One doubt... Actually u[n] is a power signal because it is a bounded signal with finite amplitude.. Not because it is periodic.. In any circumstances it is not periodic.
Nice vedios u have made.....very helpful for everyone.....May God bless you ....but ..for question x[n]=a^n u(n)......there are three cases....... |a|={1,-1} function is power signal, |a|>1 neither energy not power signal and |a|
thanku so much sir for video which is very helping to guide line to the student who unable to pay lots of mony for preparing gate exam..... thanku you so much.
sir how come u[n] be a periodic signal? it does not exist from -infinity to +infinity similarly u(t) is also non periodic as it does not exist from -infinity to +infinity another reason for the u(t) not becoming zero is we cant say its time period periodic signals are those which exist from -infinty to +infinty and their time period is defined throughout
Summation -N to N cos2(theta) /2 is coming as 1..sir can u please tell that how it is coming 0.I have only this doubt and thankyou for making this and continuous time video this help a lot to solve question from Alan oppenhieum book.
Firstly, thank you so much for these helpful explanations. But there is one thing that I could not understand. How u[n] can be periodic signal? It can only be periodic from zero to infinity or minus infinity to minus one. But not from minus infinity to infinity, right?
It's Σ from -N to N of cos(π * n)/2 since θ in the question is (π/2)*n and thus, cos2θ is cos(π * n). Now since N can only be a discrete value, if you consider N as 1, it will be cos(π)/2 which is -1/2. If N is 2 it will be cos(2π)/2 which is 1/2. Similarly, if you consider negative values of N like -1, it will become cos(-π)/2 which is -1/2. If N is -2 it will become cos(-2π)/2 which is 1/2. Now since it's a summation, and as you can see it's alternating between -1/2 and 1/2 always, the values will cancel out each other leaving you with 0.
a power n multiplied u(n) is non periodic....but at the end u said that it was periodic and u dertermined power for that signal i.e 5u(n)=25/2 how it is possible
Shrenik Jain that was not my doubt at 7:12 the power for function "a power n multiplied with u(n)" is 1/(1-a2) cant we apply that for 5u(n) then power becomes 1/(1-5*5)=1/-24
We r taking the square of mod na in example the question was a^n and when u do mod square of that function it becomes a^2n that's what sir did directly!

Really , these are the best videos for signals and systems
One doubt... Actually u[n] is a power signal because it is a bounded signal with finite amplitude.. Not because it is periodic.. In any circumstances it is not periodic.
And the thing is that all periodic signals are energy signal except u(n)
Yes , aperiodic signals are energy signals and vice versa. But .....All periodic signals are power signals but the converse is not true .

Super explanation and good tricks
Hi Sir, in discrete energy & power signals, the sum of N samples of cosine term is tends to zero. Can I get the explanation in detail?
Thank you sir, Adonai will bless you 🤗❤
Thank YOU FOR THE CLARITY SIR.
Excellent! Good job. Thank you.

Thanks a lot but please can you help me with this un(n) and u(n)-u(n-6) and er(n)-r(u-4) are they power or energy signal or neither of the them
Nice video sir.Sir,please make video on how to draw waveform of the functions in signal& systems.
Thank you very much sir🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! very well explained!
Is there not any trick for Non periodic?
sir how come u[n] be a periodic signal?
it does not exist from -infinity to +infinity
similarly u(t) is also non periodic as it does not exist from -infinity to +infinity
another reason for the u(t) not becoming zero is we cant say its time period
periodic signals are those which exist from -infinty to +infinty and their time period is defined throughout
that is a brilliant video
Be the best 👍👍
thanks dude ..it really helps me

Sir how that cos2theeta/2 become 0..Sir dont give answers directly please atleast solve .Coments below are asking same questions.. Very disappointed.
draw its graph , you will notice negative values and positive values cancelling each other as its range is from -N to +N.

Thank you so much
Pls give tricks also for energy signal
at time 7:20, The generalized formula seems to be wrong. instead of a^2 its just a according to your explanation
But his explanation abt the same concept only with A or A^2. Both r periodic and need to find out the power in both the cases.

right bro
what happend if in an energy signal you have a number >1? You'll obtain a negative energy. The formula at 6:37 is pretty bad!
Nice explanation thanks bro

Mistake!
Periodic signals are power signal but
Not necessary that
Power signals are always periodic
Like exception u(t)
