- While on their way to the museum, the Ghostbusters hear that there is something strange going on at the public library where the first ghost they ever actually encountered made them look stupid, so they head there immediately to investigate.

Probably my favorite level in the game it was so creepy and mysterious it made you actually feel like a ghostbuster

I can't believe they even made a small segment of the level a place for kids,especially when you realize that children died in there!😭

The part where Ray and The Rookie encounter the spirits of children was the creepiest and saddest part of this level imho, even if they're harmless...makes you wonder, Hoover killed Eleanor Twitty to get the Gozerian Codex...but did he kill children as well?

FINALLY! Someone who scans and use uses the correct weapon! (I know there aren't any "correct weapons". What I mean is he uses the best weapon for eliminating a certain ghost.)
the part where they crossed over to the other dimension still gets my ghostbuster nerves a jolt

The shock blast is powerful, and has a surprisingly wide range, but the damage done greatly decreases with distance, so get up close for max damage. The stasis stream will slow an enemy down. Hold it on them long enough to to stop them completely, and then put a trap over them to catch them instantly. Corporeal enemies (seem to) take large amounts of damage if hit with a boson dart when immobilized, so hit them with one when you immobilize them.
The slime blower is for removing black slime and their portals. It is also the weakness of certain enemies, so... Yeah, pretty self-explanatory. The slime tether is used for anchoring two things together. This can be used on a weakened ghost, and if you pull them near a trap, it'll trap them instantly. The slime tether does become brittle over time and break, though, and they use quite an amount of slime. Blast a tether with any other equipment type to destroy it instantly.
I will not lie. This level would make me just pause the game and walk away. Maybe go outside. All to decompress. Maybe after seeing the towers of stacked books just appearing after picking up a lamp. I do not do horror games too well. And I realize Ghostbusters may not be a total horror game. Yet this level has all the right elements. I mean who didn't have nightmares of being lost in a library? At Night. During a storm. And the power goes out. *Random creaking sounds*
This was the scariest level hands down when I was a kid.
Same thing this game traumatized me
Cruster (white ghost) and Crusto (blue ghost) are two of the coolest ghost that were designed for the video game. I gotta hand it to the people who worked for Terminal Reality, they sure came up with some really impressive ghosts and creatures when they were designing the video game.
Anyway, ever since I had first played the video game, I had often wondered why the designers didn't have the rookie walk down the steps outside of the New York Public Library just like they had Ray, Egon and Winston do (1:13) and why they didn't give the librarian ghost tattered cloth when it had transformed (34:09) just like the puppet had of the 1984 film AND why they didn't have more ghosts like Crusto flying around (39:49).
19:42 This part scared me the most when i played the game for the first time.
I think the collector killed the kids.

The juvenile curriculum segment of this level can be scary but also quite sad hearing the sounds of the kids laughing and crying.
I'm sure just before you hear a kid's voice saying bye as you exit the room, I heard another voice crying out for their mommy :-(
It hurts more knowing that we're talking about deceased little children.Children's deaths are the worst thing ever,and I can't stand them!Plus,you're absolutely right about the laughing and crying.
Stephy The Bride I swear, this part really got to me. I just remember almost breaking down and sobbing because of this level. Everything hit me like a steam-powered train.

Honestly the Collector was completely messed up
I really like that level, librarys are creepy by nature and this one is no exception. Especially since you get my favourite weapon here, the "shotgun" of the game. That thing is quite powerful and blasts those damn book ghosts straight out of the water!

I always thought that there was a damages bar or think like it lowered your score or something when you destroy a lot of property in the game
Yeah. From the Ghostbusters PS2 game, it tracks in money how much damage the Ghostbuster player caused by destroying objects. But it doesn't penalise the player if he/she did a lot of damage as New York City agrees to pay all Ghostbusting related damages.

Do their parents care ? And why are they yelling “ Mommy “ and “ Please save me ! “ ? I am waiting for a theorist to explain the Kid’s Library 📚 theory .
