Love that you are in Myanmar! I haven't been home in about four years so it's super calming and nostalgic to see in your videos! You are also super articulate so it's fun to watch.
Another fantastic vlog! Your tour of the local market was a delightful journey, offering a wealth of information about the local culture and people. It’s always refreshing to see positive reviews about our country. Your work contributes greatly to showcasing the beauty and diversity of our nation. Keep up the excellent work!

It was a nice market tour. And the people there are very nice.. I want to try that sugarcane candy, too. 😊 Enjoy your Inle lake journey with Mr. T... Be safe
Thanks, Myer! I accidentally popped up your video and this was my hometown. I live abroad now, so your video gives me a missing-home vibe. I knew all the places, and all the foods, and I saw some familiar faces like a teacher. Again thank you for showing off my hometown in your video.
Yes, these people are so polite and warm hearted than any other part of the country. You can buy Shan traditional clothes at the shop opposite to the Maths teacher’s house. You can also get clothes with stickers like “Welcome from Myanmar “.
Custard Apple is sold all over SE Asia, it’s quite common especially here in Thailand, Hog Plum also. The people look very similar to locals in and around the border areas to Thailand. In fact this could easily be like a local village in northern Thailand or Laos
I used to live in there for a couple of year, everything is good and my dream place to settle when I get older. You just made my day and I can't wait to see you on the boat in the middle of Inle Lake. I am quite confident to say you gonna love the Amazing Inle Lake ❤ (sry 4 my sloppy English)
The fruit you was interested is Sugar Apple (called “au:ja si” in Burmese). The leaves that you tried for bitter taste is Senna siamea (called “Mezali” in Burmese).
wow you are lucky you have someone who knows all those things and names, how to use them. I grow up in Myanmar but I don't even some of ingredients exists let alone how to use them.

Hi Myer, that fruit you saw in the market, with blister like skin, is sarifa, or in some states in India it is Sita phal. In english custard apple. May be it wasn't the season when you visited India and Pakistan
There are 135 ethnic in the country so you can get traditional outfit almost everywhere in Myanmar. You were in Kalaw and Shan State so it is very easy to get Shan Traditional Clothes as souvenir to friends when u get back. Beside they are very comfortable and is suitable for any season while staying at home. Your friend wasn't able to think about it because he have been staying in that region his whole life and for him it is like an everyday thing XD.
The fruit you are showing is Custard apple. I am from Maharashtra state in India. We call it Sitaphal. Phal means a fruit. There is a Ram phal also which is bigger. I have both the trees in my garden. 😊
Very nice food market. A variety of cultrual foods on sale. You have nice dinosaur teeth. Back molars will deal to most foods. Fermented foods, yeah just for a taste. Although i do eat femented corn. Strong on smell, totally different taste with cream and sugar. Anyway Myer my guess at what the premiere was going to be, nah far from it. Wrong guess. The presentation to sell there foods, perfect. Friendly people. I enjoyed the market tour. Safe travels Thankyou for sharing Myer.
03:19 The two ladies smile when you said "Gway Tee" its a name of a fruit but alternative meaning is "scrotum" 😅 Myer trying everything at the market is so wholesome. 😊 enjoy the Shan Ethnic culture there :D Shan people also live in Northern Thailand and China. Nyaungshwe is still the outermost part of Shan State.... the deeper you go after that ..... people start speaking only in their ethnic language and they dont usually speak Burmese. These exotic areas are unfortunately the most conflict ridden areas not accessible for tourism.
After you visit Inlay lake and you can visit Mandalay Bro , Mandalay have so many architecture in Myanmar . Palace ,Mahamuni Pagoda and U - Bein bridge there have so many beautiful place in Myanmar.
