It blows my mind that there is more homeless people in LA then there is people in my entire CITY. We have about 40,000. And around 50,000 at peak working hours. The numbers are astonishing
Dam, the guy with the cone putting water on the warming fire was a rookie... I thought that they didnt send rookies to 9, thats a VERY interesting/difficult house to be at as a rookie I imagine. Wow
At my department the rookies usually get sent to the busiest station because the high call volume helps them learn their skills quickly. Also they’re surrounded by guys who know what they’re doing and can teach them better than the guys at some of the slower stations
Some of the biggest idiots in the world is that it's their fault that their homeless, yes sometimes it's a bad work ethic but holy crap no one deserves this. God bless these brave people true Americans
That's a lot of running and a very high stress level but if you look at it from a different View they are pretty much the busiest taxi on the West Coast. stay safe!
@Snarley Shark Not every run you make is life threatening. Being a store clerk, garbage guy, mailman, security guard , cop, ect, can be bad at times but most of the time it's just a job. You probably do it for the excitement of the siren/attention anyway and to be in the know in your community.
I don't work at a house quite as busy as this, but I for sure wouldn't want to work another schedule. I enjoy my 24 hour shifts, and anything less is unappealing. With that said, I draw the line at 48s. I've worked as long as a 96, and I can confidently tell you I won't be doing that again soon. Aside from wanting to help (the main reason I do it), the schedule is one of the reasons I do this job.
@Snarley Shark most "surplus army equipment" is bought using grant money, not the police budget. The majority of police funding is used for payroll and patrol vehicles.
@Snarley Shark right, well when my local department gets called to a barricaded person in an apartment or store who is shooting at them with an assault rifle i feel like I would personally enjoy having the protection of an armored truck or two. Just because they aren't used every day doesn't mean they are a waste. You seem generally unfamiliar with emergency services.
Kudos to the guy who stops the traffic for the rigs, trying to do his little bit to help things, shame there ain't more out there with his ethos.
Those are some deep words
Life is hard
The average person doesn’t know how lucky they are
90 some calls a day... Imagine writing all those call reports...
Its probably the most simplified report ever lol
@@keaton7305 hey we have the same name XD
@@Keaton0801 and same call details too
Now with Covid....hell on earth. I admire the men and woman who respond to these calls. God bless them and protect them as they serve humanity.
Yup I pass by skid row when I have business downtown. Very much hellish
God bless them
The man doing traffic control, an absolute inspiration to say the least.
Could not have said it any better.
Thanks to all first responders God bless and thank you all.
Thank you for your service to an uncaring society
God bless these men and women ✨ Praying for LA
god bless every first responder on this world
Get these guys a damn electronic gurney... wtf

Did they seriously superimpose some stock audio of a volunteer department with a house siren getting a dispatch!? SERIOUSLY!?
Nicely done!!

May God bless you.
We need a National holiday for them
they could get by with moving the truck and engine elsewhere and adding a few more med units to this house
There's 2 engines, 1 tiller, 1 command unit (I belive) and 4 Ambulances they are the most staffed station in LA.
the system is failing the ones who actually want to get better, the rest are all failing themselves
L.A.F.D. ENGINE 9 & ENGINE 209 & TRUCK 9 & ALS-RESCUE 9 & BLS-RESCUE 809 & ALS-RESCUE 209 & BATTALI0N 5 & E.M.S. 5 TASK F0RCE 9's
They really mean as hell they talk to you like a animal behind them ambulance facts!!
Time to switch to 10 hour days and 14 hour night shifts, for the sake of these guys, many other departments do this
I live right across the street from the station 9
Cool
TASK F0RCE 9's / LAFD
state is out of control. AND I KNOW WHY!
Liberal policies set this kinda environment for these guys to deal with
Sadly. I live in LA but I’ve secretly swallowed the red pill
@@Emma-nw2xg I live in the Bay Area so I’m in the same boat
Being a fire fighter is the only job that people will volunteer to do for free so it couldn't be really bad.

why cant they hire more people and work 12 hour shifts instead?
I think that you'd find they like their shift schedule, even if they're busy as hell.

Do they really use a House Siren or is that just dupped in?
Dupped in
