My parents’ house is opposite the church and my cousin’s just behind them. My grandmother originally came from Redelinghuys. Love the commentary you guys give and you’re super sweet.
Thedrone footage was like a welcome to the town. I always enjoy it. Nice road for a change! Interesting to learn about the bird life. Each area has its own speciality. Really a small town but so pretty. I would also not mind to live there. Thank you for this one It was well done. I am waiting for the next trip
Stayed here. Has the biggest moths I've seen since Panama! I hate moths lol Stayed at the sandveld dorpshuys. Owner was a lovely friendly lady. Btw, while watching your videos I often have Google maps open and follow along.
Gorgeous little town this. And so much hope now for this town with remote workers settling in for a more simple life as Sonia said. Love it. Pity about the church.🎉loving my back seat drives with you guys 🎉
Love the Rooistoor, especially the old potbelly cash register! Beautiful camping ground. So sad about the church that burnt down. Such a pretty place, don't blame people for wanting to live here
A very nice clean kept little town. My mother and father used to talk a lot about Redelinghuys and other small places around there, I wish I had listened to what they had to say.
What a charming little village which I had no clue even existed until your visit. Indeed a perfectly serene hamlet to return to a simple lifestyle. Like yourself Curtis, I could definitely live in Redelinghuys. The Sandveld caravan park with it's beautiful trees exude peace and tranquility. Added the town to my bucket list of places still to visit. Thank you for the stop.
Hi guys same as you Curtis I could live here if I couldn't have one of the old property's I'd build my own tiny house love the old wagons at Rooi Stoor .the drone was amazing I can't ever get over the vastness and how isolated it seems. Everything is clean and tidy and the murals on the houses fantastic I can see why there are a lot of new builds idea for remote working. The old hostel had a tranquil vibe with all the old stuff so interesting and to top it off a top notch . caravan park. Sad to see the ruined church maybe they could repurpose the original one ? The Anglo saxon is a village with no church is a hamlet so for now it's a hamlet awesome video thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one
The community is desperate to rebuild their church, so I'm sure that would be their first priority, provided that Heritage relents and allows them to at least have a church building, albeit not the original one, which would be impossible to replace. It was indeed sad to see, but the remaining structure still proudly towers over the town. 💒 Thank you for visiting Redelinghuys with us. We can shop for plots for our tiny homes together! 😁🏠
Hi you two! What a nice trip under blue skies to this neat homely town. It must be a favourite holiday retreat for people wanting to escape from Cape Town city. Your drone view introducing the town was captivating. I looked up a photo of the church before it burnt down - it was a stunning building! Thank you for taking me along. Waiting eagerly for the next trip. Keep safe!
I must admit that I was looking forward to the day that you visited this village as I know someone who has settled there temporarily for now...he has mentioned the significant growth from similar likeminded people taking advantage of being able to work remotely and, for now, buy a place at an affordable rate. The church, although damaged, still seems to command its place in the town, and the lawns are well kept. Plants, lawns seem to thrive well in the sandy soil. There has been recent investment in potato 🥔 facilities outside the town which may also be contributing towards the town's economy. The caravan park with its great amenities and facilities looks very welcoming. Great video as always 👍
Just struck me, that one, odd guy wandering 10 km's outside of these towns you visit...I suspect it's the same guy. I've had the suspicion for a long time because whenever I approach a town, I start looking aound for him. You can find the Lonely Wanderer all over the country. Sometimes, he's on a bicycle. I've even found him on a donkiekar around the Karoo - with a whole family, too.
It's called the Sandveld region, hence the sandy soil as mentioned in your discussion at the start of the video. Please also visit the town called Aurora not too far from Redelinghuys as well, it's worth it❤
We did visit Aurora later that same day and finally figured out why it was called the Sandveld. 🚙😁 Our Aurora episode was published earlier this afternoon. I hope you enjoy.
I wonder why the mobile phone company doesn't have to pay to have church rebuilt? I read the fire started with an electrical short in the mobile tower attached to the church.
Perhaps those discussions have taken place without a successful outcome, but I'm not sure of that at all. It would make sense that the insurer of the relevant service provider covers the rebuilding of the church, provided it can be proved that they or their equipment was at fault. Bottom line for me is that Heritage needs to relax their strict guidelines and relent a little so that this community can rebuild their church. 💒
I'm from an English-speaking family and our videos will always be in English so that my family and our friends abroad can also follow along. Thank you for watching. 🚙😊
😅Geniet elke program. Dankie
