Did you ever think of extending the saddle post and incorporating a chain drive where you could theoretically install a gear system for climbing gradients? I would have. Plus the higher you are on the unicycle, the easier it is to balance. But I guess you already knew that. I think you should have made a show for the kids...like trick cycling and juggling...after all that is the unicycles main purpose.
@@kingrobert1st I would argue that the main purpose of Ed's 36" unicycle is for distance riding, not tricks and juggling. And he was there to talk about riding around the world, not unicycling in general.
@@justinlandau4315 I beg to differ. The main purpose of a unicycle is trick cycling and juggling which is what I do. Next time he goes off on an adventure he should really bear that in mind.
Yes your school talk and show was a real hit, teachers , parents and students all we're amazed and so happy , thank you ed for putting a smile on so many faces.
I do not understand anybody who‘d give a thumbs down. It is just amazing how you get out of every crisis and can still show a big smile on your face. Keep pushing mate
Man, sometimes I’m at work doing what I do everyday and think to myself, where is ed unicycling to now. Amazing how time flies and yet you’re still out there enjoying life. Keep it up!
Watching the footage back I think that too, but at the time I missed the thumb I thought I may have heard 'ARSEHOLE'. Just thought it was interesting to show how easy it can be for cyclists and car drivers to misunderstand each other.
An amazing journey you are doing now Ed ! So admire you ! Im from Vietnam , planing for a bicycle trip solo female to south east asia , nepal , india and Silk Road ..next year i will be on road ! So excited to watch your channel ! Have a great moments in your life , Ed ! For sure you are living an meanful life and freedom ! Daisy
Awesome work mate. My wife and I recently found one of your videos. It has been so inspiring, we went to the beginning and watched them all. We are currently at the end of you crossing Australia. I know it has been a couple years but your videos are so inspiring to watch. Not only due to your amazing effort and spirit, but the people that open their hearts and homes for you. It shows people are people all over the world. Can't wait for your next adventure. Tandem tour soon?
Sydney is a bugger of a place in a car or motorbike. You certainly had your work cut out for you riding the big wheel across it! My sister lives in Greensborough, hilly place.
So strange to see so long after you’ve posted this that you were in greensborough! A suburb away from where I lived, and in the school hall rented by my group of friends a handful of times! When I think of crossing the world on a unicycle, I don’t think of going through greensy!
jonah scott then look up the channel kombi life, they travel on a vw van, there are lots of other channels about traveling on vans, that's more comfortable
i think its kind of everyones dream to do some traveling at sometime in there life but they don't realise that if you treat it as a holiday you'll run out of money very quickly
Mate, there's pretty much a cycle track all the way from Werribee to Melbourne then another pretty much all the way to Greensborough. Not the most direct way but less stressful
There's something called LifeStraw which you can use to filter out dirty water like lakes and rivers and you can drink anywhere if you run out! It's great and it's quite cheap, you can get one from ebay for like 20 pounds! :)
May I suggest something for the next circumnavigation? Every place you stop at you make a street performance and from the money you earn as tips you finance the trip. I did it for 1 year but on a conventional bicycle...but I did have a unicycle with me.
Been watching your videos and have been blown away. On another unrelated note, it's just embarrassing that Australian culture is such that one is forced to blur the faces of school children (in a crowd mind you), as if not doing so would pose some kind of risk to the children. I am an Australian living abroad, and everytime I go back home I am reminded how much we place children in cotton wool and deny them their independence, as if danger lurks behind every street corner and that all people are not to be trusted.
I mean, I disapprove of a lot of the ways we handle children around here in the U.S., but blurring faces of kids in vids on the Internet should happen more. The Internet is forever.
how do you stay so cheerful ed? that bit about thinking you were going to have to drink pee. i would have been depressed, turned round or just given up!
Every time he writes Final Episode I think he's going to stop the Vlog of his ride. O_O I wonder how many people see him along the way who are subscribed to him. This channel should be blowing up with subs, because it has great entertaining content. He needs to meet a fellow YTuber who has a decent amount of subs to help him out. I'm sure most would love to interview him on their channels.
I randomly came across your channel and have spent the last three nights watching your adventures from the very beginning... I live in Scotland, but I am from Australia originally. I was looking forward to the Australian leg of your journey as it's my home country... To my surprise, not only through my old stomping grounds, not just Melbourne, but freaking Greensborough 😜🤪😆 uncanny! ♥️
hi ed. I am 12 years old and I ride a 29 inch unicycle with a disk break in the mountains. I love your videos
Nice man
2 years later now, are you still riding?

"People are kind if you give them the opportunity to be"..... Message of peace and harmony. Powerful Ed 👍🏻
"I'm not sure if he was swearing at me or encouraging me" I feel that really sums up the ozzy dialect xD
good one
Something something “awesome wooooo”

You wouldn't have got out of COVID 19 crisis...they would have arrested you immediately...not sure why but I seen a surfer get arrested ffs.
Robert Pickacard political propaganda. Globalism is failing and the tyrants are panicking.

The most cheerful personality I've ever come across...always happy and positive I see🤗
"People are kind. You just have to give them a opportunity to be."
I saw a thumbs up and heard "Nice one!", so I think he was giving encouragement :)
Watching the footage back I think that too, but at the time I missed the thumb I thought I may have heard 'ARSEHOLE'. Just thought it was interesting to show how easy it can be for cyclists and car drivers to misunderstand each other.
Thought he was saying something like "Holy shit man, that's awesome!"; definite encouragement anyhow. All the best from Belgium, Ed!
TotalJargon quite funny how everyone understood something else... What I heard was "get your arse down there"

You're absolutely nuts Ed and I bloody love it - another Ed

i love when i wake up in the morning and find that you posted a new video. it gives me a good outlook on the day. keep it up ed!
i agree with Andrew. You are inspire me.

The blurring was fine. Everyone can live with that. It was a nice speech. Well done!
Agreed
All your posts are happy and positive
1:55 That's so f*cking awesome?
Andrew is just right! I totally agree with him. Thanks for sharing you story!
Ed, it's always a pleasure watching your video, thank you!
"I'll convert that into free beer" I lost it at that point. hahaha

Kids in Australia sure have blurry faces.

it's cause they're upside down lad
Got to take care of the Rolf Harris amongst us!
@Chris P Bacon pls stop typing "of" instead of "have"
Amazing as ever Ed!!
Far out, if I knew you were staying in Greensborough I would have tried to come and say hi - I live in the next suburb over!
Sir you are very inspirational
Absolutely a thumb up, be safe mate!
i would love to do something like this one day but not on a unicycle
jonah scott then look up the channel kombi life, they travel on a vw van, there are lots of other channels about traveling on vans, that's more comfortable
i actually found combo life about 2 months ago
i think that might be more up my street but I'm only 13 so maybe not for another 6 or 7 years
same here, im 16 now, although i would like to finish a degree or smth and get some money before travelling
i think its kind of everyones dream to do some traveling at sometime in there life but they don't realise that if you treat it as a holiday you'll run out of money very quickly
cant desagree with that, also not enough initiative stops a lot of people, financial security mainly
I love the closing comments: "I'm in a place called Liverpool (SW suburban Sydney) and the traffic is so aggressive. " Welcome to Sydney Mate!
Excellent amazing video as usual! Nice positive speech for the school children. Well done.

Quick question which place is more expensive Australia or UK and why is there alot of scotts and irish women there, especially the good looking ones
@@luisvilla799 Australia is easily more expensive, everywhere is like London prices. The Irish love to immigrate

what is that Unicycle punk song?
