He wasn't in the fullbringer arc and we get no flash back or hint and the moment he calls it out we cut to Zangetsu having all the pieces slowly connect and just go "OH OH MY OH MY FUCKING GOD" It was done so well to and makes sense and doesn't hurt the past(Don't Include Filler Zanpaktou Rebellion Arc).

Only when the Squad Zero blacksmith tampered with his real zampakutou Ichigo managed to reach again Old Man Zangetsu and see also his hollow self before they vanished
no way you took the name of eos along with chainsawman and bleach id rather say attack on titan or even one piece ( even though i dont even watch it but pretty sure its in an important stage of its story )
