    Thank you Dr.Caeser
1-Could you please clarify your exact entry site? (Intracaruncular or subcaruncular...?)
2-do you do it sometime without doing osteotomy and flaps in patients with no history of prior DCR?
    Regards
    Mazen

Hi Mazen. In reply 1- subcaruncular. 2- No. My opinion is that the osteotomy is essential to allow some movement of the tube without it touching any bony wall, against which it could slowly "hitch" out of position. It is an interesting question however whether this is still relevant when using the stoploss tube. Some osteotomy is always required to allow the tube into the nose, but the flaps may be less important with this tube design. Best wishes

Hi Mostafazahir. It is safe to do cataract surgery in the presence of a LJ tube. Aprokam intracameral is advised at the end of the surgery. Best wishes. Ric

I’ve had 4 surgery using the Jones tube and not one has worked. This has been over a period of 3-1/2 years . Waiting to hear when I am going to have another surgery. They are going to use this type of Jones tube this time. I sure hope it works this time.

      Dear Susan
This is the best design yet!
I wish you the best of luck, when the LJ tube is in good position it can work a treat. Fingers crossed for you next surgery.

Am in need of having a stoploss lester jones tube placed, since have had multiple complications with jones tube since placement. It is still sutured in. Suture out at 6wks and then re-sutured back in due to continual slipping upward and me having to continually push back in. Need names of experienced, trained ophthalmologist to insert this. Would a list of qualified, experienced with stoploss drs, be a possibility to get sent to my e-mail.

If you contact the company that makes the stoploss tube, I'm sure they would be able to help.
      Best wishes

You should be fit for pretty much everything, although rugby and boxing may not be ideal.
      No problem with exercises.
      Best wishes

Dear Dr Attar. Yes in theory but it requires some back pressure. Patients with any type of LJ tube learn to cover the ocular opening if they are about to sneeze, or risk some lateral spray.
A smoker could in theory inhale, hold their mouth and nose shut and blow smoke out of the LJ tube.
