USA explaining how sending millions of dollars of supplies to the allies is "Staying out of the War"
Economical support IS STAYING OUT OF WAR! you officially partecipate in a war WHEN YOU SEND YOUR ARMIES TO FIGHT, AND POSSIBLY AFTER A DECLARATION OF WAR, if you are a gentleman and you want to keep international prestige (going against international law don't actually mean going against other nations, but you do lose their trust in you and so they will help you less and all of those things: for example take north korea which was cut out of economical trades because of the nuclearization, against international rules!)
@@no_name4796 Sorry, what I was trying to say (but it was too long to make a good joke) is that the U.S. had promised to stay impartial in foreign affairs especially after the tragedy that was WW1. However when you start sending a bunch of supplies to one side in a war and one side only, sure you aren't actually involved in the war, but you aren't exactly remaining impartial (As in it was pretty clear that the U.S. was in support of the allies even though they had previously promised to stay out of foreign affairs). But yeah you're right.
@@remarkablysquare3216 i mean... us and uk are deeply connected with each other, while the us can't help a country with racial discrimination (and all the concentration camps thing)... so it's more like the help the side with which they had connection, and i know it means being impartial, but still why should they cut off the trades with a country they are connected to?
In a way helping both sides wouldn't that be more impartial, since you are helping a country for no reasons?
@@remarkablysquare3216 after all, i agree with you that is kinda impartial, but still hadn't japan attacked pearl harbor, usa wouldn't have never joined the war

Italy explain why switching Team is a good idea:
@@reffo5548 the king switched i believe not Mussolini.
I don't know if the king was with Mussolini or he hated him.
@@shrektheswampless6102 there never was any switching, it's just a reddit meme. The Italian government imprisoned Mussolini and signed a truce, not an alliance, with the allies on September 8 1943. The Germans, fearing that the allies would then take all of Italy, invaded the now neutral Italian state and freed Mussolini, which led to a civil war between northern Italy as a puppet German state led by Mussolini and allied occupied southern Italy led by the king. People think that Italy suddenly switched sides and started firing on German troops, but it's not what happened. Quite the contrary, it was Germany who started firing on Italian troops, which had orders not to shoot on their former allies.
