11:55 THIS IS WHY I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF ROMANCE SUBPLOTS IN BOOKS! Why can't we have a good friendship between a male and a female character?! Why do they have to end up together?!
Caraval gives me whiplash. It had so much potential but every decision was poorly made. The characters SUCK. It feels like child play. Trying to catch up with each person feels like a joke.
Damn, you're a hero finishing this video after getting back from work. Caraval is a book I haven't heard that much about. Usually the book tok books have been reviewed by every booktuber, but I didn't recognize Caraval. Anyways: your rants are the best!
i was so confused when I read Caraval for the first time cus everyone said it was so good but it was so bad? I thought this was bad back when I thought ACOTAR was the best book in the world, so even when my taste was awful i still hated it. The second book I surprisingly liked, but then the third book was just as bad as the first
I actually thought the same when I red it, I felt like throwing the book into fire and my brain was like WHAT THE HELL!? , but the second and third book of this series completely changed my perspective in it, after reading them, there's no confusion left on why everything that happened actually happened, I understand how frustrating scarlet character was in the first book, but it was also bc she herself didn't knew anything that what the heck is going on, so yeah, besides, Julian and tella didn't had anything in between at the first movement, Julian and tella was pretending to be making out for the game's sake, yeah, the game had started wayyy before caraval, so it is very twisted, but in the other books, the knots are finally opened and you get to understanding better
New subscriber here, I've been loving your rants on bad tiktok books! I have to say though, this is your one review I'm not going to watch. I read caraval back in 2016 when it first came out and I was still a teen, and I remember really loving it. I definitely wasn't a critical reader back then but it's one of the books that got me back into reading so I'll always appreciate it for that!
Thanks for the recap. I was so bored and lost that by the end I just didn't care. So wrapping it up for me was good. Incestuous relationships and abuse ok got it.
Lol I have no idea what to call my book yet, but when it gets published maybe I will see it on your channel for being bad. I wouldn't even be mad because you're funny haha
You seem miserable. You actually didn't even give an accurate recount of several plots points. For example, Dante wasn't revealed to be Legend in Caraval LOL so either you read more of this series than you're letting on or you did or you couldn't be bothered to have some integrity in your review by doing proper research. I'm not saying the book is perfect by any means, but at least get your facts straight and do a little bit of critical thinking before you go on a long rant. I hope you manage to find a book you like.
"Is he a good honest person!? Were's your F**KIN" sister!" - made me LOL. That alone got a thumbs up!

I believe the middle of caraval was boring, but towards the end the book was good. It had an amazing plot twist.
