- I intended to turn these orange turn signals into white LED but was not able to find any good content for the Lexus GX460, so here goes another video due to lack of any.
This helped with my 2017 Lexus LX side mirror turn signal replacement (same size and structure). Thank you!
Its actually standare remove and replace for all Lexus Mirrors. Good thing it helped. A lot of side swiping going on. There is a video on automatic folding mirrors i did a while back ago if you're interested.

You just saved me $575 LABOUR ONLY from Toyota, or $800 LABOUR ONLY at Lexus. I bought original Lexus parts from the dealership: white case and light for a total of $400.
@@abdullahc6931 i would have drove around the block till I found a GX my color and just pry his cover off. The lense is a couple screws. Which reminds me, I need a new catalytic converter.

I looked online at parts for the mirror, and one part I did not hear you mention that is on the list is called a DOOR MIRROR CAP/HOLE COVER. What is that/where is it on the mirror?

A body shop wanted big $$ to paint and repair scrapes on both mirrors. I ordered a driver side mirror cover from the dealership-a Blue already painted for $63+ tax. They have all original colors. Your video made it easy to do it myself. Thanks Bob.

Hi Bob, thanks for the videos! I cracked my side view mirror and unfortunately it's the black plastic housing that is cracked. Seems like I have to buy a whole replacement mirror if I want to fix it. Any ideas?
Yes. Find a local classified in your area for GX’s that are parting out. Here’s one for a 470.

I think you're looking for this. This is a sale from Belle Lexus in Arizona. I always hit them up for everything and they're the cheapest dealership for oem parts. Here is a link they sell your mirror housing.

Ok, so I did all this...and now my mirror doesn't STOP when it unfolds from a folded position. How do I get it back to where it STOPs where it's supposed to instead of unfolded all the way to a position like you had at 1:05
Because Lexus has set a timeframe of mirror travel. You’ve moved your mirrors beyond that min and max. All you have to do is while the mirrors are clicking, move it in the opposite direction little by little until it stops clicking.

I have a premium plus trim 2022 GX it has chrome accents on the mirror, was wondering if you knew whether it requires an entire new mirror cover due to it having holes on the back of the mirror cover? or is it double sided tape? Lol dont want to go destroying the truck just yet. Have had it 16 months one of the first of a handful in NJ that I was able to allocate in Early October 2021 creeping on 20,000 miles. Thanks Bob!

if i were you i would start pulling stuff off carefully and see if the same process applies.
@@GXBOB thanks for the response but it was a month ago. I looked through other channels and it’s identical to the GX. I replaced it with sequential LED turn signals and it makes a word of a difference.

Aftermarket Alibaba calls it a Side wing mirror housing trim and they actually do sell it by itself. We in the US call it Side Mirror assembly housing but we sell the entire assembly and not just the black plastic piece. It’ll be cheaper to find a GX that is parting out. They are ridiculously expensive. Here is an example to start your search.

I need to replace front passenger mirror turn signal lamp for 2015 Lexus LX 570. Does this also apply to my LX 570?
Everything on my channel lends my experience on the GX460 and GX470. If i haven't done so, at least i have the vehicle to experiment with over the weekend. I don't have that luxury with a LX570 to even answer your question with solid answer.

I'm going to use this to see what is causing my issue... when mirrors fold out on ignition start, the drivers side "clicks" and extends out to far. Can I fix this or replace this without removing the door? Dealer cost is $1100. Whoa! No thanks.
There is nothing wrong with your mirror. Its clicking because you've extended the mirrors past its travel ability. Take your fingers and move the mirrors in the opposite direction of the clicking travel. For example: If your mirrors are trying to move to the left continuously and clicking, take your hands and push your mirrors to the right until the clicking stops.
To replace the mirror assembly do I need to remove the whole door penal or I can do that while removing a small plastic panel of the door. gx460 17

Bob, you are a riot. I have been trying to use a hair dryer to get the moisture out of my cracked lens. I am now going to attempt to change it and I am an 81 year old female. I do have a son who could help if I can't do it. Also saw the You Tube with the mirror thingy and I might get this. Thanks Bob
Virginia!!! Nice to meet ya! So a hairdryer might not be the best solution since the power required to do the job can only come from a heat gun. But even that will only be a band-aid if your lense has a crack in it to begin with. The folding mirror plug is a very popular item but be forewarned it takes several weeks to arrive. Enjoy Virginia!
What size is that turn signal bulb? I was waiting for you to pull it out to see. Is it already an led bulb or halogen? Thanks!
i originally wanted to replace it but it seemed like those are part of the light component w/ the lenses as one piece. The lenses were not removable nor was there a removable socket in the back. So i'm guessing the led inside are welded onto some circuit board in there. I didn't bother to crack it open to find out.
Can you do a video how to get to cabin filter housing? I need to remove a plastic piece inside the housing that makes a rattle noise. I feel like the passenger dash leather part could be removed
For some reason that sounds like a 3 week job not including the first 3 hours scratching my ass trying to figure out what comes out first.

hey guys is it normal for the mirrors to burn out?
depends what year your car is. If you're driving a 2003 GX470, then i'd say quite a few things are going to burn out. But even then, i'd never really heard of mirror motors burning out. I would remove the mirror tilt option when you reverse. That uses the motors a lot. I have a video on how to delete that .

Bob thank you again! Some douche banged my side mirror on highway destroying front plastic cover, turn signal, mirror itself and mount to mirror adjustments all other things where fine and i decied to get chinese mirror for 100$ and not waiting month for 4 different oem parts. Gutted it for parts and repainted both mirror cover plastics (my other mirror plastic was scratched so i decided to repaint them both) paint job was another 190$ for both covers in toyotas pearl white color. Labor was 0$ because of your helpfull videos! P.s. i was stunned that parts that i needed from chinese mirror where spot on and you can use them vice versa.

@@GXBOB Dashcam was on but he didnt leave and after i got 1k from insurance. Because of mirror folding inside from impact it scratched my car door glass but i think it could be buffed out. Also iam about to recieve seat spacers will update after instalation.

Is it the same for 2011 GX?
Pulling off the mirror with your hands is general across all Lexus vehicles. They're only held in with clips. Once you remove the mirror, you can figure out the rest by looking at internal clips and screws.
