everytime I listen to some "jewish" jazz music its sounds to me very similar to latin music, there are elements in both styles that seems to be very close to each other
That is because they model their music around similar scales. The phrygian dominant scale is very common in flamenco and middle eastern music, and much of latin music and middle eastern jazz model itself around those styles c: There are other reasons, but that is one of the most obvious in terms of an audible similarity
