@@f0xtai168 Hello! College freshman here. College is really different from high school. In high school you have a full day with lessons and work time for a full year (typically). In college you just go to lecture and do all of your work outside of class (typically) for one semester (then you pick new courses for your next semester). This means that whatever takes a year to teach in high school, is taught in 16 weeks in college (it can be hard at times, but I have survived so far haha). It depends on the classes that you take, but they tend to be challenging. I definitely recommend doing concurrent enrollment or take AP classes to at least get a feel of what College courses are like (if you aren't already). For concurrent enrollment, some schools may give free tuition or tuition scholarships. So it is definitely worth looking into if your high school allows it. Most kids in the US go to school via the bus or car and their schools either have all the classes in one building or covered walkways to get to the outdoor ones. If you go to a place that is windy though, umbrellas are useless. They try to take you away like Mary Poppins, but you are too heavy and the umbrella breaks.

I dress up at least 2 days a week because I don't have class in the mornings. But on the days where I have an early class and have a PE class, I will often just wear comfortable workout clothes. And take a nap in my car in-between classes.
As a soon-to-be freshie, I’m absorbing any advice I can get like a sponge, so thank you for this! However, I will forever be stubborn about dressing up for class every day because I’ll be damned if I’m not the most dapperly-dressed mf in the room
I wore jeans to all my classes for the first week of my first year. I have worn pajamas to every single class since that day and I'm now in the last few weeks of my second year. No one asks, no one says anything. Sometimes people just quietly nod or give a thumbs up
College attire is so funny to me because I study architecture and we share the building with the faculty of design as well so you know, most people are VERY well dressed every day. But oh boy when exam period rolls around the corner… you will not catch a single person with brushed hair, makeup or even wearing jeans😂 it’s yoga pants, tons of caffeine and messy hair for WEEKS
After going through my whole life having to do class after class I ain’t gonna make my schedule like that. I need a mental break after each thing, maybe even add in a few notes I forgot or didn’t have time for. I also just need time to process the information before I’m thrown into the next thing
i’m from western washington so carrying an umbrella is just a bizarre idea. it’s either gonna break from the wind or the rain comes down from several different angles making it useless. only thing saving you from any of the different types of rains we got would be rain jacket and waterproofed shoes. of course some people still got some but i usually see umbrellas on sunny days
I dressed up every day for college because it was one of the only things that brought me joy. It just depends on if you’re refreshed by being able to dress down or dressing in cute clothes makes you feel better. Do become an expert about how to dress cute AND comfy though because that is crucial.
I like to dress up to class, I dress up like I just woken up, like I'm homeless, like I'm a skater, like I own a small business. The earlier the class the less effort I put into it and that's okay. Some of my friends go in pj's and crocks to class and honestly I don't notice until they point it out
I was taking classes from 9am to 9pm and I had no other choice. It was miserable. Explanation: As a graphic design major that completed my general education and got my associates degree in high school, I could only take advanced courses. In the art world, those were only lab courses, each being 3 hours long. So if I wanted to reach 15 credit hours per semester to keep my vital scholarships, as well as graduate in 3 years for cost efficiency and time (I already had 2) I had to do this. I made it fine with all A’s, but it was a fight every day.
That bit about not scheduling your classes back to back depends. I think for the most part it's a good idea to do that. It's a more efficient use of your time. You'll be in the learning mode for the day or two you have classes. Unless your taking a class you know is real fucking headache I would recommend trying to keep classes within 2-3 days
Commuter student here. It doesn’t matter if you have a car either. Most parking lots are a good 5-10 minute walk away from all the buildings, and when it’s pouring, you’re gonna need that umbrella.
Me and my multiple chronic illnesses can barely handle 4 classes spread over the week ;3 I have 2 classes on Mondays and wednesdays, starting at 11 or so, and then one class on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Friday starts at 8 am and then at 11 I take the bus home but the other clases start at nearly 1 pm. Still can barely get through a lot of days :( Able bodied people please be thankful you can actually do so many classes without passing out and being sick constantly!
Me, a music ed major: wait y’all have the choice to not have like 15 classes in a day. I have 17 credit hours… most of my classes are 1 credit hour each.
I have a car and an umbrella, jacket, and blankets always. If u haven’t done it do itttt. Especially if ur AC/heater blows out too blankets will save ur life literally. And all ur friends will love u bc it’s so cozy.
My friend donated his raincoat to a clothing swap his first semester and he realized how much of a mistake it was after his umbrella broke bc it’s unbelievably windy here

I dress up at least 2 days a week because I don't have class in the mornings. But on the days where I have an early class and have a PE class, I will often just wear comfortable workout clothes. And take a nap in my car in-between classes.
this dude is good for social college tips and gohar khan is good for highschool/college admission tips
As a soon-to-be freshie, I’m absorbing any advice I can get like a sponge, so thank you for this! However, I will forever be stubborn about dressing up for class every day because I’ll be damned if I’m not the most dapperly-dressed mf in the room
THANK YOU! i'm going to be going to collage in september to study design tech so wish me luck
The last one is 100% fact!!
“Don’t dress up for class”
Me, a fashion major: Guess I’ll die
I don’t bring an umbrella with me anywhere cause it just like doesn’t rain where I live-
Where I’m from dressing up for class is not only common, but sometimes is recommended, especially at exams!
the first one is so funny to me because that sounds lovely
College classes especially 8am’s are no fashion show. I’ve seen people in some of my classes show up looking like they just rolled out of bed 😂
Thanks for the tip on schedules, now i know how to cut out more social interaction!
After going through my whole life having to do class after class I ain’t gonna make my schedule like that.
I need a mental break after each thing, maybe even add in a few notes I forgot or didn’t have time for.
I also just need time to process the information before I’m thrown into the next thing
I have a friend who’s backpack got soaked and their laptop was ruined. Umbrellas are your friend lol.
Thing about the rain, I grew up in a rainforest, no one there uses an umbrella, if you are used to the rain there’s nothing to worry about
as a freshman in college the idea of taking 4 back to back classes makes me want to die especially since i have a 30 minute commute there and back
So relatable 😂
I start college in the fall, so every one of these videos I see of yours, I write down the info😂
*when Raggedy Anne dolls scare you because of the Annabelle situation*
this might be problematic for me cause i never fail to overdress every day of the mfing week
Outside of the junior and senior years don't talk to people outside of class. Don't waste your time, keep busy and work hard on work and studies.
Yup those 8am classes suck. I had to take a 2 hour bus/train/walk commute to my 8am class. I was definitely not getting dolled up for that
i’m from western washington so carrying an umbrella is just a bizarre idea. it’s either gonna break from the wind or the rain comes down from several different angles making it useless. only thing saving you from any of the different types of rains we got would be rain jacket and waterproofed shoes. of course some people still got some but i usually see umbrellas on sunny days
Bringing an umbrella is so crucial. It helps so much during sunny days too
it only rains when you don't have an umbrella
Remember u can dress up if u want. Be yourself, if people judge u then theyre just 🤌insecure🤌
I dressed up every day for college because it was one of the only things that brought me joy. It just depends on if you’re refreshed by being able to dress down or dressing in cute clothes makes you feel better. Do become an expert about how to dress cute AND comfy though because that is crucial.
You don't need an umbrella you need a jacket that's waterproof
I like to dress up to class, I dress up like I just woken up, like I'm homeless, like I'm a skater, like I own a small business. The earlier the class the less effort I put into it and that's okay. Some of my friends go in pj's and crocks to class and honestly I don't notice until they point it out
I was taking classes from 9am to 9pm and I had no other choice. It was miserable.
Explanation:
As a graphic design major that completed my general education and got my associates degree in high school, I could only take advanced courses.
Ha, I’m from Washington, I can handle rain. No umbrella needed
You may have just saved me from making some horrible mistakes. You have my thanks. And my subscription.
Me taking notes for this fall
I love how I watch these videos as a middle schooler
“You can embarrass those people on the weekend” why is that so true
Me seeing a man dressed in a large fluffy pink snuggie and slippers in my 2pm lecture thinking “that is a smart man”
Wish you'd said this to my classmates. They always commented on everyone else's appearance (and these weren't even traditional students)
Still can barely get through a lot of days :(
Able bodied people please be thankful you can actually do so many classes without passing out and being sick constantly!
I dont even shower before class most of the time
Rain boots are a big one too
Me, a music ed major: wait y’all have the choice to not have like 15 classes in a day. I have 17 credit hours… most of my classes are 1 credit hour each.
“And you’ll never do it again” that’s a blatant lie and you know it
That was horribly specific 😂
That back to back classes I regret!!!
These videos are actually rly informative
Thanks for sharing....Everything you said is so TRUE... Especially the dressing up part :-)
As a uni student I can 100% stand behind all his points
I have a car and an umbrella, jacket, and blankets always. If u haven’t done it do itttt. Especially if ur AC/heater blows out too blankets will save ur life literally. And all ur friends will love u bc it’s so cozy.
Me in middle school having an umbrella in my backpack
I always kept an umbrella in my backpack just in case, it came in handy many times
Me who keeps an umbrella with me: "...Well then."
My friend donated his raincoat to a clothing swap his first semester and he realized how much of a mistake it was after his umbrella broke bc it’s unbelievably windy here
