Classic game. The only gripe i had, and still do, is the game automatically turning your squad into infected whenever you clear the level and they're still alive. Other than that, pure nostalgia.
@@critical-thinker666 There are even some scenes when you test them on the infection 5 secs before they still to zombies and it shows "negative" :D The Game just wants you to lose all the "comrades" before certain encounters, like boss fights, etc.

Even though I enjoyed this game as a child, I think they should´ve done a complete Remake like Silent Hill or Dead Space. But either way, the movie is a genius classic (even though it was a flop when it released in the 80s and later became the classic it is today) as well as the game was a nice horror action based alternative to Resident Evil.
Lots of kids mad over nothing. Be grateful that you can experience this game on a modern console. This game has been dead for decades. So I'm glad it had a resurgence.

When you are doing the blood test on the squads which is The Thing, it won't react to the blood - revealing them to be humans instead, but then suddenly turns into Things anyway later on. I don't know if that is an bugged game script, or maybe the actual humans where assimilated by another Thing when you weren't looking.

at 9:15, is that NAULS? it looks like him from the close to the end of the movie, Well it least we know what happened to him, also at 10:59 the Norwegian helicopter(LOKK) when Lars and Matias were chasing the Kennel-Thing from Thule Station to US Outpost 31, hey the Norwegian flag behind Blake at 13:45, at 16"11, the fire Axe that Carter launched onto the door in the 2011 film and before Mac and Copper found it, also at the Norwegian base, there's a grave pit, probably where the Juliett-Thing and Karl were burned or it could be the Split-face Thing(Adam/Edvard) that Mac and Copper dug out to take back to the US outpost 31, also while your exploring the Norwegian base, u do see the Thule Station sign with the signs as well, I guess this Remastered version is keeping continuity with the 2011 prequel as well

Not sure the 2024 remastered version video game of the 2002 original video game is connecting with the 2011 prequel film. Everything you said was seen in the 1982 film itself at the Norwegian base.
The real challenge is trying to keep people alive in this f*ckin game! I am the worst hero ever in this game. Everyone died. EVERYONE! I almost made it to the last level to with two guys but they got caught up in the tunnel explosion. I screamed in agony at their deaths, just watching it unfold in front of me with a cutscene. I actually felt bad for them. Blown to bits before the next level loaded. Overall, I had a blast with this game! No major glitches or bugs. Finally got to finish the game this time.
I just went through the same thing except one of my npcs made it into the elevator. Even though he escaped the explosion and didn’t show the death animation that my other 3 survivors got, when the next level loaded me to the surface he was inexplicably gone. Kinda frustrated cause I’m starting to think this remaster just swapped scripted transformations with scripted deaths
It is hard to keep your npcs alive but challenging. The hard part was trying to remember who is human and who isn't. But I'm glad I made use of everyone before I got to the last stage.
So far I am seeing that the things that got changed: 1. Converted it to 16:9 aspect ratio, converts to over the shoulder view when player is standing still, and smoothed out graphics. Am I missing anything else?
Love this game but the fact I got stuck for 2 hours trying to do the first level to anyone stuck watch the video go exactly where the character walks otherwise you ain’t getting past the level

I think it's more like the thing didn't want to control him entirely making him have a false sense of security if that's the idea if you think about the premise what would be much worse a villain that thinks he has full control and he can help his people until it's too late and they get to the mainland and cause a major disaster than to his false sense of security

I got this on original Xbox and upscaled to 1080p threw a emulator. I guess since it is 4k on PS5 it's a remaster. Lighting looks better on this, but same graphics.

You know...ALWAYS when yt walkthrough is for example 5 hours, I know that game is gonna took me like 12 hours xD The same with Metro Exodus which I finished - yt videos are 11h long, but game took me 30 HOURS (but on hard). I think that this game is like 8 hours long for average player.

as a gun nut i am kind of disappointed they only smoothed the graphics instead of remade the guns models also. many weapons are anachronistic for 1982 , the year where the events of the two Thing movies and finally this game took place . The basis pistol seems to be a Beretta 92FS inox , while a SIG Sauer P226 would've been more appropriate , the 92S version of the Beretta existed but US army branches used mainly 1911s , lower capacity but big power (thanks to the heavier 45 ACP instead of 9mm). the MP5 still looks badly done with an handle at the wrong side , and it has a SD suppressed barrel. would been appropriate indoors but it clearly fire loudly with the flashes ingame. it has also navy red markings for the firemodes while MP5s at the time have numbers for the modes. a short assault rifle such as XM177 (also known as the CAR 15 , M4's ancestor) would've been more effective against the Thing mutated shapes (and still practical to carry indoors) thanks to 5.56mm power shotgun is a Benelli M4 , it seems to me the M1 existed at the time but the US armed forces still used the Browning Auto 5 as semi-auto shotgun although not as common than pump ones such as Remington , Mossberg or Ithaca. Blake always hold guns with one hand ingame for some reason the PSG1-SR9 like sniper rifle have bigger magazines as ammo items unlike the magazine seen on the gun and it looks like it's made of wood for some reason it's kind of a shame we don't find and can't use a Colt magnum revolver like the one Macready used in the movie . A little more of firepower against the Things wouldn't hurt the flamethrower isn't a M27A1 like the one seen in the movie but it looks more practical to carry without the fuel back tank don't get me wrong , the game look good but i found that sadly frustrating. one of the reason why the game would need a remake instead. for the rest i was tired, and bored and i wanted to put some culture here
It's clumsy to try to use the inventory wheel in the middle of a fight just to switch to your torch. Use the shortcuts instead; one key for every weapon..........much much faster
You got me STRESSED out watching you run around with 5 bullets left in your SMG or a few shotgun shells and NOT reloading…. RELOAD! Don’t be an easy infection for The Thing! Where’s your survival instinct!
It's great when you watch playthroughs/streams of "so called" die-hard fans of the film and it's director and yet none of them notice this character's resemblance when he enters

If the main bad guy is capable of controlling the infection from the thing, that would make the guy an actual supervillain.
