My only point is, if you don't remember your past life then it doesn't matter if there is a life after death since its irrelevant.
If you can remember your past, then how was it stored and transmitted from one body to a new born baby(brain is still under development).
And we cant even remember something we used to remember as babies once we grow up.

can't remember doesn't mean it does not affect you in your now life. In fact reincarnation says what you are now is somehow an effect of your past doings plus a lot of your present actions interwined. Do no evils as it will get around. It's a cause and effect doctrine.

Another Idea could be that the children's memory of past lives has been received from an entity of collective consciousnes. And that such information could also have physical effects by passing into cells and so on.
Quite less chances as, energy cannot be confined to a certain place or we can say why only some children. Only certain children won't be affected, it must have then affected everyone. Or maybe we ourselves as consciousness go from one body to other and so on, acclimating and destroying small Quantum particles maybe known as karma. Reincarnation is very interesting presented by Jay Lakhani, first of all, I respect every religion. now I have a question and I know most of you have heard about it, that is the D-Wave quantum mechanics computer, that can bring resources into our world, from other worlds, now may be in the near future we can replicate ourselves as new humans?

REINCARNATION is a symptom of existence of evil spirits, the information of one person pass on to another person through evil spirits to delude human beings from existence of heaven created by God. As Mr Lakhani curious about the link, the link is the evil spirits which pass on the information or possess a person to appear as the grandfather or husband as spoken in the video.
The question is if reincarnation is true then the next question should be how do we break away from the powerful ones who are very likely evil and have trapped humans, animals, etc. may have trapped us to reincarnate back to this low dimension I know as pain and suffering. Whether it was proven by scientists or not.

thank you for your honest comment, reincarnation does answer many questions, but because its proof threatens core belief of heaven and hell of major world religions, it is not given the due recognition, enough research has been done, some researches continue to work on this topic and more cases are found still wider world don't want to know because it does not fit in to their model of thinking.

Jay Lakhani is a wonderful scholar of Hindu philosophy. It's about time that religion takes on a new perspective to modern day life. The only thing permanent in life is change. Jay brings into perspective the metaphysics of Sanatana Dharma (the original name for Hinduism) into modern terms, decluttering all that isn't necessary and making it tangible. If religion is to have an impact on modern society, it should be applicable to fit into modern times. He's absolutely brilliant. He's an extraordinary man and scholar. From breaking coconuts in temples to cremation - all in sync with laws of nature, laws of karma, reincarnation. Yes, I do realize that : ) But, it is no longer effective in removing the suffering of people. He gives Hinduism a new perspective removing the dogma and fairytales and brings to light new understanding. All religion needs to change to accommodate the new challenges the world is facing. Just being good these is not enough, unfortunately. We need new solutions to everyday suffering. I'm not saying that he has the only answer; what I am saying is that he offers new insights that should be investigated.

It all depends on if you're talking about the 13th century B.C.E. or the 13th century C.E. If we are talking about the 13th century B.C.E. than what you are saying is plausible. BC E stands for "before the common era" and according to the Christian calendar the common era started after the death of Christ. Current scholarships see that potatoes were written sometime between three and 4 1/2 thousand years ago which is still remarkably ancient.

This is what i understood.
According to the eastern metaphysics the sum total of all the impressions(karma) on your mind(obtained from previous life) and also formed by the daily physical and mental activities shape your character. Your spirit evolves through gathering new imprints and loosing some old(through experience and realization) from your current life. Then this spirit gets reincarnated into the next life. This process goes until you realize your true nature with all karma dead.
My doubt is, does this spirit take other life forms or it is confined only into human domain? How exactly is spirit defined, is it just the soul or is it something else?
The soul is spiritual by nature. Spirit is just another name for the soul and vice versa.
God is eternally existing. Because the soul is a minute part of God, it is also eternally existing. The size of the soul is 1/10000 times the upper portion of the tip of a hair.
There are 8,400,000 species of life. The soul can devolve into lower species if very sinful. The soul evolves into higher human spies due to good karma. There are 400,000 human species living on every planet in the universe. The purpose of human birth is to free ourselves from repeated birth and death. This is only possible when we realize we have had enough of material enjoyment which often ends in frustration. At this point we enquire, why am i suffering, who am I, what is the real purpose of life etc...from this point on, the lord seated in the heart will help you gain transcendental knowledge which cuts off our bandage to birth and death. There are 72 verses in Bhagavad-gita that defines the soul in detail.

Please read this report form the assitant of stevenson who revealed the flaws of all this experiment ---Champe Ransom, whom Stevenson hired as an assistant in the 1970s, wrote an unpublished report about Stevenson's work, which Edwards cites in his (1992) and (1996). I had the same thought and definitely I am not an expert on scriptures but what I get from this video is whatever position you are it is not because of you but a lot of other things beyond your control. It is like you ran into an accident not because of your fault but because of some bad situation driver didn't saw you, vehicle slid, etc. Similarly, I don't think anybody should feel responsible for such conditions Instead live life happily, and as the speaker said we all must help them. If god forbid I was in this situation definitely It would give me some peace that I am going to come again and I would make it right next time.

My knowledge about mysticism is practically non-existent, but like to comment about one of his references. Mr Lakhani mentioned Ian Stevenson, a psychiatrist of University of Virginia, who researched extensively on various reincarnation phenomena. Ian Stevenson's research has been subject of criticism and deemed unscientific. Although Stevenson's integrity, sincerity and effort was never in doubt, his methods and interpretations were subject of critical controversy later.

What does a tree have to do to be a good tree and become human again? They are all the same. The wind blows, they shake a little, they lose their leaves in Fall. I don't notice any odd behaviors for the tress in my front yard.

Maybe the rocks and trees are advanced beings and we have to become like them. Look it. We created this "fake" crazy world. Money, jobs, luxurious homes, all this craziness has been created by humans. I think we need to learn from the rocks and trees to just "be" or at least live simply. I don't know it's not permanent anyway my home is the darkness where I will be completely free just dissolving back into the source is where I am going to go after this "movie" of life.
They don't have to be "good" animals, or "good" insects as they get reincarnated again and again they will get to know that (subconsciously or meta physically) it is not the body, but it's the life itself, the part of universe itself, so it concentrates less on fulfilling bodily desires and concentrate on the life within itself.
As u said a animal like a rat for example can't be a good rat to become a human, for a rat or any other animal there is nothing as good or bad, they react to situations according to their senses, so it can't do nothing good or bad to become a human.
So for your question 'what does a animal have to do to become a human' logically it can't really do anything coz it can't think like a human does, what it can do is live a normal life. So after many lives of being other animals finally it will one day become a human.
It is stated approximately that it takes around 8.4 million lives to get to a human form.
