R.I.P Mr Sindon, you have brought such great pleasure and laughter to so many over the years. I will always remember you in Never the twain and Two's Company, God bless you sir.
Barry Cryer and John Junkin were the script writers for their early Thames TV episodes but were later dismissed by Eric and Ernie.Eddie Braben was brought in after 1980. Thames TV let Eric and Ernie down with poor production values and scripts. If they had retired after 1977, then who knows they could have enjoyed a renaissance in their careers like Frankie Howerd enjoyed in the early 90's.
I always remember the spitting image shows where Donald Sinden kept saying how he was a "Sir" and the hotel he was booking into said "Sir"? I have no booking for a sir Donald Sinden, only a Donald Sinden.. so funny. I love the little puppy bit in this clip :)
Although Eric and Ernie were without their writer, Eddie Braben, their producer, John Ammonds, or the (then) incredible backing of the BBC, they were still better than anyone else and they still are.
+dlamiss That is what a serious heart condition does to your health. In 1979 he had a massive heart attack and had to have surgery to save his life. The surgery gave Eric five extra more years of life.
Leonard Rossiter, Eric Morecambe, Tommy Cooper, Arthur Lowe, John LeMesurier, Arnold Ridley, Harry H Corbett, John Laurie, Edward Sinclair, Peter Butterworth, Arthur Brough, Harold Bennett, to name but a few between those years you mentioned who died.
Sir Donald Sinden a terrific actor. Loved him in Two's Company with Elaine Stritch.

Absolutely bloody hilarious, I haven't laughed that for years - made the tears roll down my face
Style and humour at its best. Thank you.
Love the way he speaks.
2021 still excellent.
Donald Sinden was pure class.
R.I P❤
A classic. So funny, nobody around, anywhere near as good, these days!
R.I.P Sir Donald Sinden.
Nice to laugh. Tv these days either offends, upsets or frightens you. Bring on the sunshine
Just Fantastic.

Wonderful!
Heard today of Sir Donald's passing. RIP.
Sad day.
Script by Eddie Braben? Wonderful!
A marked improvement on the pair’s earlier sketches.
Braben didnt write this, He stayed at the BBC until 1980

Colin Campbell also he would say to The Queen "Its about my knighthood "
Love the way DS used to role his R’s current becomes currrent.

Look at the 77 christmas show and then look at this sketch from 10 months later. Eric Morecambe looks about 5 years older.

"It is all based on fear" - this was a line he always used in interviews. You could take it as his approach to comedy or to life or to both.

I don't think we have the same calibre of comedy actors and performers today
John King We don't have any comedians at all!
I think that was John Junkin who said "the plates are red hot!, the plates are red hot!"
Comedy greats ♥
Nowhere near their best, they should never have left the beeb.
Did I detect a song cue there at the end?
Boom ooo yatta-tata
Anybody remember he series he did with Elaine Stritch? Wonder if it's on here yet?
+Lucia Tilyard Never The Twain. Yes it is on youtube.
+Lucia Tilyard No he did Twos company with Elaine Stritch and Never the twain with Windsor Davies
Hilarious 😂😂😂
Hilarious
Oh dear, they were dire after they left the BBC.
Their usual writer was under contract to the BBC, so couldn't move with them to Thames TV.
I'm not so sure about the comedy on this one..had their script writers changed
That could have been funny all the correct words not necessarily in the right order
Cancel. It's funny and it doesn't offend me enough.
Hard to even bother trying to watch this, their career crumbled into rehashed old material and very average stuff like this .... ugh!!
Typical upper class
Too LOUD! Deafening!!
Two of a kind. Simply brilliant. And DS was at his nefarious best in my fav comedy series, Never The Twain.
