This feels like gleefully running through a dreamscape of radical wonder and beauty. Both cosmic and mystical, dark wave meets cyber punk cool. Woof woof. Sincerely, Guard Dog Records
I hope I'll find the time to finally learn to use my QY70 as well. I haven't featured it in any of my videos yet. Looks like you are pretty familiar with its workflow.
I've been off and on with it for a few years but finally took some quality time to get into the nitty gritty of it. I'll tell you man, after some familiarization I find Yamaha sequencers fit my brain better than almost anything else. I do recommend a good programmable MIDI controller in order to more sound shaping. I think the Korg microKontrol is the *best* match since it's battery powered as well.
Awesome work, I can tell you’ve spent a lot of time with the QY70! Have you tried song mode and using the chord follow feature? I can see the potential, but it also seems like most people I see using the QY70/100 do everything in pattern mode. I get why, but it seems like there is a lot of versatility in song mode as well…
Hello!! So, I just purchased a qy70, and after few experimentations, the memory is now full. I wanted to know how can I find the data filer program compatible with my mac 10.13? or how do you export your songs data please?
Drop me a message if you're still running into problems. The data filer program is very very old so alternate tools for raw MIDI dumps might need to be used.
This is great, got me subscribed. I do have a question, I produce mainly digitally on my phone but find most daws completely overwhelming. I've been trying to dip my toes into hardware and this piece has always caught my interest, would you recommend for a complete beginner in DAWless music making? Thx in advance
Thank you so much! I'm going to be real and say that *any* of the Yamaha QY* line is not really beginner friendly. They are very powerful but the side effect of Yamaha trying to build a device that is an arranger, sequencer, and practice accompaniment tool all in one means that there are a lot of quirks. On the other hand they are still cheap enough (still half the price of an original Novation Circuit) that if you want try it, invest the time, read the manual, sequence a few patterns and then decide if it's for you or not then it's not that much of a financial question. Just a time question. I hope that helps!
came here from reddit. very awesome song.
grrrrrrrrrreat! 👏 it's amazing that all this music comes from that one device 😳🤯
Very very impressive. I didn't know you could get such intricate sequences on that old hardware.
Sick
dang, this is what needs to show up on my feed!
Fantastic tune!
