think 🤔 these filters are coming up to (15-20) years old, I’ve 3 other Ehiem filters.pro 2 x 3 like yours.and pro 4 the electronic one.I do buy the odd second one from eBay strip it down new o rings and seals and away they go..I use a 2.3 ltr pre filter (canister)on all my tanks just for sponges 🧽 and wool so my main filter hold just media and I don’t really need to touch them :-)
@@TankTastic not much really.just don’t pack it tight.these are white in colour I think 🤔 there a sun sun brand.you can buy them with or without a motor.without motor for me £23.00 each over here but sold under the brand of (all pond solutions) I put a double tape on the in and out.takes me 10 mins to clean.one of my main filter hasent been touched in 3 years.lots more room for B-Bacteria.(I got the idea from a guy on utube) called pond guru.he’s spot on with his filters.shows you how to set it up correctly wool media pads ect.to many people set there filters up wrong.
Sorry to disagree but I have an Eheim Professional that I've had for a long time and it is terrible. Always has been. It is one of the older models without the self priming button. It has two cut offs on the input and output. It is truly terrible. Never works. Badly designed. Doesn't self prime after a power cut, difficult if not impossible to get going again after I clear it. Often stops working, and makes a heck of a lot of noise. The cheap plastic parts often break and you need to buy spares. Good luck finding spares. Do not buy Eheim. Ever. They are not quality products. They are outdated, redundant, pathetic, useless garbage. Better to get an Oase Biomaster external cannister, or a Sechem Tidal HOB filter.
Hi there, series professionel 2 was terrible with that big priming button which leaked buuuut on newer models need disagree with you even eheim experience is fixed(no prime button and very quiet). I have 8yrs old eheim professionel4 350 and 600 versions, no problems, nothing broken, just once per year greasing all rubber and moving parts, also i have oase biomaster 600 which is also very good filter especially prefilter is very handy BUT steel axle is louder than ceramic eheims, also biomaster has a lot of rubber complex sealings on prefilter which will deteriorate in time...but parts for oase are cheap in EU
Definitely a quality filter , 10 years is a nice long time to have one running 👍👍👍
I have been using my Eheim 2229 for 15 years. Nothing breaks. It just works

Great video as always man! That’s a durable filter! Oase is the dream filter now though! Keep it up with that quality content!

Yea, the classic 2213 series are built even more like tanks. I have one too, its going to be a hand me down later on lollllll
This is great! Yes I am an Eheim person. Love them and have two of them. But for less than a year and not worried.

you should try the superfish x-pro 2000 uv. its a great filter!
Adding a bit of vaseline on the two rubber o-rings of the safety adapter will save you a lot of thumb energy when trying to eject.
