I bet an adult beverage that the fine print contains language permitting Garmin to extract data from your aircraft and to share it with whomever they so choose.
Cirrus has had this functionality for a while now, nice to see Garmin with a retrofit option. I know a lot of Bonanza owners who are probably drooling over this.
Not targeted at the market I’m in, let’s hear about the new experimental G3x version if you release soon. And please reduce the number of external boxes not add more special purpose ones.
@RomansFiveDotEight of course that plane is hangared, but it's not that common to have ground power attached 24x7, would have to check what the POH sais. In an individual T-Hangar maybe, those are rare here... doesn't matter, our own Plane is Avidyne only, and I replaced Garmin Pilot with SkyDeamon because of the inferior software quality outside of Garmins favorite mobile platform Apple iOS, that is irrelevant outside the US.
There is no free lunch. I bet they are giving themselves unlimited access to all your telematics just like the auto manufacturers. Data is an asset and big tech companies don't share it unless it benefits them.

And in the Cirrus, it’s been draining the battery as the router stays alive when it shouldn’t
@@TheReadBaron91 they fixed this issue, wont ping if battery is below certain value....i dont remember the voltage though
@@gonetoearth2588 was it a remote fix via the connext? Or does it require a Perspective software update?
I believe a remote fix. But don’t quote me on that. heard about it a a COPA event.
i was sold at "new Garmin"

My dad works at garmin for the Planes, fighter jets, and helicopters
Why do I need to check on my aircraft when I am away? It should be right where I left it. As I left it.
What if you need to check if your kids took the plane out while you were working?
@@SB-iy7ls that’s only ever going to happen once. 😂
Oh my, we pull the "conv lights" breaker because all that Garmin Gremlin stuff drains the batteries in no time...
I’m imagining the target market for something like this is someone who has the aircraft hangared and attached to ground power while hangared.

Meanwhile, in Dynon Country, Wi-Fi connectivity is still just $40

Well, let me guess: You have to use their special purpose tablet? Lord forbid they create something that worked with the tablets we already own. 👎👎👎👎
