    looks like a case of over watering, once you get the plant rooted, water once a week and fertilize once a month during the spring and summer

      Thank you for that info. I appreciate it.

    RE: Terra Cotta Pots
    The size for the pot costs about $5.50 plus taxes at Home Depot which locates in Houston, Texas.
    And the saucer costs $5.98 plus taxes.
    I am not down to the penny.
    Have a blessed New Year 2021.

      These plants are pretty resilient even when you're think they're dead they'll start pushing up new growth.

    You definitely over watered it

      How much water do these plants like? I can't seem to find the proper balance.

    I would cut the straggly growth off. It’s taking to much energy for the root system.

    • @forknvine
      @forknvine  2 роки тому

      You're right. I never liked doing that in the beginning but it's so much better for the plant to cut that stuff off.

    Could you share an update about the tradescantia. Seems like root rot. Did it survive after cutting back the roots? I have one that's having some similar issue, just wondering if I need to cut the rotted roots, repot along with some additional steps like using chlorine? Any advice?

    • @LoHMysticAgent
      @LoHMysticAgent 3 роки тому

      Any rot it has you should cut. I have mine growing in coco coir and other thriving in hydro.

      Yes you always cut off the rot!! He, the guy that made this video was probably new to plants when he made this video

    You do not need to water it that much after repotting if it was already in moist soil.. You drowned that thing lol
    I’m curious did it survive?

    Brow spots come when water 💦 splashes on the leaves

    Where did you find the terra cotta pots? The terra cotta pots here cost more than the plant..

      I found them at the dollar store for $4. But that was before this pandemic started. They are hard to find now.

    Does it need that deep of a pot. Just got one myself.🙂

    I hope you live alone in your apartment because of the mess you made unnecessarily. First, when transplanting anything, please protect the table you are doing it on with a plastic bag. Second, if the plant you want to transplant has no roots at all, you must first cut it shorter and put it in water until it grows roots. You obviously don't like plastic for some reason, but plastic pots are way better than ceramic ones. In addition, you have chosen a pot that is too big for such small plants. And in the end, you watered them so much that it was a real crime! Good luck, but my advice is plastic pots and less watering if you keep tradescantias exclusively in the apartment. Mine are outside and flourishing, and in the summer they drink like crazy, but I never water them before checking if the soil is dry or humid with soil meter which can reach the bottom of the pot. Good luck, but this was really hard to watch, poor plants.
