This is definitely the best Mx5 build on UA-cam. Even better its in the UK. Just sped run the whole series til now, cant wait to see this thing actually being driven. Great car knowledge from you!!!
I know tegiwa sell 4" velocity stacks that come with air filters on them, so you get the best of both i suppose. The filters look like they would fit in that space easily
I like the bell-mouth (the burnt titanium one) BUT how are you going to keep stuff from being ingested into the turbo? At the very least put a screen on the opening. If this was my car, I'd put a filter on, no matter how "bad" it might look.
M8 that’s how aircraft engine works. Have a look some videos. It’s all about pressure and velocity of the air. The air speeds up as reaching the tighter dia.
I think that aluminized velocity stack would do ya good with just a short run intake pipe to behind that headlight , but I like the burt look .. I feel the aluminized bigger bell will actually do more for ya as to flow tho tbh .... I just run a turbo guard , but I'm a dingdong anyways lol 😆 🤪... really brotha it's what makes you happy , but performance wise , I think the bigger bell and a short ram will do you the best for flow .. and they make turbo guards big enuf for velocity stacks if you worry of that (street drive mine so I atleast did a guard , but a filter was restricting my flow so that's on you if u go full filter or just a guard ) but yeah man , it's looking good and hope ya can get to rip it soon brotha .. peace and love bro , keep it rad , stay safe , and build on .. l8z
Think of all the effort and money you've put in to this build, and the skill you've used to build it. Think of all the engineering knowledge that has gone into the parts you've used by all the independent manufacturers. It's been a massive undertaking and it's become a thing of functional and physical beauty. When you're at car meets or shows, when you're at photo shoots, or if you're standing around B&Q car park with your bonnet open late at night, by all means, fit your velocity stack. But come on, behave yourself. Put a filter on it.

😊😊😊thank you that means the world to me. i cant wait either
Titanium bell with mesh behind it to protect the spooly
yeah i just gotta find out how to do the mesh bit
@@Project380 make a mesh cap to sit over the turbo flange, then silicone coupler over the top with jubilee to keep it all in place

ahhhh i completely forgot about Tegiwa, ill go take a look
Something im toying with on my mk1 is running a custom pipe from the tsi intake into the filter and then on into the turbo
yeah if this was a mk1 i definitely would be doing this
I do like the burnt blue one with the blue pipe. OR how about that massive silver bell mouth but have it chrome gold ❤
thanks mate, no gold on the car at the mo so it might not go nice

thank you, yeah ill look into a guard

ahhh your right, thank you
@@Project380 cmon u helped me a lot during my built. Thank u

thank you 😊. its good to hear a real world experience so yeah ill look into some sort of guard. much love bro
My Vote is for HKS, no filtration all the noises
HKS filter?
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
anything is an instrument if you use it wrong enough
