I’m from Lawrence…. I live out in Berryton now on other side of Clinton lake. I had no idea you came here-so cool! What an absolute fabulous performance in Kona a year after your heart attack-it is so inspirational to me-I had a heart attack at 42 and am 49 now. Your dedication to family, triathlon, and health is amazing!

This past weekend was definitely a hot and windy weekend for KONA training. I was out at LoneStar Lake and felt the 100 that day! As a KC triathlete we train out in Lawrence all the time! Not sure if you’ve found Lonestar Lake near Clinton Lake but that’s’ another good area for training.
Let’s go Tim! Rooting for you, watching you and Rinny crush these races is an inspiration.

Tim, out here in Hawaii (Oahu), riding the road bike almost every day, nordic ski training (skate roller skiing) at night because of the extreme solar loading from 10:00 - 15:00. IronMan Hawaii 2022 will likely have the same very hot sun, so make sure your race kit is engineered to help you withstand this. Bees that can/will sting you are a threat but you can mitigate this - please read my advice on your Santa Cruz 2022 race report. Happy training!

Indeed! I am lost for words to what Rinny have accomplished! she is more than 7x ironman Champ for me. She got everything amongst all pro women. God Bless your Family and may the strength you put in this sports is more than enough to conquer whatever fear both of you might have looking after this beautiful family and kids.

I disagree that Kansas is humid. We moved here from Williamsburg,VA couple years ago. Believe me that place is humid. I am a cyclist. I rode at 90s this past summer. Honestly it didn’t bother me.
