I would love to see people play this with the goal of removing stars, it should be done on the map with King Boo to make it even crazier. Since everyone has 999 coins, it would get hectic from that.
So here are the interesting facts in this video (tl;dw) and some others: - Coins are capped at 999 and stars at 99. The numbers won't go any higher than that. - Landing on a star space with max stars will still let you buy a star, but the cap still applies. Note that older games will outright deny you of purchase in this scenario. - Coin pots in duels, VS spaces (not shown here), and Bowser Revolution (not shown here) are uncapped. In theory, it can go up to 3996. - Coins received on duels are capped at 999, even though the pot goes beyond that. (I guess Toad gets to keep the leftover 999 coins lol) - Landing on a Boo space to steal coins while nobody has coins will simply say "Oops, nobody has coins". The game will not softlock like in older games. - Bowser event "lose half of your coins" can make you lose as much as 500 (999/2 rounded up). - Yoshi board only: the Thwomp toll maxes out at 999 and the upcoming players will only have to pay 999 coins. - Space Land only: the Bowser Coin Beam will drain ALL your coins, regardless of how many you have. Yes, you can lose 999 coins here. - There is a tiebreaker system when multiple players tie in first place, where the winner is decided to by dice roll. Getting a 10 is a guaranteed win as nobody can have the same dice value just like the initial TUUURRN ORDER dice roll. Some games do not have this and instead declares multiple winners.

given that ending, new thing to try. what happens if it was modded so everybody rolls the same dice number. so will the game randomly choose or will it go based on placement order? i know messing with dice in MP1 made it do that. have everybody roll the same number to decide turn order and it just goes based character placement.

I could be wrong but maybe the AI only stole coins because it knew 99 stars was max. Therefore it would think by stealing a star they would spend 50 coins (they dont know its infinite) but would not gain a star meaning they would drop out of first becuase in their eyes they would end up with 99 stars and 949 coins

I remember playing Mario party 8 with my sister, and we both had the same amount of stars and coins. We had to do a dice roll to win, with me winning a 6 to her 4. It was the closest game I ever encountered, and I’ve been playing Mario party since I could play video games.
Pro tip: in the minigame snow whirled, you can put your shirt on your thumb and spin around really fast by spinning in circles and if you do that, the game will think your pressing them one by one.

(3:45) It's likely not an if statement. It's likely a variable for the toll that updates after you pay, and you have to pay that amount or above. After you pay, the toll is set to "min(amount+1;999)" which means it's set to whatever is the lowest: the amount you paid + 1 or 999.
I think the Money that's infinite is basically Money that *they* get *IN THEIR REAL LIFE* And that basically what they lose and gain is in their back accounts...sooooo...Waluigi did a crime (What a surprise)
