asankaw1 hi, greeting from indonesian, though i'm not from this island but my wife is native to Flores island (the island this lake located). Spritually, it is said that when the lakes change color, it means the spirit wanna tell to human/earthlings something important, it could be an event that are going to happen or current social condition which disrupt the balance of life. Scientifically, there are several theory to the changing colour of the lakes, the most arguably near the true is using the density of particle/matter on the lake, its density will change according to temperature generated by the crater, the specific density will reflect the light in specific colour spectrum band, and to our eyes it means different color of the lake. Nature also has this color changing in Chameleon skin(color change adapt its sorrounding using density change in particle on their outer skin layer) and specific butterfly wing color (the wing color is grey to blackish grey but there are microscopic holes with uniform spacing creating lattices that will reflect sunlight in specific color)
Amazing❤️ when i was there in 2015, the turqoise lake had more of a milky light blue color. And the Brown lake was pitch black. Its soo cool that they change in color like that😮
It's a lake nearby, and it's mysterious how different the color of water can be. Maybe it's because mineral makeup is different, right? I enjoyed your video very well.
the color changes based on the activity below, it is really impressive to see such different colors nearby, and sometimes the color can change during the year
Very cool! We have a Crater Lake here in Oregon also that is a real beauty, with an island in the center. Supposedly big-foot carries off a few people here and there if you wander too far from the visitor area.
hai, please go to north Sumatra island, also in Indonesia. there is also an island in the center of Huge Crater Lake, its name is Samosir Island with size of the island around 240sq.miles. it is so big that contain almost 100 thousand inhabitant. The name of the lake is Toba Lake. The volcano is considered dormant since prehistoric time.
Diving in these lakes is not a good idea. The water contains mixtures. Acid, sulfur and etc In a crater lake in the Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines, a tourist who dared to dive in it died, because the waters are contaminated with sulfur. The crater is home to a lake of green waters that enchants tourists from all corners of the world. Only, although it looks like a beautiful postcard, swimming is forbidden.
Complimenti Milosh per questo bellissimo e straordinario video con riprese di una spettacolarità incantevole, grazie per la condivisione. Ciao, Lorenzo.
Ok. Then it is likely that the brown lake also contains Copper, but then in the other chemical valence that alternates with the blue form. Cu2+ = blue, Cu+ = reddish brown. It is a chemical oxidative reaction, that can be caused by the changing temperature or acidity of the lake, or by sulfurdioxide gas. Thanks for the beautiful footage.
Astonishing! Never have I seen something like this before. Interesting how these lakes are two different colors. Amazing video. Thank you Milosh for sharing . Have a peaceful Wknd. :)
Thanks Isabel! Not only the adjacent lakes are of very different colors, but also the dark red (or brown) one changes its color to blue sometimes! It is not even completely clear how it happens, probably chemical reaction from the gases...
@@milosh9k there are soul of the death persons live there according to the local folk. To avoid disaster come, tradional people do ceremony ini order to respect the soul of the death persons (their oldgrandfather). They also believe if the lakes mix up someday, so the world will end. Thank you for your video, love from Indonesia
Gracias por su trabajo, una viaja con ustedes a esos lugares fascinantes, que existen en nuestro planeta. A que se debe los colores de las aguas del crater?

3 color craters the only mystery we want to know what happens if someone decide to dip his/her hand one of those 3 craters what's the affect?
He got a little pain. The lake contains acid water
Diving in these lakes is not a good idea.
The water contains mixtures. Acid, sulfur and etc
In a crater lake in the Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines, a tourist who dared to dive in it died, because the waters are contaminated with sulfur.
The crater is home to a lake of green waters that enchants tourists from all corners of the world. Only, although it looks like a beautiful postcard, swimming is forbidden.
Considering how someone died, they would lose that hand
So Amazing this Place....3 diff color very special. Thank you Milosh, great and beautiful video . Have a wonderful day ☼

Great footage, I love Indonesia and use the AX100 as well for my underwater footage. Amazing camera. And great job!
Thank you! What type of case do you use underwater for AX100?
Beautiful! Such a pity I did not have the housing for the camcorder during my trip to Komodo National Park :(
Yes diving in Komodo is spectacular. Did it early 2014 - didnt have the AX100 then... just GoPro
My grandfather told me that during his time, the lake was red
Always changed and we can not predict them exactly.
Complimenti Milosh per questo bellissimo e straordinario video con riprese di una spettacolarità incantevole, grazie per la condivisione. Ciao, Lorenzo.
Much appreciated, Lorenzo! Cheers :)
I love my country indonesian
Now....I looking for your video about Mount Krakatoa. It erupted enormously in 1883 and made the sky above USA red at that time.
Really special. The blue lake must contain a high concentration of Copper (Cu). The brown lake probably contains a lot of Iron (Fe).
What is interesting is that the brown one changes its color unpredictably, it might turn light blue, truly unbelievable!
