These builds make me wish I had more than one E!Ike because of how good both the emblem effect and Laguz Friend 4 are. Oh man my Rinkah's gonna love Laguz Friend 4. The Damage Reduction shenanigans it provides legit revives a heck ton of Omnitank strategies. Edit: It also looks sweet on that vanilla Tiki set too... Darn it.
And as usual, Dimitri ends up being a good build options no matter what alt he has and skills IS brings, it's like the dude is goated with nothing but having good builds no matter if any of his alts become outdated or not.
I've been using Laguz Friend on my +10 Brave Dimitri with Godlikes Reflexes and Engage Ike effect and it's been pretty insane. I went to the Lunatic map for Duo Lyon, and beside the pre-combat damage, Dimitri took 3 damage. If only we could get a Null C-Disrupt Seal/Echo/Status Effect and then he could actually hit Lyon back lol. But it's been a lot of fun completely breaking the weapon triangle with it.
Not going to lie when I read the description for laguz friend i thought that even the defensive specials also had to be 3 special cooldown to gain its benefits but when I saw that they had no drawbacks the first person I thought of using the b skill was Legendary female corrin and her negating fang 2.
Problem is units nowadays also get a million in-combat stats alongside a ton of other effects while Xane just gets stats which is sad Really hoping for an awesome refine eventually though, such a cool unit!
E!Ike's engage effect and Laguz Friend 4 are both great to have for your team, but the only downside is that you're stuck choosing between keeping E!Ike for the engage effect or losing E!Ike for a really good B skill to a infantry. Fortunately, I got two so both my L!Dimitri and B!Dimitri will be happy.
I want to pull for Ike so bad but there are so many reasons not to: - The may banner, if it's really both him and Marth is too good - I want Laguz Friend for B!Dima and Diamant, but Dima's HoF might get a rerun so I should really wait - And Diamant is a merge project and his banner reruns tomorrow, so I should really save my orbs - There's not really an ideal rearmed/attuned for Laguz friend anyways because Caeda has an amazing b skill already I'm trying my best to hold off but man the temptation is strong.
If I can get a second Emblem Ike, Im planning to give Laguz Friends to Priam hoping that with A/D finish, luna, Time Pulse, and the emblem effect he can be a good Omni tank.
The really annoying thing that E!Ike's emblem effect can do is give 2 range nukes way more bulk than they should have. You know the ones, the precombat damaging high movement nukes we all know and despise fighting against.
Between being a good user of Laguz Friend and also being one of Emblem Ike's best partners, Gotoh has definitely gained a lot more value. I'm going to be able to spark Ike tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to using the two together.

I pulled an extra Ike so I gave Laguz Friend to Midori. It sounds weird at first, but it pairs insanely well with Little Green's bow. Close Foil, 2 counts of unpassable DR, true damage specials, and a special charge to offset the effect of the bow.
Just a heads up for your Laguz Friend Dimitri build: You can give him Guard Echo now that you dropped BLR. LF4 does drop the DR to 10% but you still get Guard out of it which is a nice little extra.
Do you think S!Lyon would be good with Farmer's Tool, GLR, D Bonus Doubler, Laguz Friend 4, Def/Res Pledge, and Guard Echo? I thought about the arcane swords but the -1 CD would counter LF4. Any insight is appreciated 😊
Sounds good and yeah, he can definitely work well with it! Personal preference but I'd probably use him with Wyvern Katana just like the Scathach build since a dual phase brave is really good offensively and for triggering specials using Pledge!
I caved and decided to use my orb savings on the rearmed/ascended banner and got a few copies of Ganglot. Keen to duplicate this skill! I've put it on my Forma brave Dimitri and he's unkillable. He could even tank Lyon (can't retaliate of course). I haven't decided who else to put it on, maybe Fargus because he's an arena core unit I'll use for a while.
I'm absolutely praying Ilyana wins the next HoF revival batch with all the crazy tools she's gotten lately. It would be really nice to get flare, atk/res finish 4, laguz friend, and atk/res ploy 4 on her without spending any fodder. That combined with her upcoming weapon refine (which probably won't have -1 Special CD, combining with flare) and recent resplendent make her very exciting to work with at this moment.
I gave Laguz Friend to my Legendary Ike! With QP4 he ALWAYS has his Radiant Aether at 2CD, which then gets jumped to full at the start of combat barring any pulse smoke/scowl nonsense. With that he does piercing aethers so he gets max healing and damage too!
Hey PM1 - just a small feedback. I don’t know if it’s a me-problem but depending on the monitor/screen size I think it could be hard over time to always recognize just by the icon which Emblem effect is used, because for me - not looking more intense onto it - it’s a face + hair color and well Marth and Ike both are face + blue hair… and thinking about Sigurd, Chrom, Hector and Lucina also being likeable options in the future it could get a lot more of „face + blue hair“. Maybe at least it’s sth you can think about if a solution is necessary and how a possible solution could look like. Outside of that great video as always. Personally I think about giving No Quarter/DC/Guard Bearing 4 Thea the Emblem Effect of Ike if I ever pull one (more likely in his rerun, where he also shares with Emblem Marth and Kvasir). ^^
How do we feel about Laguz Friend on flame tribe Mordecai? He has no slaying or pierceable DR, has built-in tempo, and also has his built-in def based atk debuff on foes, which synergizes well with the def based flat DR from LF

This skill is soooo good but i don't have orbs to pull. It would be amazing on Askr because I know he eis going to be an amazing mele tank with a far save friend and I always wanted that for light season. Maybe I give that to Guinivere and Duoskr too if I can with the time
The problem with this skill is... it leaves the user vulnerable to Sweep/Dazzle effects, so they get roughshod by poke they can't retaliate to just to get a semblance of bulk. That's the Morton's Fork for you : you either be bulky and not die immediately but will get chipped down and be helpless to do anything about it, or be able to retaliate but be as durable as wet paper. Sure, you could cover the chip damage with En Garde but the real answer is just hp stack via multiple mythics and pray the attacker doesn't have an EP unit.
I wish FEH would make skills this easy to understand instead of these walls of text that are an absolute pain to read and comprehend with how insane they're making the descriptions lately.

I realize this means giving up twin blades special, but I already run normal altina on my team and she has that skill, so I wanted to shake things up and not run the same special. Can you provide some insight on what could be the best way to achieve this? She has great natural bulk so would love for her to be an omnitank with her brave weapon. Perhaps with aegis? I’m confused as 3 why Laguz Friend would be good on any of the Fjorms, they all have a 2 cooldown or less. A majority of the of the skill becomes useless on her because her Special cooldown is 3 Low… 🤔
As as I said in the video, the Special CD is of no concern when taking "Defensive" specials into the account. Their CD doesn't matter at all for getting benefit of Laguz Friend :) The "3 CD" rule is only for "damaging" specials.

I really want a +10 diamant now to put laguz friend on but I dont have the orbs and if I did I would be better off using them on a legendary instead, and it feels like a waste of an emblem to fodder to an unmerged unit. also his banner is rerunning now, so he probably won't appear much from now on, if at all. He'll almost certainly get alts though, maybe we'll get a legendary diamant I can give it to. I should start saving orbs properly again.
I tried giving it to M!NY!Kana and it’s pretty good. It isn’t much stronger than counter roar 4 and doesn’t win him dumb matchups like he still loses to emblem Ike and Duo Lyon obviously.

Hey there, welcome back! :) His Great Aether is not inheritable and inheriting any skills will make him vanish from your barracks forever. I'd recommend keeping him for now because he is one of the best omni-tanks in the game!

so i would not run corrin with +spd. she is on par and potentially better than ike. all she lacks is raw stats. fast units basicaly can't hurt her with laguz friend + negating fang as they lack the insane damage output that the slow nukes have. like i have seen her go all the way to 1 hp with fatal smoke on her but nothing can touch her and on top gets she such an insane damage boost from negating fang that she can oneshots through 70% dr
Yes, it will stack up. It's just that timing of Rally Spectrum jump is different from Laguz Friend. Laguz Friend will give you jump before foe's 1st attack which works for defensive specials.
I think he'd be a decent choice. His def isn't the highest, but then again it's higher than S!Fjorm's def or res and she made the list (though she can reflect damage). For Felix, I think I'd stick with his Godlike Reflexes. Laguz Friend (and true DR in general) works even when paired with other DR, especially unpierceable special DR. That's why all the Laguz Friend builds also had Emblem Ike engaged. Make sure if you fodder Ike you still have a copy to use for Engage. Also, Ike Engage only helps against ranged foes, so if you remove Godlike Reflexes, you're significantly weaker to melee foes since Felix has significantly lower def than most units on this list. His weapon will only be giving 15% DR, Spd Smoke 4 would only give 20% if he activated it, and both could be pierced even further. I think GLR is better. Though, you could go for memes and run Miracle. The 2 cooldown from his weapon turn 1 and another 2 cooldown before foe's first attack mean that it's ready first combat and you can loop it. Just watch out for brave attacks, sweep effects, and getting doubled. The cooldown for Aether would work the same way, he's just way more likely to die before getting to counterattack and heal up.
Based on my experience with the PvE content, I have exactly two units that even come close to being able to beat Ike in combat, neither of which are merged up for arena. I might stop playing the game again if he blocks me in arena.

...which does nothing since modern units have special jumping which guard does nothing against.

There is no cooldown restriction of Laguz Friend with Defensive specials. It only wants 3 or more CD with damaging specials!
Shamelessly giving Laguz Friend to my Sophia since she's a Gen 1 Mage that still has good mixed bulk to this day.

Im planning to give laguz friend to Gatekeeper,with his own flat DR it will be fun .

You lose out on the warp blocking unless you have warp bubble fodder lying around.

How much Dr is Hardy fighter aegis going to have with the emblem effect?
I’m confused as 3 why Laguz Friend would be good on any of the Fjorms, they all have a 2 cooldown or less. A majority of the of the skill becomes useless on her because her Special cooldown is 3 Low… 🤔
As as I said in the video, the Special CD is of no concern when taking "Defensive" specials into the account. Their CD doesn't matter at all for getting benefit of Laguz Friend :)
The "3 CD" rule is only for "damaging" specials.

Am I correct that equipping Emblem Marth to Emblem Ike would throw off LF4 because it would bring the charge for Great Aether down to 2 (assuming I am running Embelm Ike's onboard kit).
Yes, you are correct. That will not synergize well with LF4. The emblem ring for him is not in the game yet, so will need to wait.

arval would be better off running special spiral 4 or attack res tempo 4 :)

I really want a +10 diamant now to put laguz friend on but I dont have the orbs and if I did I would be better off using them on a legendary instead, and it feels like a waste of an emblem to fodder to an unmerged unit. also his banner is rerunning now, so he probably won't appear much from now on, if at all. He'll almost certainly get alts though, maybe we'll get a legendary diamant I can give it to. I should start saving orbs properly again.
I tried giving it to M!NY!Kana and it’s pretty good. It isn’t much stronger than counter roar 4 and doesn’t win him dumb matchups like he still loses to emblem Ike and Duo Lyon obviously.

His Great Aether is not inheritable and inheriting any skills will make him vanish from your barracks forever.
I'd recommend keeping him for now because he is one of the best omni-tanks in the game!

As long as it's a defensive special, it has no cooldown restriction with LF4 :)

Iceberg is an offensive special, so you would need to give up on Emblem Marth or run Glacies instead.

Yes, with high enough Res he can make good use out of LF4 and losing some DR is fine as you make up for it by getting the Flat DR!

so i would not run corrin with +spd. she is on par and potentially better than ike. all she lacks is raw stats. fast units basicaly can't hurt her with laguz friend + negating fang as they lack the insane damage output that the slow nukes have. like i have seen her go all the way to 1 hp with fatal smoke on her but nothing can touch her and on top gets she such an insane damage boost from negating fang that she can oneshots through 70% dr

Yes, it will stack up. It's just that timing of Rally Spectrum jump is different from Laguz Friend.
Laguz Friend will give you jump before foe's 1st attack which works for defensive specials.

CD does not matter for defensive specials. The rule is only there for damaging specials.

I think he'd be a decent choice. His def isn't the highest, but then again it's higher than S!Fjorm's def or res and she made the list (though she can reflect damage). For Felix, I think I'd stick with his Godlike Reflexes. Laguz Friend (and true DR in general) works even when paired with other DR, especially unpierceable special DR. That's why all the Laguz Friend builds also had Emblem Ike engaged. Make sure if you fodder Ike you still have a copy to use for Engage. Also, Ike Engage only helps against ranged foes, so if you remove Godlike Reflexes, you're significantly weaker to melee foes since Felix has significantly lower def than most units on this list. His weapon will only be giving 15% DR, Spd Smoke 4 would only give 20% if he activated it, and both could be pierced even further. I think GLR is better. Though, you could go for memes and run Miracle. The 2 cooldown from his weapon turn 1 and another 2 cooldown before foe's first attack mean that it's ready first combat and you can loop it. Just watch out for brave attacks, sweep effects, and getting doubled. The cooldown for Aether would work the same way, he's just way more likely to die before getting to counterattack and heal up.
Based on my experience with the PvE content, I have exactly two units that even come close to being able to beat Ike in combat, neither of which are merged up for arena. I might stop playing the game again if he blocks me in arena.
I honestly think this is the skill to fix L!Ike.
