    Good morning Jamie. What a wonderful re-purpose of the old church. Really perfect. I'm glad you got to spend some time with good friends. Nick and Nikki seem like nice people. I'm glad there are so many special places like this that can be done indoors during the colder months. Thanks for sharing your video friend. I actually got a notification on this one.🎉

      Good evening Dennis! So glad you enjoyed the tour! I wish the HO scale club had been operating upstairs that day because it's one of the most incredible layouts I've ever seen. Hopefully I'll get to go back someday to see it in action and film it. I suspect with Nick being a member now that should be pretty likely. Glad you enjoyed the video and relieved you got a notification this time, lol. There's so many of these clubs around, and I really need to get to more of them next season. I've got a new railroading friend who hasn't been on the channel yet who will be helping me find them to share.

      Thanks, Bill, so glad you enjoyed it! I could literally spend the rest of my life shrunk down to O scale hanging out at that Pennsylvania Railroad station! Such a cozy holiday scene, and it just evokes so much nostalgia for me.

      Hey there Anita! Nick and Nikki are such awesome friends, and I'm glad Nick was finally able to join a club that's a good match for his modeling interests. So nice of him to invite me to check it out too! I couldn't help but think of Dennis with the Bigfoot stuff, and yeah, that Santa scene was hysterical! 🎅🏻💩🤣 I can't find enough superlatives to say how much I love that winter railroad station scene. I seriously wish I could shrink myself down to O scale and walk around with my camera like I do at the real stations. The smoke and sounds of these O scale trains really make them a pleasure to film, and they're large enough for my cameras to focus on the detail. Glad you appreciated that station shot around 12:12, it's one of my all-time favorites. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! Hope you're having a great weekend! 🐶❤️🌻

      Yep, that's Nick's Conrail, and I think he used every loco he bought that day to drag coal!

    Dont you wish you had a bigger house? Only one disappointment, no dome cars!😔😦😣😭! Oh, come on!, that Lionel smoke isnt THAT bad!😁😀😃😂🤣👍❗

    • @JamieMakin
      @JamieMakin  Рік тому

      Hahaha!! Indeed!! Yeah, the larger scales are fun in different ways than N. I realized when I was filming this layout that O scale is a lot more fun to film with the cameras I use, and the footage just comes out a lot better. The smoke and sound effects give it a level of realism that a lot of HO and N locos don't have (though they're starting to catch up). A dome car would have been great on that layout!

      @paulsmith5398 Рік тому

      @@JamieMakin Darn it!, i dont have any domes on my two Lionel passenger trains, one is the full complement of Polar Express, and the other is a mish-mash of steam-era cars, (pre Amtrak?) But, i do have plenty of domes for my American Flyer, HO, and the NP set in N scale. I do have a couple of smoking Lionel steamers, with some kind of cheap steam sounds, and a few Bachmann HO steamers with smoke units that dont work anymore. Dont know if you knew that the logo on RBMN 425s tender is the same as the original GM&N logo, but with RBMN lettering. Its nice they retained that for history buffs! I tried putting aftermarket smoke units in a couple of really cheap (AHM) Alco RS-2s, and had somewhat success with them, but had to run them nearly full speed for them to operate, and they were quite close to real Alco smoke. I still have them, and might try fine tuning them to work better.

      @@paulsmith5398 it's funny I was thinking earlier today I need to run an N scale train with all of my dome cars on it together. I think I've got 5 full domes now and 2 or 3 partial domes, losing count lol. Yeah, I recently did find that out about the logo on 425's tender. They've got the same logo on the generator car I filmed today too. I love how they incorporate the heritage of old railroads into their designs.

      @@JamieMakin well, when Amtrak was first formed, some trains looked like a rainbow going down the track, quite often with a mix of engines and cars, so your idea would be 100% accurate, and i say, "go for it!" Just be sure to put a couple different engines on it, and mix a few non-dome cars in the consist, and you will have the "N" scale version of an early Amtrak. Video it for YT, and see how many people remember Amtrak's early days!

      @@JamieMakin i saw a Broadway Limited video yesterday, that nearly blew my mind, they have come out with N scale engines and cars that are the epitome of N scale! Freight cars for quite a few roads, with unpainted versions too, diesels with DCC, sound, and all the extras, and some steamers that look and perform like the full size ones, also with DCC, smoke, and sounds! I was quite impresed with their Y6b, and Big Boy, but was disappointed they didnt give any prices, and i am fairly certain theyre not cheap!
