Saw a little fella once balance his doghouse bass the pin, front, and back then jump up in the waist and bounce his instrument across the stage while he was bent over playing it!
@@gcpd9524 Casey Abrams used to play with PMJ regularly, in the earlier years. He played like this as well. Chances are that both Abrams and "wild Bill" took some inspiration from bassists like Lee Rocker of Stray Cats, as well as others who were in blues and jazz bands before Rocker. Oddly, while back checking names of these bassists, I realized that Sting's instrumental contribution to the Police was bass. OK then. :)
@ Yes I do. They are still pretty obscure though not a lot of people know about them unfortunately. There new album is very good. Rockabilly is such an underrated genre. Elliot James Reay, is also a really cool new artist, very much in the style of Elvis, with a bit of a modern flair. I would definitely recommend him. Also Cole Maxwell is extremely underrated. Cole sounds like he could be the lost Everly Brother.
I foolishly thought that this version would be pretty similar to the original because it's 50's rock vs. 70's rock, right? Then I remembered that this was Scott Bradlee and PMJ, so I buckled up up for the ride. Great job! It had a genuine 50's rock tone and attitude.
What the heck?! How do you hold a bass like that over your head while still playing it? That's crazy talent right there! Forget watching AGT, folks; this is REAL talent!
Согласен...очень здОрово вышло.И по музыке и по подАче.Ещё видел заставки..когда в стиле ранних 60-х классику харда и хеви представляют,в ревайвл-варианте..Тоже залИп..
What a fun spin on this classic! The ‘50s rock ‘n’ roll style brings such a unique touch, and I can’t get enough of Wild Bill’s performance. Keep those good vibes rolling! 🌟🎵
That was amazing. Right after the video, I had to look up how much an upright bass weighs and found that it's between 20 and 25 lbs. Now, I know why he was so winded after the song.
This group's playing is TIGHT! Especially the piano & guitar, which are almost blended as one instrument. Great stuff Guys! Though I can't quite figure out how skinny Wild Bill tosses that Bass around like it's a feather pillow. 😲 🤪
Me every time thinking I couldn't possibly love the new song as much as I loved the last song... PMJ every time "hold my beer" 😂😂 absolute perfection as always 👌 😍 ❤️
It’s the long pause before fading to black that does it for me Also, my thoughts watching this: Oh it’s wild bill! Truly, he is the wildest. Huh. He’s got some range. He’s really not as wild as he once was. Must have used it all up in the other videos. Ope. There we go. That was wild, bill. And he keeps going. Truly, of all the Bills, he is the wildest.
Wow, I listened to the Spotify version first and it didn't really blow my mind; I mean it's really good, but the performance of this one makes it hit so much harder! Watching that actual feat of raw athleticism of the one-armed balanced lift, while keeping perfect time... Awesome!
Killer! Had to do a double take, thought that might've been James Hunter singing and playing bass for a sec! Now I got a new person to add to my list of fav voices!
Just in time for your Thanksgiving weekend reunion at the local '50s diner...
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at PMJ!
PLEASE Cover in the Meantime by Spacehog! I love the all of you! Or We Built this City on 50s Rock and Roll!
🎉👏👍🥳
Wild Bill never ceases to amaze us.
I think you should do a “ DISNEY PRINCESS VERSION of this song.🎵
)
Ok but being able to hold a double bass over your head with one hand while still playing it with that hand is INSANE!!!
Wild Bill is a wild dude
He’s gonna throw his back out playing like that!
Seriously though- Amazing ending!
Saw a little fella once balance his doghouse bass the pin, front, and back then jump up in the waist and bounce his instrument across the stage while he was bent over playing it!
That's a 3/4 bass, just sayin...
There was some serious anime energy there
The world needs more lead double bassists fronting bands.
Yes! My cousin had a jazz band at her wedding with a lead bassist and singer who was so awesome! She rocked the house
As a guitarist I agree with your sentiment 😂
Sure thing!
Way more, indeed!
Up until today the only other band I knew of that featured a Double Bass was The Living End
I just know Phil is up there smiling and falling about the place! Unbelievably great performance!!! Wild Bill is beyond talented.
as Phil would often say 'get your knickers down'
This needs to be a concert opener. Please.
That would be cool but I’ve honestly never seen anyone do what the bass player does and he’s what makes this special

More 50s Rockabilly covers please! 😎🎸🤞👀
Do you know The Baseballs?

I sure do like that 1950's rockabilly and rock 'n' roll sound! My mama introduced me to it, and I'm forever grateful to her for it!
Very unique twist that I like. Love the showmanship done here. ❤
“The Boys Are Back In Town”…AND…this GIRL is happy, happy that they have returned! LOVE it, guys! 💯👏👏🎉 Well done! 👍💖🎶

Fabulous. The music, costumes, energy. PMJ always leave me smiling.

Today I am thankful for THIS.
Philip Lynott is somewhere in
Heaven, laughing his ass off at these brilliant mad men.
Lizzy Rules!
Given how things have been going lately I really needed this. Really put a smile on my face.
same.
Brilliant showmanship! Wild Bill never disappoints!
The amount of determination and reassurance in Bill's eyes is just astonishing. It will be alright.
This was just what I needed to see this morning. Starting my day with a smile.
Always great to see Wild Bill in action doing his thing and singing his way.
Класс! Лучший музыкальный проект за последние годы, что я видел

I played double bass in school. Never in a million years did I think you could play it like THAT.
He does lots of crazy stuff.😊
Great rendition. The drummer is my fav in this performance!!
You mean Henry Cavill cosplaying Freddie Mercury?
Phil Lynott will be happy... that's for sure... Great job fellas ❤
The framing of the kick drum in the waist of the bass is pure genius.
What a great performance brilliantly done 🎼👏👏👏👍
Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott, love it! Awesome!
A bass player's tribute to a great one!
This treatment really suits the song. Well done, gentlemen.
Just AWESOME!
Elvis vibes from the guitarist!
Holy smokes this is fun. Thanks guys!
Real musicians playing real music carefully and precisely. Perfect time, no flubbs.
ROCKABILLY FOREVER!! Thanks!
What a fun spin on this classic! The ‘50s rock ‘n’ roll style brings such a unique touch, and I can’t get enough of Wild Bill’s performance. Keep those good vibes rolling! 🌟🎵
Add the rustle of old vinyl and I'll believe that Wild Bill is not our contemporary. Amazing old school voice!
This dude is something special, keep that energy alive! You are my new inspiration
That was amazing. Right after the video, I had to look up how much an upright bass weighs and found that it's between 20 and 25 lbs. Now, I know why he was so winded after the song.
The boys _do_ be back in town, ngl ngl
True, true, true

Though I can't quite figure out how skinny Wild Bill tosses that Bass around like it's a feather pillow. 😲 🤪
So great. That electric guitar is perfect for this
Это здорово! ❤🎉
Love it. Gotta let the bassist sing on this one.
This is Wild Bill AND the Bruisers. Side note: cool to see both Roger and Ryan on here.
Ok how have i not heard of Wild Bill before??? This guy is amazing.
WOW!!! now THAT's Rock N' Roll, brother!!!
We need more wild bill! Loving the bass heavy cover videos ❤
I was lucky enough to see him live in Nashville it was awesome
Me every time thinking I couldn't possibly love the new song as much as I loved the last song... PMJ every time "hold my beer" 😂😂 absolute perfection as always 👌 😍 ❤️
Perfect song for the holiday. I needed to be reminded of how great this channel is this morning. 😁I think I'll let the playlist run all day.
Grateful to be the soundtrack to your Thanksgiving!
That ending was cool.
Bravo! I give you a standing ovation!
Lead singer playing bass. EXACTLY as it should be. Top work !
This base player is a hoot. Love it - well done boys.
It’s the long pause before fading to black that does it for me
Also, my thoughts watching this:

That’s goooood.
Great showmanship, quality cover of a challenging song, kudos to that piano player doing a lot of the musical heavy lifting.
Been waiting for some rockabilly
Happy Thanksgiving! It’s so awesome to see Wild Bill again after two videos.
Wild Bill never disappoints!
Love this moustache, in November as a nod to "Movember"... Mustache, Mustachio!
I love Wild Bill! Entertainer extraordinaire!
PLEASE Cover in the Meantime by Spacehog! I love the all of you!
Oooooooh good shout
Wow, I listened to the Spotify version first and it didn't really blow my mind; I mean it's really good, but the performance of this one makes it hit so much harder! Watching that actual feat of raw athleticism of the one-armed balanced lift, while keeping perfect time... Awesome!
This oopening is something else...
OMG YES MORE WILD BILL!! FANTASTIC AMAZING
Yes!!! Wild Bill's back and right when I least expected it! Today already off to a great start with this great performance!
Band mates doesn't seem to be that impressed :) ... But I am. Probably the best PMJ video so far. In my opinon. WOW! So cool.
❤😂Insane!😂❤
A bunch of the boys were whooping it up!
❤😂My newest favorite PMJ track😂❤
Faaaaaantastic, in every way!
*stands and applauds wildly* 👏👏👏👏
Killer! Had to do a double take, thought that might've been James Hunter singing and playing bass for a sec! Now I got a new person to add to my list of fav voices!
Itˋs hard to top a Thin Lizzy Smasher, but you did it.
Certainly raised a smile!
Excellent. Absolutely entertaining.
Nice! Gives me a honky-tonk vibe. Lotsa fun!
The way he can lift that thing is insane !! lmao fantastic song !
Geniales como siempre
Another Great version. Wild Bill is the performer for a rockabilly stile cover.
FFS this song has randomly been in my head all day, I don't say a word about it, no phone on me, and then this? Oh yeah, nice cover.
That was great! And Wild Bill sounds just very much like James Hunter!
Loved this you guys are ace
This just makes my day! Thanks a lot!
A perfect example of why I love this channel. Happy Thanksgiving to all. ✌️🙏

Amazing arrangement, it worse so well with this great performance! 😊

Making my day again. :)
My life flashed before my eyes when he hoisted that bass up in the air with one hand and kept plucking with the same hand.
3:52 Intentional cap drop at the end of a one-shot live performance. Wow!😲👍
Well Happy Holidays to all of us! Wild Bill and his gang are back in town!
Great arrangement.
Loved the "Coda"! 🤗
