    Did anybody else catch that Joe Canning drives left-handed but putts right-handed?!

      I suppose hurling involves hitting off both sides and he might’ve found it easier to switch than most people. Although I know I can putt left handed nearly as well as I can right handed. That’s not as impressive as it sounds. I’m crap at both.

    2 questions.
    1. Why did they get rid of the revetted faced bunkers are Royal Dublin? Links courses need these to stop the sand blowing out when it’s windy.
    2. If you’re playing in the Dublin area why wouldn’t you play at the European?

      Yeah those bunkers look out of place. Resemble more of what Colt would have done on an inland course.

      The European club is halfway down Wicklow. It's not Dublin.

      @@jameskavanagh-ll4sd that’s a fair comment, all the course they reviewed were very close by, European is much further but worth the drive

      Cause European isn't that good.

    Portmarnock golf course hugely overrated. Always was. Visit the European club to understand what I mean.

    I wouldn't consider the Island underrated per se. Less known outside of Irish golfers, but a top course by every definition.
    Corballis is the most underrated next door. Great value.
    I am surprised they didn't get out to at least one inland course.

    • @jameskavanagh-ll4sd
      @jameskavanagh-ll4sd Рік тому +1

      Corballis is let down by hole 7 and holes 12-18 which are truthfully shambolic. Like playing on a cattle field.

      @jameskavanagh-ll4sd For me, 15-18 are pretty poor. 15 and 16 is a danger. It's not like a 100 yard fairway at St. Andrews, flat situation. 17th Green is a joke. A card wrecker for me personally too often. 18th is too short. Maybe the green at 14 could do with some pot bunkers too. But given the space of the land, and what the previous 14th and 15th were, I think it's a fab course for the money.
