I read this book for the first time in the last week or so. It’s weird, reading something from the past with modern eyes. It gave me the same kinda vibes as “Death In The Clouds” wherein it’s racist but I don’t think that either Doyle or Christie intended it to be racist at the time. (This one I skipped the last chapter of because I didn’t feel any sympathy towards the main baddie.) It’s kinda why I’m for editing certain novels if it makes sense too. (Like editing out that weird diatribe in Goldfinger when James Bond is super super xenophobic towards the Koreans or in Death In The Clouds wherein the main female character states how she detests all black people and then we’re supposed to care about her well being like dude you ain’t witty or fun you’re a white supremacist) but you must also keep it unedited for posterity.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting! We cringe often at Conan Doyle too..
