way easier way to run the wire through the firewall there is a little rubber gasket that goes through and you can push through there instead of going outside the door area
Tim thats what i did it was much easier
Tim The thing that's difficult on that is for my truck it's really hard to get to from under the hood so I did the same thing he did
not if you drive a 2015 chevy 2500 its a bitch firewall
Or at least put it inside the door rubber seal.
It’s likely the water will drain down into the fuse panel
This was SUPER helpful brother. 11pm at night over here getting it all installed thanks to you man! Amazing tutorial! Thank you for sharing with all of us! 🙏😎💯
Thanks
I’d go through the firewall. Less chance of crimping or breaks. It looks cleaner too.

"ya I'm not a big attachment guy"...has a 6 inch lift, bigger tires and rims, aftermarket tow mirrors, bullbar, and this video is about putting a light bar on haha that kills me...thanks for the video rather than that tho
Those are stock mirrors for that truck
Those are all bolt ons accessories. The lightbar may require some drilling tho
@@colbyfey2215 I believe those are 07-13 tow mirrors. I could be mistaken. It is a very very common mod for cateyes
@@luketrinke4667 my brothers 02 had them on from factory
😂😂
Probably the best video on how to instal a light bar ! Solid video my brother !
I have a rough country bull bar on my Silverado 1500 Z71. It's an 04' so I have the same body style. I appreciate this video man. Helped me a ton with my install. My bull bar came with two rubber grommets for the pre drilled light bar holes. Helped with fumbling with the bolts. Lol. I'm a bull in a China shop but again thank you so much for the video!! Keep em coming bro!
+Ricky Creason thanks for the awesome comment take care man
Looks like that bumper bar is a "bit" loose, make sure to tighten that too!
Waay too much flex in that bar when he was adjusting the light bar
@@THEGAMEX21 yea mine bolts to the frame and is super rigid, you can rock the whole truck with it
Thanks for this. Just bought one earlier to throw onto my little Dakota for the occasions that I go out onto forest trails at night.
Wow ...You made a great vid and should be franchised...no kidding...great explanation, tagged major issues with the harness mounting made the product, a gotta have accessory. Thanks and it took a bit of latent feer of screwing up the first time for a guy at 70 to do a first. Have a new/used hybrid and huge battery source for light...or marine epower and maybe run a boat for a while once I get the harness and release mechanism assembled. Happy Trails
Thank you 👍
Thank you for video. Really helped me figure out what needed to be done. Im running it to a roof rack though so bit different running of the wires
your greatman. you made it look plain and simple
Because of how easy you made it look in this video, I ordered a 42" and wiring harness from them. I hope I can install it as easy as you made it look. We'll see...
+LNxTCB awesome good luck man run the wires through the firewall not the door jam though good luck!
Yeah, that's what I plan on doing. Thanks, bro!
The little light bulb on the switch doesn't drain your battery since it's wired to the battery?
+LNxTCB I never had a problem
Thanks. Good video. I think the only thing I'm going to do before I do this is use RTV on the light bar. I saw another video with how to take these apart and do that, just in case. Mine, same brand, came with a plug that doesn't mount like yours in the video does. It's the round kind. But I just checked and the other plug seems to attach to the wire, so I might swap them.
wow that's really bright, i just ordered a 12" nilight bar to mount on my polaris outlaw 525 irs quad lol. i think i wanna get a few bars for my truck now!
The red wire is to small of a hole to mount to the red terminal on the battery, how else could I attach it to the battery?
I got a 20in light bar and I'm telling you they are good for the price
So cool ya ima get one
My roads here are nasty and dark and I will have to drive em every morning and night
So I got my wiring harness kit today... and the black cable I’m supposed to ground is about 4 inches long 🙃
ShadyPlays at least it’s long enough to splice lol
That bull bar is Soo loose tho
Nice truck. Great video, thanks.
I was on the fence about it but I’m getting one for my semi truck my lights are shit thank you
This would help me but the holes are too wide to work this way from factory.
super simple but super helpful answered everything I needed lol
Mine not working 😪
@@alexmilburn1315 could be a bad plug or the light could be bad, you can test the light on a drill battery
Very good video, straight to the point and helpful. Thank you👍
hey so i just bought one and im trying to wire it without the harness to see how bright it is and when i plug it into the battery it only lights up one quarter of the bar. any help?
Good stuff man just got mine and installed them on my truck thanks for the video 👍
Thanks brother ! Great video
Exactly what I am going to do to my Ram 2500 and Chevy Colorado but using a remote activated relay. instead of a switch. Thank you.
Thought you said properly installed?
did you mske a video on how to mount the bull bar on the truck?
I’m confused as to how you connected the positive lead to the battery. Where was that mounted?
Great video! Did the Nilight light bar hold up well? I've used cheaper light bars before and got maybe a year out of them.
Do you have to mount that relay
Where can I buy the extra wiring?
How Long did it work?
im not sure if any of you can help but I looked up both of these and i cant find the wiring kit and what do i do with the fuse
i only found a 22" made by nilight. im trying to to put a light bar on my bar bar as well so im im wanting to get one just like that one with the adjustable mounts
+DON cruz I left a link in the description were you can buy this one
Question I know when you order the lightbar they sent you the lightbar and also a couple of coupons but also there is one paper in there that says if you make a video and send it to them you get a special gift just wondering what is the special gift
Does the link u have for the light bar include everything u need to install it or did u have to buy stuff separate ?
To anyone who is planning to buy this THE PACKAGE DOES NOT COME WITH THE WIRING U NEED !!!
Are these legal to have? I have a 2000 cord f150 with crap lights, this would help a lot
These lights would not be legal in probably any state for highway driving. I'm just using it to get through some very dark tunnels about 2 miles long on I-70 that I travel now and then. The tunnel lighting is terrible and I'm night blind, so this light bar will help. It's one way traffic in the tunnel, so I probably can away with using them for a few minutes. I go through in the daytime, but the tunnels are darn near pitch black to my old eyes.
What about the wire that connects to the light switch
Sweet man thanks! an yeah I just bought my first trick 2500 hd Cheverly
+Danny Lyle congrats brother
Is attaching the ground wire to the negative battery terminal the same thing? Is there a difference?
Yes, you can hook it to the negative on the battery. On many modern vehicles it's hard to find metal to hook to within distance of the wire harness.
So you didn't have to tap into the fuse box at all?
+Regis Riley no
How to connect to battery harness wire
Any problems with condensation?
what kind of wiring harness is that
+Austin Vandeberg not sure it came with the nilight but I'm sure it's the nilight wiring harness
hey Austin, this is the link to the wiring harness, hope it helps.

Thanks for taking time to share. Easy to follow instructions. AAA+++
What a hack job! You seriously ran the wire along the door jam... WOW
Can you list your link to your install?
Thank you!
Hey is it a problem that it doesnt get wired up to the ignition switch? Im just worried about it draining the battery?
+Bobby Sutphen that shouldn't be a problem but I haven't tried it yet. I did read on the internet of guys doing that and it worked out for them
Awesome Video Very Helpful!
How do you connect the bar lights to the harness
Please send a link for the wiring needed for the light I bought it on amazon and it did not come with what i need to install it
Buy it off there nilight website not this guys link u can't just buy the wiring harness now I'm stuck with a light with no wiring
How did you connect the light bar wire to the connector on the wiring harness? I have the same setup and don't know what to do
+Real Outdoorsman your suppose to buy the additional connectors to plug them in but you can just cut, splice and use some electrical tape as well
Thank you very much was very damn helpful for me to go and hook my bar up thank u very much
Thanks no problem
What kind of wiring kit is that..?
Got mine yesterday - Amazon reviews suggested silicon around the clear front to prevent condensation on the inside of the light bar - have u run into any moisture issues in the unit?
+Michael Woodsdale not at all
What's the size of the bull bar?
Which wire goes connected first to do it properly, the black to ground or the red to positive???
Israel Rodriguez negative is always last to be put on and first to be taken off
i agree. flows negative to positive. hook the positive up first then negative last and the opposite when disconnecting.
The way how u connected it and that lil light on The switch doesnt that drain the battery?
+LoLo ZT no issues so far
Okay cool thanks man
Real curious to know: how’s that Nilight holding up? Been on the truck a while by now. I’m mounting a 32” and some fog light pods and I sealed the seams from the outside with silicon just to give them a better chance. For the price they’re worth trying. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.
+A Stang it’s a great lightbar no condensation issues and very bright. Probably he best inexpensive lightbar online
Also how big is your bull bar?
It looked like a supernova when he turned on the light bar
Did the switch come with it? If it did not what kind of switch is it? Thanks
+R.T.W OUTDOORS it did come with it and it's the same brand nilight
What lift u got on ur truck ??
+BIG_STANCE SILVERADO 6 inch
Great video well done!
i just got this and the bolts for the sliders are too big for the whole , gteat so far not looking too good
Should i trust a $30 light bar?
+Nathan White these little ones are great it’s the 35+ inches I would worry about
I had this bull bar on my truck for about 8 months and it was absolutely amazing didn’t leak water inside like most lights and it never forged up from the inside. I decided to change my setup and I took it off with the bull bar and I sold it to my buddy and he still uses it til this day it’s got to be one the greatest light bars you can purchase. I got a new truck and I’m about to buy a bull bar and this light bar👌🏻
can i assume you wont want to use this as a supplement to the stock headlights when driving down public roads? guess it can be angled down enough not to blind other drivers & still be useful ey?
salt pepper it’s illegal to use light bars in public roads, u will get a ticket if a cop sees you some cops will even give tickets if your off-road lights don’t have covers over them but i don’t think they care much bout that
can u use a different switch that doesnt come with it
Yes.
I'm about to get my first suv, and always wanted a light bar. I may give this one a shot. how is it holding up?
+Kevin Keener they hold up great just don't buy the most cheap light bar sometimes they fog up
THANKS BRO VERY HELPFUL
How did you get your mirrors so level? Both of mine angle up
+austen9988 to be honest I took the mirrors off my LMM which is the newer body style and fabricated them to fit my classic body style. But I know there is a way to level your mirror look online and see if anyone wrote a thread on it
austen9988 I've heard that if you have a lot of room on your bolts that washers can help level them out.
Actual install is @ 6:04
Go through the firewall guy!
Great video
what tires do you have? also love your dirtymax man
+TheBobby1bobby1 delinte DX9's 35/12.50/20 thanks brother
tires look like they be good in the mud, how do you like them boss?
My light bar is exactly the same as this one, but mine is longer and cheaper. Basically same manufactuer.
+A D A M M A J O R cool I really like the brand
Good video ! Thanks
Im here in Australia , we have to wire it to the hi-beam , part of the road rules so no separate switch
+ozmoc wow! That's not fair
how has the light held up ? fill with water in the rain ?
+kenni411 I sold that light a while back but that thing was perfect and it never clouded up or filled with water
Thank you, we didn't know how to spell night light.
Eduardo Rodriguez it's nilight...
Just put that on my 2014 grizzly 700
Great ,,,,,,video
HEX BOLTS!!!
Yeah the light bar look that everyone has it looks so dumb. it was cool in the beginning. love the old body style I have the 2006 Chevy Duramax
+TrollMaster300 agreed sir! My personal opinion is the 06-07 is the best model duramax made
+Truck Master Agreed
you could have put it in the grill
i like nice n thick
+Serjio Blockus thanks!
That’s what she said
n i c e a n d t h i c k
Damn you got some freckled arms
+Masterman5010 sure do lol
Wiring through the door jam,and duct tape? I guess if a job is worth doing,it's worth half-assing.
Lol I was thinking that when I seen that , talk about jury rigging ! LOL
When you have a factory grommet you can run the lights through
Gave him 20 feet of wire and he chose the shortest path
@@ksdad2two h Hhhhhh get gggggg jb b B bbbbh try
Never met a guy who uses duct tape that i didnt like..if you use the silver tape for dryer vents..your also on a different level
How long did it last?
Drinking game: Take a shot every time he says "actually".
I actually did this and actually died.
@@IAMBIGSPOON09 I actually was gonna comment this but somebody actually beat me to it
the light bar fit your bumper so well!
Man, I want to start by thanking you for sharing this video. I have bought an E350 4x4 Van with a long 50inch light bar on the top. I recently bought the same wiring harness as the one you used and was having seconds thoughts if I could wire the light bar on my own or not. This video convinced me and helped me do it on my own.
+Kudro Rico awesome man I'm glad I can help
Thanks for showing me how to install this exact light which I just bought. I'm night blind and going through the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels on I-70, which are 1.7 miles long each way, is absolutely terrifying.
Since traffic is one way in each tunnel, this will get me through the tunnels safely without killing me or my fellow drivers. There are lights in the tunnel, but they are so filthy and weak, they might as well not be there for me being night blind.
I was surprised at the number of comments from those who try to make themselves feel good by making others feel bad by complaining about running the switch wire through the door seal rather than through the firewall. This light is not a fixture on the space shuttle and I sure am not going to drill a hole through the firewall of my car. I'll do it just like you did it. It will work fine and you know the saying, "Perfection is the enemy of good enough".
Thanks again!
Thanks, Santa just got me one on AMZN.
This is actually the BEST Nilight installment video on UA-cam.
Does the built in fuse box for the light prevent it from draining the battery since it's directly connected to the battery? I'd like to get the ditch lights and the light bar but I don't want them to suck my battery dry.
did the same thing on my bro's old truck. check out the video!
+JW Montoya awesome video
I ran mine to a switch under my hood and connected my power and ground to my fog lamps so when I turn on my fog lamps from inside the truck it will also turn on my light bar and if I don't want it to I just throw the switch under the hood and I can continue to use my fog lights without the light bar
+christopher smith awesome I will have to look into that on my set up
Truck Master I just didn't want to add anything to my cab I like things simple in there
