Nothing better than a cup of tea a custard cream then a bourbon cream and of course dunking them in the tea. Your ones look delicious! I always laugh when you say "I'm no cook or chef, well I say you are as any chef, cook or baker would be happy with what you produce!
I used to say something similar when a yoga instructor would go around at the end of class giving people a mini shoulder/back massage. She'd say "I'm not a licensed massage therapist " and I would think "no, but you should be!"
Hello from Colorado USA... Foggy, dreary day here on the ranch, so I have a cup of warn coffee and I tuned it to What’sForTea for a little cheering up. It worked!!! Perked up right away just listening to you. Thank you for being you.
Good evening Cheryl, your home made custard creams look very professional, those are a fancy wee set of biscuit cutters/stamps 😍. I used to love those iced ring biccies when we were young, remember delicately nibbling the icing off them to make the enjoyment last longer!😆 Hope your family enjoyed their sweet treat, & appreciate the efforts you go too, as well as the burnt thumb 👍😖 sustained in the making of them! Hope you enjoy what’s left of the week & take care. Xx 👩🏻🍳🍪😋💕💞🩷
Happy Birthday sweet Cheryl. These look so good. TY so much. It is going to be great to have a cream filled cookie without all the preservatives and additives.
You’re the first person I’ve ever seen make homemade custard creams! 😮 They look absolutely scrumptious. I’d like to see more biscuits or some other sweet treats 😍
Hi, Cheryl! I was having a bad day today. Then I saw your video and it lifted my spirits! These look marvelous! I'm going to make them for my mother! Thank you so much for your happy videos! Much love from Texas! XOXO
I can't wait to try this - I'm an American who discovered custard creams in Bermuda, and they're very difficult to find here in actual stores (very overpriced online).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CHERYL! 🎂🎉🥳🎂🎉🥳🎂🎉🥳🎂🎉🥳🎂 LOVE your channel my dear, I'm a recent 'WHAT'S FOR TEA?' subscriber, and my family absolutely ADORE you, and what you do! After finding you and your quality content, I was so impressed/intrigued, I did a YT search to find similar channels. Yes, there are other YT channels offering similar daily/weekly meals and recipes and supermarket hauls. But none - I repeat in CAPS - NONE is anything close to the high standard of your content. No question, 'What's For Tea' videos are a cut above the rest! Thank you lovely lady, and please keep up the superb work. You are making a hugely positive contribution to this world, the beautiful consequences of which, you can never know! ⭐🌠⭐🌠⭐🌠⭐🌠⭐ Much love from grateful & loyal new subs in Gloucestershire. XXX
Custard creams - a guilty pleasure of mine! I love how you made them look like the bought ones and etched the words CUSTARD CREAMS on them! Can you do bourbon creams the same way? Do you have a BOURBON CREAMS cutter?
Tbh not a fan of the classic British favourite tea break treat 'Custard Creams', but was very excited when clicking the biscuit cutter Amazon link you provided, to see you get a whole set to make different biscuits including - be still my beating heart - JAMMIE DODGERS! Ooh Cheryl... Could you possibly demonstrate the Jammie Dodger option sometime? Would be great to see how much jam and what kind is best to recreate this mouthful of heaven! Much love to you, darling girl. XXX
Ooh yum! I love the thicknesss of these cookies and I think I’m gonna have to give this recipe a try. Looks to me like a good coffee dunking cookie as well. Tea is fine but in this house I’m the only tea drinker…hot tea that is and I’m not ashamed to say I make a pot quite regularly for me and yes I consume the whole pot myself. One drawback is I’ve never seen custard powder here in the states but I’ll figure something out. Thanks for sharing!!!:):):)
You know CricketBay…I NEVER think about Amazon as a go to for my needs. I have bought things from there but it’s just not ever my first stop. Why, I guess my age but my son shops Amazon more than traditional stores. Thank you for the heads up and I will check that out because I AM going to try these cookies!!!:):):)
Your timing is perfect, I was about to search for home made custard creams & blow me up pops your video…. Spooky 👻 Thank you I am so going to do this, this very weekend. Question please what is the best way to store the biscuits? 🤗
ONE PROBLEM WITH SCOTTISH BAKED GOODS!!!! I just cannot get the dough right. Whether I make these or Shortbread, when baking the pattern (picture) "rises" or swells out and become invisible. I had a heck of a hassle to finally get hold of those beautiful carved wooden template with the Scottish Thistle and now it is useless. What am I doing wrong?
I seen someone else on UA-cam make these, aswell as bourbon Jamie Dodgers and party rings I'm on a slimming world diet, so I need tae watch what I'm eating 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 How many calories would you say is in each biscuit?
Good evening folks! Hope you're all well...I'll join you in the comments for a wee while ☺👇
Happy birthday, Cheryl!
@@LindaC616 Thank you 🤩
Hi Cheryl, I was thinking, would replacing the custard powder with cocoa powder in both the biscuit and filling give you a bourbon??
I've never seen custard creams hand made before, they looked absolutely delicious.
Nothing better than a cup of tea a custard cream then a bourbon cream and of course dunking them in the tea. Your ones look delicious! I always laugh when you say "I'm no cook or chef, well I say you are as any chef, cook or baker would be happy with what you produce!
That's very kind...thank you, much appreciated 🥰

That rolling pin with the ‘washer’ ends is brilliant!
Thank you SO much! I hope your family appreciates what all you do.
Thank YOU for watching ☺

They look fab, funny I was wondering how you were going to get the custard in. 😊😊mmm tasty too.
In the filling i make for custard creams ,i use icing sugar vanilla and a spoonful of condensed milk .
Wow
Hi Cheryl - They look fantastic! BTW, if you ever run across a good recipe for malted milk biscuits, please share!
What fabulous cutters, the recipe is the same as we call Yoyos. What did you scrape/burn your thumb on?
Your timing is perfect, I was about to search for home made custard creams & blow me up pops your video…. Spooky 👻 Thank you I am so going to do this, this very weekend. Question please what is the best way to store the biscuits? 🤗
When you quote oven temps in you recipes, are those fan settings or do I need to reduce the temp
For my fan oven ?
For any that have not been consumed initially how would you store these?
you got a cutter for Bourbons ?
It would be good if you could do the other biscuits too? ❤
