I've lived in california my entire life, and every garbage service i've seen only involves the driver and a mechanical claw...he never gets out(excluding dumpsters). where in ca is this? the whole riding on the truck thing seems very outdated; only seen in person when on vacation to canada.
For some it does pay, I’m a garbage man on salary pay. Work to slow, you don’t get paid for overtime. Work fast enough and you’re off early and paid for 8 hours.
@@scottp4063 all depends on how you look at it lol, in general any job that pays salary usually doesn’t pay overtime. I’m glad I get paid salary doing this job tho, rather not screw around all day for the same amount of money.

Where I live, most people have 1-2 bags. Me on the other hand, I have 6 cans a week
