I bought hey little antenna from Walmart and I modified works well! But the problem with it I had to put a regular cable wire on it because the original wire it comes with it is a piece of crap! I get everything!
It's better than nothing, but 11 channels these days isn't great. For $20 you can get a cheapo antenna that should get you more than 20 channels if you're within 40 miles of a city. Or for even less money worth of materials and some parts you might have around the house, you can make an even better one.
What is the transformer that you are using to connect the coat hanger wire to the coaxial cable? What search term should I use to find the correct piece to purchase on eBay or Amazon?
Number of Channels 'Pulled in" has as much or More to do with your distance from the Broadcaster as the antenna used... at the right distance/orientation you could get similar results from sticking a Paper clip (Bend into an L and sand it) into the Hole in the middle of your co-ax Port on the TV
this may work a while indoors...but outdoors it would become a rust corrode magnet. i think i am going to take a stab at ceiling tile ties. see how that performs

It is not a HD antenna. I get so sick of this. If your TV is HD no matter what antenna you put up,,if it will receive it in HD. Your TV has no other choice. You can literally take 2 wires and pick up many TV station depending on your distance from the broadcast statation. You can not put up an antenna that does not receive HD. Me myself and I have 2 pieces of tinfoil receiving 35 channel. That is even bad considering I live 35 miles to nearest broadcasts station.So yes it is a HD antenna at the same time. Try putting up an antenna that does not pick up HD. Can it be done ?Watch the southern dude put up his ultimate antenna. Aluminum has no problems receiving television signals. It is what TV Antennas from places Like WalMart are made of. It can be bought cheaply I used Old Part's from a broken Antenna for My Home Made TV Antenna.
I used steel coat hangers to make different type of hdtv antenna and it works great. And I live way out in the country and pick up stations 40 to 50 miles away crystal clear. Nothing wrong with steel hangers

Get yourself an outdoor antenna, especially if you have trouble catching VHF channels!
