- "Blue Liquid" appears on Andy's album 'Joyland'. Andy wrote this tune after a long flight to Portugal. When he flies, he typically detunes the strings on his guitar to relieve some pressure on the neck. When he arrived at his hotel, he found that he had inadvertently left his guitar in a cool new tuning, which lead to the creation of this piece.

I finally learned this song by watching the video from the Greenfield workshop. It took me three weeks lol, but I've finally got it under my fingers.

Edit: the small letter in a tuning (in this case "f#") usually indicates the 1st string. So left to right is strings 6 to 1. This tuning will not work on a regular acoustic so you would have to transpose the tuning.

is there a melody?
Oh yes. The bass plays the melody. Can't you hear it? The bass sings. At parts he plays the bass (the melody) more silent and he plays another melody with higher strings. Other strings play their own melody. It's like a conversation between the bass and other strings but all in all the bass talks or sings the most and leads in the tune.
It's very beautiful and full of emotions as all of Andy's music is.
