We strongly criticize Cathy Newman for exercising such poor journalism and we condemn this type of questioning where bias comes before objective seeking of truth. Cathy Newman: Shame on your parents for giving birth to you, and shame on your kids for having such an ideologically-possessed and illogical mother.
What about the thousands already out there? It's the equivalent of banning the sale of guns in the US only on a smaller scale.
Banning these knives does not make a difference. Do you really think criminals will listen
We cannot push the blame on to the police or others,
when we see knives being openly carried by anyone;
Be Courageous and report it.
Parents and Community have a Responcibility to Protect children and youth by Mentoring them away from this violence.
Just carry a cane sword of your own like the old British gentleman did.
£10 per knife and theres a video on here of american kids buying machetes from wallmart for $5 dollars. ?
Its not the knives its the culture. Bukld more jails
It's already illegal to carry these in public. Banning ownership isn't going to change anything if the preexisting law isn't being enforced already. The knives aren't the problem it's the people. All this does is create a headache for sensible owners/collectors and sellers.
Zombie knife = kitchen knife carried by zombies
What happens next 25th century? .....God Knows
They can make kitchen knives not have pointed ends so people need to wake up to the things we can do
3.5 for manslaughter? I got two and a half for section 20. Absolute joke.
This will definitely stop stabbings.
News that doesn't give you numbers and info.
Over 50,000 knife crimes per year. Or 140 a day.
Won't make a difference --- a murderer can use any sharp object --- like a screw driver or a bicycle spoke ---- so knives can actually become obsolete
Oh wow we banned knifes after banning knifes
It will not make any difference, African culture needs to be talked about,to get this stopped in England.we need peace and long jail times.
Its going to change nothing except the markup on those items
Now that "zombie knives" have been banned, I as a criminal am perplexed by the quandary of where am I going to find a sharp piece of metal with which I can commit crimes? Guess I'll go get a job or somefin, init guv?
Stop telling us that your going to ban them tell us when they are banned stop giving people time to get hold of one before the ban comes into effect
🤡 🐑
Bans are a political response to show that government is doing something, no matter how ineffectual. The issue isn't weapons. It's people losing the sense of community, not feeling safe in public, not having the ability to deal appropriately with their emotions. It's idiotic to believe the law can impact these societal reasons for knife violence.
Other weapons will be found, like a knife!
Knives were already "banned" in public. Laws existed, it was enforcement that was lacking. Creating additional specific legislation to ban blades with a scary name doesn't do anything. It's just political theatre.
Knives don’t kill people, rappers do.
I heard on a documentary on BBC2
Simply bring back capital punishment ffs
Another superfluous law that hurts the innocent. There are existing laws that cover possession and use of offensive weapons. The problem is they aren’t being enforced. The courts are too busy and the prisons too full for the police to be able to make a difference. This Zombie knife law is a distraction from the real problem, that only hurts the innocent. What are gardeners to use to clear overgrown vegetation efficiently now? because you've made the machete illegal? This just underlines the neglect in the schools, police, courts and prisons that successive governments are guilty of.
Bring in a curfew n charge the parents if a child is caught out,,,,
I'm sick of this country n its blatant ignorance,, what is a child doing taking a knife out with them in the first place ? Wtf are they seeing at home ? What are they being taught from home?
How about you increase stop and search and give anyone caught with a knife a 20yr sentence without parole? Just an idea🤷🏻♂️
But how will that empty the prisons for natives making Facebook posts ?
It's not the knives the problem, it's the people.
I have been wearing a knife on me for my entire life (am a French farmer living in France) and funny enough, I never tried to kill anyone with my knives!
@@johnmuthan286 The context matters though doesn't it. There's no reason to be carrying a knife around a city unless you've got a very good explanation
Are you willing to pay for the building, maintenance and staffing costs of the constantly increasing number of new prisons that your plan would necessitate?
Because it’s not predominantly the English doing it, so they call it racist.
they have their own culture
Bet he had his own knives to live by the sword
I thought it was already illegal to carry a bladed article more than 2 inch long anyway what is this law going to do to make the other law more effective? They cant enforce any of it if the police arnt allowed to search people for any knife let alone a so called zombie knife
well - to combat knife crime to that extent the Home Secretary will have to ban ALL knives. Good luck banning kitchen knives........ Most of the knives used in crime in my area are kitchen knives.
Boy! I sure feel safe now…
All knifes injure. But it's who uses them that makes the difference. you could kill someone with a spoon for goodness' sake
So glad I was born in the US
Pretty soon butter knifes and forks will be banned. Next it will be a crime to carry rocks 🪨
What is a zombie knife?
Who makes those stupid films that inspire these pathetic knives ? They should be held to account. Dumbing down of society is serious and deadly.
'africanized culture' = death ...
Muppet comment of the day
It won't make a jot of difference to knife crime we need stop and search
The Americans love British actors playing their medieval roots. The agents and gestures nailed to a tea. That's becuse those traits still live with the British all these centuries later. Royalty has helped keep the identity intact in these ways and imperialism, but the knife is the ultimate symbol of this negative manifestation of time. Shakespearian in all its outcomes and emotional partings. The motivations that require the use of a knife still carry across the spance of time in all its original.
The knife is as primitive as the first fangs and teeth that graced the animals long before the dinosaurs 🦕 😂 jagged and streamlined puncture proof ripping and twisting. When a person kills with a knife, they are like extentions of of face and mouth by proxy of the arm and hand and fingers.
