I have both, I know they’re similar but to me they’ve got completely different vibes! My monogram alma being super casual and my black box Bolide feeling more fancy lol

Glad to hear someone talking about my favorite Hermes bag. I would love for you to do a video about some of the more obscure Hermes designs. I see a Verrou and a Roulis on you shelves, for example. No one seems to talk about them and they are interesting designs. Or how about the Toolbox or the Berline or the Victoria 2? There are so many designs outside the big three.

IMO Alma Bb in epi is IYKYK kinda bag classy in black epi .. can’t go wrong with either Hermes or lv depends on the vibe you’re going for

Vintage epi lv is so under rated.
I love the Alma shape it really suits me. Also I have a Celine bag hat's similar to the Bolide, with the Celine monogram which is much more understated than the LV monogram. The problem with the epileather it's often 2 toned. That makes maintenance much harder it's not a single colour so touchups on colour are going to be noticeable. I love the look of the new 35 Bolide neutral. Very practical!

Love the Alma BB in épi leather. I like the Bolide 25 too. The Alma is more convenient due to the two zippers and the opening is much easier. It’s so much cheaper and easier to get than the Bolide.

@@Jessiestyle Yes but if the Alma zipper doesn't flow easily (mine doesn't) it's just annoying. You have to drop what you're doing, put the bag down, unzip using 2 hands to hold the bag down...whereas if the Bolide zip glides easily, then you can open and use it with one hand. Bonus IMO. I haven't used an Hermès bag but I get the feeling it's on another level. BTW jessie I did a follow up email to your post on the pink bag at Goodbyes
I have actually looked at both, I have had 2 alma bags, I sort of really want a bolide but they are pricey, the handles are a bit annoying since they don't fold. I have a bunch of domed bags, i really like the shape
Exactly why I didn’t like my bolide and sold it. I prefer the Alma. Not the same quality at all but the handles are just annoying when we use the shoulder strap.

The Bolide in the colors that I want (pink) cost nearly a Birkin, even in the second hand market, so if I wanted to enjoy Hermes leather, I would rather buy a Birkin than a Bolide. Also, there's just so many dupes that look exactly like the Bolide that it's a bit discouraging.
I enjoy my LV Almas for casual, care-free purposes like for work, because they are durable even on rainy days. I particularly like the epi leather one in the rose ballerine color-- I also have a matching Neverful.

I had never heard of the Bolide until I watched your channel. The only Hermes silhouettes that I knew of were the Kelly, the Birkin and the Constance. I later learned of the Pincotin and the Evelyn. Watching your videos are like a Masters Class in Hermes, lol. I’m more familiar with the LV Alma, so if you’d asked me before finding you and your collection, I would have said the Alma. Now, I’m not sure. I can’t afford either, but I can try and save up my pennies. Thanks for sharing, Jessie!

I don’t like the circle leather plaque like detail on the bolide - I think the Alma is generally more aesthetically pleasing even though the bolide is better quality.
yes!! alot of people dont like the circle! that is where one is supposed to stamp there in initials
I like both bags but I really love my alma bb bc it’s vernis. I’m also short with a short torso so the handles on the bollide are not my favorite since I like to cross body my bags.

I have 2 bolides. A25 and 27, love them both. Definitely more luxurious than the alma. I’m pretty sure bolide was invented first.

I have Bolide 27 and 31 as well as Alma BB and PM. They are all fabulous, each for their own reasons. The LV are very affordable and very easy to wear and style. The lux leather of Hermes is in a field of its own. Love your review!

I always prefer Hermes because I like simplicity look and their craftsmanship. I think the 2 is similar shape but has a total different feel and Style. If can afford just get both.

This is how your shelves fill up! I've got very similar bags from different brands like monograms LV, Celine, Morabito, Etro people go: 'why do you have so many bags that look the same?' They just can't see the subtle - but to me, very real - differences.
Thanks for the comparisons Jessie. both are great looking bags and I don’t think you can go wrong with either. LV have started putting soft leather inside some of their bags now but certainly not in the Alma. I guess I would prefer the handles on the Alma but that would only be if I wanted to cross body it. I’m short so handles up look dumb and feel yuk. Thanks

The Alma looks better to me and i love that the handles collapse. However I’m happy Hermes gives another option.
The ostrich Alma bags have buttery soft leather linings. No surprise though at their price points. Just FYI. 😊

Jessie, totally agree with you, I once was very tempted to buy the LV alma cuz I like the bolide bag but then I think LV is not Hermes 🤭🤭so I might just save more money for the bolide bag. That’s just my humble opinion. Thanks for the gorgeous sharing 🙏🏻🙏🏻😘😘

Yes but every time I buy a bag I justify it by saying I am buying quality, and it will last forever, I won't need any more bags blah blah blah. But in reality I just don't wear them hard because of the quantity of keeping on buying on the same false premises...so best to just shoot for what will give you maximum joy. I have reigned in spending by having a limit, but it doesn't work if you just buy more...lol. Might as well go for Hermès
I think they're similar looking bags but they're different bags for different phases of your life.
Alma is perfect for someone younger and exploring whereas Bolide is for someone older or with a more defined personal style.
LOVE that you covered this topic on two of my favorite bags! Have you seen the upcoming Epi Mini Alma that LV's (re)releasing later this year? It's an improvement because now the strap will be both removable and adjustable. 😍 Also excited for the latest version (shown on the runway) of their lambskin Malletage Alma, with the quilting being a nod to their interior trunk design. 🥰 Without a doubt, LV is the most adventurous with Alma variations, and I think the Alma Parnassea in Taurillon Leather looks very similar to the Bolide, as does the shape of the Moon Alma. Hermes is equally playful with their Skateboard, Shark, and Car Bolide's - such great conversation starters too.

Great video - I really enjoyed hearing your comparison and points for each! I love both the Bolide and Alma, and have both in several sizes. However, I do have to say that the Bolide gives me more joy/excitement! Like you I love decorating it with twilly’s and a rodeo. I think it’s a great and more understated way to enjoy an Hermes bag and the leathers/quality/heritage. I recently picked up a vintage Bolide 35 in box, Rouge H for my birthday that’s the same year as me - I’m obsessed with it 😂

Hi Jessie, there is a nano Alma size out this season that is smaller than the BB. It comes in epi leather! I forget if my SA called it the nano or the micro. I tried on the black version. It has a crossbody strap.
I have a size 31 bolide. Was once offered a mini bolide and rejected it to get an Alma BB. Often wonder if I had made the right decision?……

Easy for me. It is bolide because I don’t like handles fold down when carry the strap on shoulder.

The Bolide 35 is a great size for the horse charm, because of the bigger proportion.
That charm can risk overwhelming a smaller bag plus a twilly.

My LV Vernis Alma in Bleu Nuit MM is a classic boss bag .. I've had for years now....not a fan of the Bolide or its price.
i like them both actually and i can see applications for both. depending on how you dress them up, they can serve as fun accents to your outfit or just be practical in your daily life. i wonder though if you got the lv in leather whether it would last as long as hermes leather.

The handles, I have a larger chest and a short torso so the handles being up as a cross body is problematic, so I have had both, I am gonna look at the hermes bag if I ever get a chance.

I'm dying for the Alma BB in the nautical print. I don't like the pictures of it, but I saw it just browsing in person and I'm obsessed. I'm trying to save $ though, so I'm resisting :-( I also liked the purple metalic with monogram trim BB and was obsessed with that, so...I'll probably never get either lol. I actually have my little Gucci Ophidia small shoulder dome with gorgeous satiny blue interior (which I've seen comparison videos of with the Alma BB) on sale with a consigner right now...just got tired of it, no complaints, so who knows...maybe if it sells I can get the Nautical....if not--there's always another print lol! Great video 🙂

someone who would claim that the Alma is a better "deal" for the cost is only worried about spending the money on something 90% of people wouldn't recognise. People who buy luxury bags to be "seen" are sad and insecure.
would get both in big sizes as man but frist love coach has their verson but for me I get :LV over coach anyday

The contemporary version of the Bolide is the Coach Bleecker Preston, which came out about ten years ago. It's a pretty good dupe! I had it in the black leather mini size with antique brass studs. I love your Bolide collection!
