It was a fair assessment from a newcomer's perspective; colorful, suitable for its target audience, but not many of them stand out and can get disinteresting. The very first toys were realistic licensed Hyundai autos, so they had a good debut as the toys appealed to kids and older car fans alike, but of course, it got gimmicky as it went on. Can’t wait for “TJ looks at every Tobot”! Hello Carbot Penta Storm with the individual robot modes is a piece of art. It’s so well done, if any that’s the one I’d recommend.
Hello Carbot is very successful in South Korea as that and Tobot are their big transforming toy lines that have lasted years. Also the Hyper Buildian figures just bring me Brave series vibes, mostly on Brave Police J Decker on how they combine.
20:09 I hope someone can somehow customize this into a transforming Kamen Rider Ex-Aid figure. Maybe the vehicle mode could be an ambulance, considering the themes of Ex-Aid... First thing I thought of seeing that gimmick.
Baltmatrix has reviewed a few of these guys. And hey, covering other transforming robot toys is a big part of being a Transformers reviewer, Gotta show just how much of an impact Transformers has had on the toy industry.
I really don't like that they have no idea what to do with some of that Stegosaurus kibble. In their defense, pterosaurs are hard to get good accurate beastmodes for without a completely jank botmode.
A lot of these give me much stronger sentai mech/power rangers zord vibes than they do Transformers vibes with the robot mode designs, particularly the heads and visual accents
If you are looking for a Korean transforming robot toy like Hello Carbot, I recommend Tobot from a company called Young Industry. If you look at the toys of the Tobot v series these days, they are much better in detail operation than Hello Carbot.
I'd be curious to see a Sentai-alike deep dive. The only toys I've ever found that are even close to that style are the Giant Saver/Battle Strike Team toys out of China, and they're very hit-or-miss (I own the two better of the four years). It's a style of toy I like a lot, and would love to know if there are any other toys that fit that puzzly, muylti-toy combining style.
I got that first big blue car one recently off of sir toys. it was $15 but that was before shipping cost. defiantly a fun figure but to be honest id stick with Tobots as my main transformers alternative.
I took a look at episode one (possibly season 2 from what I've read), and it looks kind of silly, but possibly fun. It's in Korean and find no proof of an English dub despite some claims I saw but it might be interesting.
To be fair, while the toys themselves are simple, some of these designs look like they could easily fit into TF. Maybe tone down some of those colors though…

Interesting little toyline, some are really creative on ways to reinvet the hood chest and door wings

These things look like the nebulous point between knockoffs, 3rd party figures, Brave toys, and TF Victory figures
Both Young Toys and Sonokong Toys both license Transformers for the South Korea Market
These look really good and fun. Unfortunately looking at the prices ony the unicorn bot is anywhere near affordable.
And that Mirinae Prime unicorn is a KO.
